In line with the university’s leadership efforts to instill and promote a culture of scientific research to train Emirati professionals to be at par with international researchers
Two learners discuss the vocational education culture and the quality of smart services in higher education in the UAE
UAE, October 28, 2015 - Two Emirati PhD learners from the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) have presented their research papers to the international academic community and international researchers during the Doctoral Consortium session organized at the 26th International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) World Conference. The event was hosted by the University of South Africa in Sun City, South Africa. It witnessed the participation of more than 900 university learners, academics, decision makers and international experts in the fields of distance education and e-learning from 67 countries.
Hanadi Al Suwaidi and Fahad Al Saadi were chosen to represent HBMSU and participate in the important session, after their success in passing the rigorous evaluation process which learners from all over the world have applied for. Al Suwaidi’s paper, ‘Establishing a Vocational Education Culture in the UAE,’ which is considered to be the first of its kind research in the country, showcased the introduction of reflective practices and collaborative learning in vocational education institutions to increase the employability of graduates in the country. Meanwhile, Al Saadi’s paper, entitled ‘Quality Dimensions and Parameters of e-Learning in the Higher Education Field in the UAE,’ explored the dimensions and measurements of e-service quality in e-learning –enabled higher education in the UAE.
The Doctoral Consortium session aims to support PhD learners’ research efforts, and to provide an ideal platform where learners receive targeted guidance and purposeful observations from prominent international experts. The session also aims to build a group of young researchers in specific areas.

In addition to organizing the Doctoral Consortium, which is a key event that attracts leading PhD learners in the field of open education and e-learning, open education resources, massive open online courses, and technology-aided learning education, the ICDE World Conference also featured several academic presentations. The event provided a specialized platform for PhD learners to present their research studies before an international audience composed of leading academic experts and researchers.
The 26th IDCE World Conference was held under the theme ‘Growing Capacities for Sustainable Distance e-Learning Provision’ and was hosted by the University of South Africa. The event focused on boosting direct networking to simplify knowledge transfer, exchange of best practices, support of innovative ideas and suggest policies and strategies that serve the UN’s sustainable development goals that include the implementation of its plan, ‘Education 2030: Towards Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Lifelong Learning for all.’

الإمارات، 28 أكتوبر، 5201 – قدم اثنان من دارسي برامج الدكتوراه الإماراتيين في "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" أوراقهم البحثية أمام نخبة من الموجهين الأكاديميين والباحثين الدوليين خلال جلسة "اتحاد دارسي الدكتوراه" (Doctoral Consortium)، التي تم تنظيمها على هامش جدول أعمال الدورة السادسة والعشرين من "المؤتمر الدائم للمجلس الدولي للتعليم المفتوح والتعلم عن بعد" (ICDE World Conference). وأقيم المؤتمر في مدينة الشمس في جنوب أفريقيا بمشاركة أكثر من 900 شخص من رؤساء الجامعات والأكاديميين وصناع القرار والخبراء الدوليين المعنيين بقطاع التعليم الذكي والمفتوح من 67 دولة.
وتم اختيار كل من هنادي السويدي وفهد السعدي لتمثيل "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" والمشاركة في هذه الجلسة المهمة، عقب نجاحهم في اجتياز عملية تقييم صارمة تقدم فيها طلاب من جميع أنحاء العالم. وناقشت السويدي نتائج دراستها البحثية المتمحورة حول "ترسيخ ثقافة التعليم المهني في دولة الإمارات"، والتي تعتبر واحدة من الأبحاث الأولى من نوعها على المستوى المحلي. ومن جانبه، قام السعدي باستعراض ما توصلت إليه دراسته البحثية التي تتناول موضوع "أبعاد ومقاييس جودة الخدمات الذكية ضمن قطاع التعليم العالي في دولة الإمارات".
وتهدف جلسة "اتحاد دارسي الدكتوراه" (Doctoral Consortium)، إلى دعم جهود طلبة الدكتوراه البحثية، وتوفير منصة مثالية يتلقى فيها الطلاب توجيهات هادفة وملاحظات بناءة من خبراء دوليين بارزين. كما تهدف الجلسة إلى بناء مجموعة من الباحثين الشباب في مجالات محددة.
