GULFOOD MANUFACTURING 2015 OPENS TOMORROW: HIGHLIGHTS BURGEONING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN REGION’S FOOD & BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING SECTOR

1,500 international exhibitors prepare for 30,000+ visitors and brisk trading in equipment, technology, ingredients, packaging and supply chain solutions

Dubai, United Arab Emirates:   Gulfood Manufacturing 2015, the largest and most influential platform for the region’s food manufacturing, processing and packaging industry, opens in Dubai tomorrow (Tuesday), with brisk business expected during the three-day show.  Taking place from 27 – 29 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Gulfood Manufacturing facilitates valuable trade opportunities between suppliers, manufacturers and distributors of F&B processing equipment, services, packaging and ingredients and the region’s fast growing F&B manufacturing industry. More than 30,000 trade visitors from the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia (MEASA) markets are expected to attend.

In a region with significant dependence on food imports to feed fast growing populations, the need to develop a robust localised and sustainable food manufacturing industry has never been more important.  Governments across MEASA are investing in the development of sector-specific industrial parks for F&B manufacturing and processing, offering subsidies on equipment, duty-free imports of raw ingredients, and encouraging local, regional and international businesses to operate in the region.   In addition, rapid urbanisation, increased income levels and improved living standards open dynamic new market opportunities for the F&B sector.

Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions & Events, DWTC said: “It is clear from the immediate growth of Gulfood Manufacturing in just one year that the market potential across the region is attracting strong interest from the global food manufacturing industry.  This year we will welcome more than 1,500 exhibitors to the show, an increase of over 35 percent on the previous year, and representation in every sector of the industry value chain.”

Exhibitors at this year’s show include global giants, such as Cargill Europe BVBA, Döhler Middle East, CSM Deutschland GmbH and Symrise in ingredients, Multivac, Somoplast and Tetra Pak in packaging, and GEA Food Solutions Germany, Mecatherm SA and Rieckerman in processing equipment.

Specialist sectors within the F&B manufacturing industry demonstrating significant business opportunities include Halal foods, health drinks, functional foods and beverages, and on-the-go consumables to fit in with global consumer lifestyle trends.  These opportunities extend across the industry, whether core ingredients, packaging innovations, manufacturing equipment or logistics.  Increased focus on improving operational efficiencies see new innovations in equipment, manufacturing, and the harnessing of technology to improve hygiene, production, packaging and logistics.

A highly targeted hosted buyers programme will see 2,000 trade representatives from across the MEASA region attend the show, with cumulative potential spending power that establishes Gulfood Manufacturing as the leading transactional F&B manufacturing show in the world.

Networking opportunities present exceptionally valuable business opportunities at the show this year, with a number of international and regional manufacturers actively seeking licencing and joint-venture partnerships in the region.

Accessing the latest industry intelligence and insights is a key element in maintaining the competitive edge for businesses in food manufacturing and processing, and the three conferences running alongside Gulfood Manufacturing offer access to global expertise, best practice case studies, supply chain developments, and practical direction on expansion and new revenue generating opportunities.

“Gulfood Manufacturing 2015 plays a pivotal role in the ongoing development of this critical manufacturing sector in the region. Easily accessed, highly targeted and with a full-spectrum of suppliers and manufacturers showcasing the latest products, technologies and services, it’s a show that can only benefit those who attend,” said LohMirmand.
