Developer of patented mega-lagoon technology to showcase growing global portfolio at Cityscape Egypt 2015; new director for the Middle East appointed to oversee region with duo of new Egypt projects leading regional activity
Dubai, 14 September 2015. Crystal Lagoons Corp., the patented technology developer of giant crystalline lagoons, will be exhibiting for the first time at Cityscape Egypt with an update on its growing portfolio of Egypt projects and newly strengthened regional team.
Carlos Salas has been appointed Regional Director Middle East, with a remit to oversea the company’s strategic growth, with a total of 10 active, under-development and pipeline projects spread across five key locations.
Based in Dubai, Salas brings with him extensive regional experience, having spent the last six years as head of the Embassy of Chile in the UAE’s economic department and GCC commercial representative for ProChile.
“Carlos has a thorough understanding of the Middle East business environment as well as an extensive network of governmental and commercial contacts, which places him – and Crystal Lagoons – in prime position to take our existing projects forward and capitalise on new opportunities in the region,” said Uri Man, CEO, Crystal Lagoons.
Crystal Lagoons has a total of four active projects in Egypt, including the 12.2 hectare CityStars Sharm El Sheikh lagoon, the regional flagship for the company. The US$500 million development will feature 30,000 residential units, hotels, golf courses, marinas, a museum and a shopping mall.
Building on the success of its first Middle East – and Egypt – project, the company is now developing a second lagoon for Sharm el Sheikh. The 2.7-hectare Radamis Lagoon will be the glittering turquoise centerpiece for a 2,500-room, three-hotel mixed-use development.
Newly added to the portfolio for 2015, Crystal Lagoons is working with Hassan Allam Properties (hap) on a trio of crystal lagoons for its high-end Swanlake North Coast community. The US$200 million development encompasses luxurious residential villas, twin villas, chalets and a boutique hotel with the lagoons the main leisure focus, and interwoven amongst the residential elements.
“With a choice of three lagoons ranging in size from 1.64 to 2.67 hectares, this is a fantastic opportunity for us to work hand-in-hand with the architect and developer of Swanlake to create a sustainable leisure experience that is the perfect vehicle for our technological innovation, but that also showcases the future of mega lagoon-based communities and the value-add that they bring to residents and visitors,” said Carlos Salas, Middle East Regional Director, Crystal Lagoons.
The fourth and final project under development in Egypt is also located on Egypt’s northern coast. Developed by real estate company Porto Group, the US$345 million, 150-hectare mixed-use Porto Golf Marina will offer a 2.4-hectare crystalline lagoon to complement an exciting collection of restaurants and 19 residential buildings with a total of 2,126 apartments (Porto Lagoons). For golf enthusiasts, the renowned American golf course architect, Raymond Hearn, has developed the only 18-hole golf course on Egypt’s northern coast.

"كريستال لاغونز" تعرض أحدث مشاريعها في سيتي سكيب مصر
دبي، 14 سبتمبر 2015 – أعلنت كريستال لاغونز، الشركة العالمية صاحبة براءة اختراع تقنيات تطوير البحيرات البلورية العملاقة، عن مشاركتها هذا العام في معرض سيتي سكيب مصر.
و تأتي هذه المشاركة لعرض آخر المشاريع التي تقوم بها كريستال لاغونز في منطقة الشرق الأوسط و التي يفوق حجمها مليارات الدولارات، بالاضافة الى اعلانها عن تعيين السيد كارلوس سالاس كمدير اقليمي لعملياتها في الشرق الأوسط، حيث سيشرف على 10 مشاريع جاري تنفيذها في 5 دول رئيسية في المنطقة.
و سيتخذ سالاس من دبي مقراَ لأعمال الشركة في المنطقة، نتيجة لخبرته التي تزيد عن 6 سنوات و التي شغل خلالها رئيس المكتب الاقتصادي التابع لسفارة جمهورية التشيلي و ممثل لبروشيلي في الامارات و الخليج العربي.

و تعمل كريستال لاغونز حالياَ على 6 مشاريع في الخليج العربي متوزعة ما بين الامارات و المملكة العربية السعودية و سلطنة عمان ، و تضم هذه المشاريع كلاَ من مشروع البحيرة التجريبية في ديستركت ون في مدينة محمد بن راشد في دبي، و التي تعد واحدة من البحيرات العملاقة المزمع انشاؤها بمساحة اجماليه 40 هكتاراَ، بالاضافة الى المرحلة الثانية من البحيرة على مساحة 8 هكتارات والتي سوف تنتهي الأعمال بها في عام 2016، لتستكمل ببحيرة تمتد على مساحة 9 هكتارات في عام 2017.
و قال كارلوس سالاس، المدير الاقليمي لكريستال لاغونز في دبي:" نحن سعداء بانتقالنا لبناء المرحلة الثانية من بحيرة مدينة محمد بن راشد، و يأتي ذلك جراء الشراكة الممتازة مع ميدان شوبا، وهو ما يضعنا في موقع لتنمية العديد من مشاريعنا و معياراَ لجودة منتجنا في شتى أنحاء العالم".
و تعمل الشركة حالياَ في المملكة العربية السعودية من خلال مشروعين و هما مشروع بحيرة بمساحة 9.3 هكتاراَ و من المقرر تسليمه أوائل عام 2016 في مركة الأمير سلطان الثقافي، بالاضافة الى مشروع ميسم لاجون و التي تبلغ مساحتها حوالي العشر هكتارات و الذي مازال في مرحلة التخطيط الهندسي.
و يعتبر مشروع ميسم لاجون، الأول من نوعه في المملكة العربية السعودية، حيث يقع ضمن مشروع منطقة ميسم متعدد الاستخدامات و الذي تقوم بتطويره شركة شمايل المتحدة للتنمية، و يقع المشروع بالقرب من مشروع مدينة المملكة و ميناء أبحر.
و تعمل كريستال لاغونز بالتعاون مع شركة الأرجان للاستثمار لتطوير المجمعات السياحية المتكاملة على مشروع بمساحة 50 هكتاراَ و سيضم بحيرة كريستالية بمساحة أربعة هكتارات، و يقع المشروع على مسافة 50 كيلومتراَ الى الغرب من وسط مدينة مسقط، و من المتوقع الانتهاء من المشروع خلال عام 2017.
و تعمل الشركة حالياَ على أربعة مشروعات في جمهورية مصر العربية، و تضم بحيرة بمساحة 12.2 هكتاراَ ضمن مشروع سيتي ستارز شرم الشيخ، بالاضافة الى مشاريع أخرى و هي راداميس لاجون في شرم الشيخ، و مشروع بحيرة البجع في الساحل الشمالي، و مشروع جولف بورتو مارينا في الساحل الشمالي.
يشار إلى أن محفظة مشاريع كريستال لاغونز تضم 300 بحيرة بللورية في 60 دولة في امريكا الجنوبية والشرق الأوسط. وقد حازت الشركة على رقمين قياسيين من موسوعة غينيس من خلال بحيرة سان الفونسو ديلمار في تشيلي وبحيرة شرم الشيخ في مصر التي تعد حاليا أكبر بحيرة اصطناعية في العالم حيث تبلغ مساحتها 12 هكتارا.