وقال الدكتور منصور العور، رئيس "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية": "نجحت "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية"، منذ انطلاقها، في الوصول إلى موقع الريادة باعتبارها صاحبة المبادرة في إطلاق ونشر مفهوم التعليم الذكي في العالم العربي. لذا تأتي مشاركتنا في "المؤتمر الدائم للمجلس الدولي للتعليم المفتوح والتعلم عن بعد"، انطلاقاً من التزامنا بمسؤولياتنا تجاه إثراء مخزون المعرفة، وتحفيز البحث العلمي، وغرس ثقافة الإبداع والابتكار محلياً وعربياً، فضلاً عن بناء جيل قادر على دعم مسيرة تحويل دولة الإمارات إلى إحدى الدول الأكثر ابتكاراً في العالم، تماشياً مع توجيهات سيدي سمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، ولي عهد دبي الرئيس الأعلى للجامعة، في تجسيد أهداف "الاستراتيجية الوطنية للابتكار"."
وأضاف العور: "تعكس مشاركة اثنين من دارسينا في أعمال "اتحاد دارسي الدكتوراه" (Doctoral Consortium)، خلال "المؤتمر الدائم للمجلس الدولي للتعليم المفتوح والتعلم عن بعد"، مستوى جودة واحترافية وتميز برامجنا النوعية القائمة على الدمج بين التكنولوجيا الحديثة ومنهجيات البحث العلمي الجاد وأساليب التعلم المبتكرة. ونتطلع من خلال هذه الخطوة إلى تسليط الضوء على الإمكانات البحثية الهائلة والطاقات الإبداعية في العالم العربي، وبالأخص في دولة الإمارات التي تخطو خطوات سبّاقة على صعيد الاستثمار الأمثل في رأس المال البشري المواطن، وتوظيفه بالشكل الأمثل في توجيه الاقتصاد نحو أعلى درجات الإبداع والابتكار، ودفع عجلة التنمية الشاملة والمستدامة."
واختتم العور: "نفخر بالأعمال البحثية المتميزة المقدمة من هنادي السويدي وفهد السعدي، والتي تستحق أن تكون في دائرة الضوء خلال حدث دولي رفيع، مثل "المؤتمر الدائم للمجلس الدولي للتعليم المفتوح والتعلم عن بعد". ونؤكد من جانبنا مساعينا الحثيثة لتوفير الدعم اللازم لهما ولكافة الدارسين في "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية"، الذين نتمنى أن ينتهجوا جميعاً نهج التميز في البحث العلمي الجاد، في سبيل المساهمة في رسم استراتيجيات فاعلة لتحقيق الأهداف الطموحة للأمم المتحدة في توفير التعليم للجميع بحلول العام 2030 وما بعده."
وتخلل "المؤتمر الدائم للمجلس الدولي للتعليم المفتوح والتعلم عن بعد" تقديم عدد كبير من العروض التقديمية الأكاديمية، فضلاً عن تنظيم جلسة "اتحاد دارسي الدكتوراه" (Doctoral Consortium)، الحدث الذي جمع نخبة طلبة الدكتوراه من الباحثين في المجالات ذات الصلة بـ "التعليم المفتوح والتعليم الإلكتروني"، و"مصادر التعليم المفتوح" (OERs)، و"المقررات الإلكترونية المفتوحة واسعة الانتشار" (MOOCs)، و"التعليم المدعم بالتكنولوجيا". وقد أتاحت هذه المنصة المتخصصة الفرصة أمام طلبة الدكتوراه لاستعراض أعمالهم البحثية أمام أبرز الشخصيات الأكاديمية والباحثين في العالم.
وتمحور جدول أعمال الدورة السادسة والعشرون من "المؤتمر الدائم للمجلس الدولي للتعليم المفتوح والتعلم عن بعد"، التي تحمل شعار "القدرات المتنامية لضمان مستقبل مستدام للتعليم الإلكتروني والتعلّم عن بعد"، حول تعزيز قنوات التواصل المباشر لتسهيل نقل المعرفة، وتبادل أفضل الممارسات، ودعم الأفكار المبتكرة واقتراح السياسات والاستراتيجيات التي تصب في خدمة أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة، التي تشمل خطة "التعليم بحلول عام 2030: نحو التعليم الجيّد المُنصف والشامل والتعلُّم مدى الحياة للجميع".
