Advancing Sustainability through disclosure
Dubai, UAE, May 24th, 2015: In its quest for disseminating transparency and disclosure in the Arab region, The Arabia CSR Network has proudly conducted the very first GRI G4 Sustainability Training in Muscat, Oman. The three-day training was conducted by the Arabia CSR Network and organized by Tawasul in May 2015. Participants of the G4 training included representatives of government, private sector and civil society spanning the Oil & Gas, telecommunications, construction and NGO sectors. GRI has set December 2015 as the cut-off date of the last reporting cycle to be based on the G3 and G3.1 Guidelines which is why organisations should start making the transition immediately to adhere to this requirement.

Transparency is becoming increasingly central to the region’s current sustainability context and in the near future, disclosure will become an imperative for addressing its associated challenges.’’
The Training is the 4th to be conducted based on the Global Reporting Initiative’s G4 Guidelines and has attracted much positive feedback from the participants in the social media. ’’The training was an excellent opportunity to fully understand the process of publishing a G4 Report,’’stated one of the participants of the Oman training. ‘’GRI sheds light on all aspects of corporate impact, moving reporting from generic CSR to detailed sustainability,’’ stated another.
The GRI Training held in Oman is one of six that have been planned for the year with subsequent courses taking place in September, November and December.
ACSRN continues to face challenges with the lack of awareness on the importance of reporting for public and private organisations in the Arab. Regulations and legislations on reporting are required to incentivize and secure the commitment of organisations for the advancement of sustainable practices.
To date, ACSRN has imparted 21 GRI certified trainings to 158 professionals representing 109 organizations. The organization is promoted as the premium CSR and sustainability capacity building platform in the Arab world, offering professional training specifically designed to enhance ability around corporate responsibility and sustainability. In addition to its partnership with GRI, ACSRN has teamed up with other various acclaimed institutions, such as AIM, UNGC, and SROI to train companies in the region in various aspects of CSR and sustainability.
الشبكة العربية للمسؤولية الإجتماعية للمؤسسات تنظم أولى دوراتها التدريبية في عُمان
حبيبة المرعشي: 21 دورة تدريبية إستفاد منها 158 من المهنيين يمثلون 109 منظمة
دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 24، مايو، 2015: ضمن سعيها لنشر الشفافية واعداد تقارير الاستدامة في المنطقة العربية، أجرت الشبكة العربية للمسؤولية الاجتماعية للمؤسسات أول تدريب لها حول تقارير الإستدامة بإستخدام الإطار الرابع لوثيقة الإرشادات الصادرة عن المبادرة العالمية لإعداد التقارير GRI في سلطنة عمان، حيث إشتمل التدريب الذي إستمر لـ 3 أيام تدريب المشاركين من ممثلي الحكومة والقطاع الخاص والمجتمع المدني، على كيفية إعداد التقارير العالمية وفق الجيل الرابع، ما يعتبر بدوره نقلة نوعية في توجه المؤسسات لتعزيز مسؤوليتها المجتمعية وتحقيق الإستدامة في عملها، مع إتخاذ المبادرة خطوة جديدة حيث طورت عملية إعداد التقارير من الجيل الثالث مرورا بالاصدار G3.1 وصولا إلى G4، ما يستدعي بلامؤسسات إلى البدء بعملية التحول فوراً لمواكبة هذه الخطوات.
وقالت السيدة حبيبة المرعشي الرئيس والمدير التنفيذي للشبكة '' إن الشبكة عبارة عن منصة إقليمية تعمل على نشر جهودها لضمان بناء قدرات المؤسسات لإعداد تقارير الاستدامة في جميع الدول العربية، ونحن ملتزمون بالبحث عن فرص لنشر الوعي اللازم بشأن الافصاح عن الاستدامة كأداة أساسية للتنمية المستدامة بدلاً من اعتماد نهج استجابة من مساهمينا بشكل استباقي''.
وأضافت أن '' الاستدامة مفهوم واسع جداً، وعلى الرغم من أن التقارير تعتبر جانباً واحداً فقط من الممارسات المسؤولة في المؤسسات، إلا أن الرصد والتحسين المستمر يعتبر أمراً ضرورياً لتحسين هيكلها المستدام تماشياً مع توقعات أصحاب المصلحة، حيث أصبحت الشفافية متطلباً أساسياً في سياق الاستدامة الحالية في المنطقة وفي المستقبل القريب، ومن هنا يعتبر الكشف عن الممارسات العملية أمراً حتمياً لمواجهة التحديات المرتبطة بها ''.
وأوضحت أن هذا التدريب يعتبر رابع تدريب تجريه الشبكة على أساس الاصدار الرابع لمبادرة الإبلاغ العالمية، والذي حظي بالكثير من ردود الفعل الإيجابية من المشاركين في وسائل الإعلام الاجتماعي حيث كان بمثابة فرصة ممتازة لفهم كامل عملية نشر التقارير وفق للتدريب.
وقال أحد المشاركين في التدريب '' إن مبادرة إعداد التقارير العالمية تسلط الضوء على جميع جوانب تأثير المؤسسات، وصولا للإفصاح عن المسؤولية الاجتماعية لتحقيق الاستدامة المفصلة ''.
وأشارت السيدة المرعشي إلى أن التدريب الذي عقد في عمان يعتبر واحد من 6 دورات تدريبية خططت الشبكة لإجرائها في أشهر سبتمبر ونوفمبر وديسمبر، مؤكدة على مواصلة الشبكة سعيها لنشر ثقافة أهمية اعداد تقارير الاستدامة في المؤسسات العامة والخاصة في العالم العربي لتحفيز وضمان التزامها للنهوض بالممارسات المستدامة.
وقالت إنه حتى الآن، قامت الشبكة بإجراء 21 دورة تدريبية إستفاد منها 158 من المهنيين يمثلون 109 منظمة ، مؤكدة أنها تعتبر منصة لبناء قدرات الاستدامة في العالم العربي والتي تعمل بدورها على تشجيع المؤسسات لبناء قدراتها فيما يتعلق بالمسؤولية الاجتماعية، من خلال تقديم التدريب المهني المصمم خصيصاً لتعزيز القدرة حول مسؤولية المؤسسات والاستدامة.
وأضافت أنه فضلا عن شراكة الشبكة مع مبادرة GRI، فقد تعاونت مع العديد من المؤسسات المشهود لها في مجال المسؤولية الإجتماعية، مثل AIM، UNGC، وSROI وذلك لتدريب المؤسسات في المنطقة على مختلف جوانب برامج المسؤولية الإجتماعية للشركات والإستدامة.
