Brussels/ Dubai, 2nd November 2015– SWIFT, the financial messaging provider for more than 10,800 banks, securities institutions and corporate customers in 200 countries and territories, today announced two senior executive appointments for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region. Sido Bestani becomes Head of Middle East, Turkey and Africa and Khaled Moharem will take on his new role as the Head of Middle East and North Africa, reporting to Sido Bestani.
The two new appointments mark a reorganisation in SWIFT's META team and are effective immediately.
Sido Bestani joined SWIFT with more than 10 years of experience in the financial services technology industry. In 2008 he was appointed as Head of Middle East & North Africa and led the creation of SWIFT’s consultancy hub in Dubai. In his new role, he will continue to lead major SWIFT initiatives in the region, working on synergies and collaboration between SWIFT’s offices in Africa and the Middle East. With offices in Dubai, Johannesburg, Nairobi and Accra, SWIFT is well placed to assist local financial communities and corporations as they continue to develop their businesses across both continents, and to support major projects within the region as these pursue deeper economic integration and harmonisation.
SWIFT will also continue to be the catalyst that brings the financial community across both continents together to work collaboratively to shape market practice, define standards and consider solutions to issues of mutual interest.
Khaled Moharem has spent more than seven years at SWIFT as the Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait. He has also managed relationships and projects across a diverse number of SWIFT communities, ranging from central banks, commercial banks, market infrastructures and corporates.
Sido Bestani said: “Khaled has a proven track record and will remain in his new role a tremendous asset to our team, bringing a deep understanding of our customers and our community. I look forward to working closely with him as we define and execute our overall strategy for the MENA region.”

"سويفت" تُعلن عن تعيينين اثنين لمنصبي كبار المدراء لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وتركيا وإفريقيا
بروكسل/دبي، 2015 - أعلنت "سويفت"، وهي موفر خدمة الرسائل المالية لأكثر من 10,800 مصرف ومؤسسة وشركة مالية في 200 بلداً ومقاطعة، اليوم عن تعيينين اثنين لمنصب كبار المدراء لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وتركيا وإفريقيا (META). وسيشغل سيد أحمد بستاني منصب رئيس منطقة الشرق الأوسط وتركيا وإفريقيا، بينما سيشغل خالد محرّم منصبه الجديد كرئيس لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا تحت إشراف سيد أحمد بستاني.
والتعيينان الجديدان اللذان سيدخلان حيّز التنفيذ بشكل فوري، هما جزء من إعادة تنظيم لفريق "سويفت" في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وتركيا وإفريقيا.
انضم سيد أحمد بستاني إلى "سويفت" بعد أن اكتسب أكثر من 10 أعوام من الخبرة في قطاع تكنولوجيا الخدمات المالية. وقد تم تعيينه في عام 2008 كرئيس للشركة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا حيث قاد تأسيس مقر "سويفت" الاستشاري في دبي. وسيواصل بستاني في منصبه الجديد قيادة كبرى مبادرات "سويفت" في المنطقة حيث سيضمن التعاون والتكامل بين مكاتب "سويفت" في إفريقيا والشرق الأوسط. وتعتبر "سويفت" بمكاتبها في كل من دبي وجوهانسبرغ ونيروبي وأكرا، في موقع ممتاز يؤهلها لمساعدة المؤسسات المالية والشركات المحلية في سعيها للاستمرار في تطوير أعمالها في القارتين وكذلك دعم كبرى المشاريع في المنطقة في سعيها لتحقيق المزيد من التكامل والتناسق الاقتصادي.
هذا وستواصل "سويفت" دورها المحفّز والهادف لتشجيع التعاون بين القطاعات المالية في القارتين بغرض بلورة ممارسات السوق وإرساء المعايير وإيجاد حلول للقضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
يعمل خالد محرّم لدى "سويفت" منذ أكثر من سبع سنوات في منصب مدير الشركة في المملكة العربية السعودية ومصر والكويت. وقد أدار أيضاً علاقات ومشاريع في قطاعات متنوعة تنشط فيها "سويفت"، بما في ذلك قطاع المصارف المركزية والمصارف التجارية والبنى الأساسية للسوق والقطاع المؤسسي.
وصرّح سيد أحمد بستاني قائلاً: "لدى خالد خبرة في هذا القطاع وهو سيستمر من خلال منصبه الجديد في المساهمة في لعب دور كبير في فريقنا لدعم القطاع المصرفي في المنطقة، حيث أنه يتحلّى بفهم عميق لعملائنا وقطاعنا. أنا أتطلّع للعمل معه عن كثب في سياق سعينا لتحديد وتطبيق استراتيجيتنا الكلية لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا."
