Achievement is part of Dubai Smart Government's quest to enhance customer confidence in smart services
UAE, May 2, 2015 - Dubai Smart Government Department (DSG) has achieved a further milestone by winning the information security award in the category of "Best Information Security Program Implementation" in the field of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for online and Smartphone payment services (ePay and mPay). The award was given by the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC 2015) in its 3rd edition, and received by Mira Sultan, Director of Information Security Department at DSG.
The award followed DSG's success in meeting all the requirements and compliance with applicable practices and standards for payment card data protection under the scope of the electronic payment services. This includes operational procedures, HR and technological resources with the aim of ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality for ePayment card operations and enhancing the protection of card owners through a fully equipped and secure infrastructure. Compliance with the standard is checked regularly.
H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, DSG Director General, said: "As part of its strategy, DSG is keen on abiding by the highest information security standards, this being one of the most important factors that we always take into account in all our services in line with the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to shift to smart government and ensure the provision smart services of high reliability that bring happiness to customers and meet their satisfaction."
Bin Humaidan added: "Winning the information security award shows our keenness on promoting the optimum implementation of our information technology projects and electronic security applications. It also reflects how far we are committed to applying international information security standards to improve the performance of services in general. The award is endorses the quality of the services provided to customers and hence enhances the confidence of our customers in our smart services”.
Bin Humaidan concluded that the award was related not only with how to build information technology services in DSG but also with the ongoing procedures taken by the competent teams to continually develop, upgrade, manage and document these services a manner that ensures sustainable round-the-clock provision of services to customers in the best and speediest way possible.

"حكومة دبي الذكية" تحصد الجائزة الأولى في أمن المعلومات
الإمارات، 2 مايو، 2015 - حققت دائرة حكومة دبي الذكية إنجازاً جديداً يضاف إلى سلة إنجازاتها، حيث حصدت الجائزة الأولى في أمن المعلومات عن فئة أفضل تطبيق لبرنامج أمن المعلومات في مجال أمن بيانات بطاقات الدفع PCI DSS لخدمات الدفع الإلكتروني عبر الإنترنت والهواتف الذكية (ePay and mPay)، وذلك من قبل معرض ومؤتمر الخليج لأمن المعلومات "جيسك 2015" الذي عقد في دورته الثالثة، حيث احتشدت فيه أبرز الفعاليات المعنية بأمن تقنية المعلومات في المنطقة. وتسلمت الجائزة نيابة عن الدائرة ميرة سلطان، مدير إدارة أمن المعلومات.
ويأتي منح هذه الجائزة للدائرة بعد نجاحها في مطابقة جميع المتطلبات، وتوافق الممارسات والمعايير اللازمة المطبقة مع متطلبات حماية بيانات بطاقات الدفع في جميع العناصر التشغيلية الواقعة تحت نطاق بيئة خدمات الدفع الإلكتروني، والتي تشمل الموارد البشرية العاملة والإجراءات التشغيلية والموارد التكنولوجية لضمان أعلى مستويات السرية على البيانات الخاصة بعمليات بطاقات الدفع الإلكتروني، وتعزيز الحماية اللازمة لأصحابها عبر بنية تحتية مجهزة وآمنة لتحقيق ذلك. ويتم التأكد من الالتزام بالمعيار بشكل دوري.
وقال سعادة أحمد بن حميدان، مدير عام دائرة حكومة دبي الذكية: "تحرص الدائرة ضمن استراتيجيتها على الالتزام بتطبيق أعلى معايير أمن المعلومات باعتبار ذلك من أهم العوامل التي نسعى دائماً لأخذها بعين الاعتبار في جميع خدماتنا في إطار تطبيق مبادرة صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، بالتحول إلى الحكومة الذكية، وضمان تقديم خدمات ذكية ذات موثوقية عالية تحقق إسعاد المتعاملين ورضاهم".
وأضاف بن حميدان قائلاً: "إن حصولنا على جائزة أمن المعلومات يؤكد حرصنا على تعزيز التطبيق الأمثل لمشروعات تكنولوجيا المعلومات وتطبيقات الأمن الإلكتروني التي نستخدمها، ومدى التزامنا بتطبيق المعايير العالمية في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات لتحسين أداء الخدمات عموماً، ويعتبر وثيقة معتمدة لجودة خدماتنا المقدمة للمتعاملين، الأمر الذي يعزز ثقة متعاملينا في الخدمات الذكية التي نقدمها لهم".
وأوضح بن حميدان أن هذه الجائزة لا تُعنى فقط بكيفية بناء خدمات تكنولوجيا المعلومات داخل الدائرة، بل تُعنى أيضاً بالإجراءات المستمرة التي يتم اتخاذها من الفرق المختصة لدينا لتطوير هذه الخدمات بشكل دائم، وتحديثها وإدارتها وتوثيقها؛ بما يضمن استدامة توفير الخدمات للمتعاملين بأفضل صورة ممكنة وفي أسرع وقت على مدار الساعة.
