• Over 2,500 people travel from across the country to attend food festival
• Footfall represented 150% leap from Valentines Market held in February
• Event included cuisine and cultural performances from around the world
More
than 2,500 people attended this years’ Spring Food Festival at Al Hamra
Village, the developer behind the master-planned community Ras Al
Khaimah has confirmed.
Families
and residents travelled from all over UAE to attend the 5 hour event on
20 March and joined in celebrations of the onset of spring. Those who
did so were treated to flavours from around the world, and performances
from local and regional dance groups, said Al Hamra Real Estate
Development Head of Commercial, Barry Ebrahimy.
“More
than 1,000 people attended our Valentines market in February, so to
have 2,500 people at the Spring Food Festival just a month later, is
encouraging. It is also a positive sign for the festival itself, which
is only really in its second full year,” said Mr Ebrahimy.
As
with the 2014 festival, this years’ Spring Food Festival included pop
up restaurants, live cooking stations, live music, and dance
performances. F&B and retail vendors took over the Marina boardwalk,
offering visitors a number of well-known Emirati dishes, as well as
street food from India and foods representing China, Italy, Japan, and
the US.
Among
the list of vendors participating at the event was Red Star Wok, Pesto
Ristorante, Shake Shack, and Fruffles. The festivieis included
performances from RAK Academy students; Emirati culture groups, and
Arabian, Bollywood, street and ballet dances.
