TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE / ME NewsWire)-- Toshiba Corporation's (TOKYO: 6502) Semiconductor & Storage Products Company has reinforced its line-up of BSI CMOS image sensors with the introduction of the “T4KA7”, a new 20-megapixel(MP) device with an optical format of 1/2.4 inch.

The 20MP resolution of the new sensor puts it in the highest class of CMOS sensors for smartphones and tablets, and ensures display of crisp, detailed images, even when zooming in close with digital zoom.
The sensor’s 1.12 micrometer pixel size supports an optical format of 1/2.4 inch and makes possible the realization of camera modules with a height of 6mm or less for mobile devices.
“T4KA7” employs the same high speed circuit technology used in Toshiba’s latest products[1] which pushes the frame rate to a new high of 22 fps, 1.8 times faster than its previous 20MP sensor[2].
With its new 20MP CMOS image sensor，Toshiba makes it possible for manufacturers to build slimmer smartphones and tablets equipped with higher resolution cameras.

طوكيو-(بزنيس واير/ميدل ايست نيوز واير): قامت اليوم شركة "توشيبا" لأشباه الموصلات ومنتجات التخزين (المدرجة في بورصة طوكيو تحت الرمز: TOKYO:6502) بتعزيز مجموعتها لمستشعرات الصور بتقنية شبه موصل أكسيد الفلز المكمـِّل "سيموس" ("سي إم أو إس") وبتقنية الإضاءة الخلفية ("بي إس آي") مع طرح "تي 4 كي إيه 7" وهو جهاز بدقة 20 ميجابكسل بقياس بصري بقياس 1/2.4 بوصة.
وتبدأ الشركة شحنات الإنتاج التجاري اليوم.
وتساهم دقة المستشعر الجديد بقياس 20 ميجابكسل بوضعه في أفضل فئة من المستشعرات المزودة بتقنية "سيموس" للهواتف الذكية والأجهزة اللوحية، ويضمن شاشة عرض واضحة، وصور تفصيلية، حتى عند تكبير الصورة مع التكبير الرقمي.
ويدعم حجم البكسل بقياس 1.12 ميكرومتر الذي يقدمه المستشعر قياساً بصرياً يبلغ 1/2.4 بوصة، ويجعل من الممكن تحقيق نماذج كاميرات ذات ارتفاع 6 ميليمتر أو أقل للأجهزة الجوالة.
