Cairo, Egypt, January 30, 2015
During a meeting with the Governor of Menoufia, Mr. Sherine Ahmed Fawzi, JTI (Japan Tobacco International) announced the donation of street cleaning equipment and a garbage removal car to assist in the beautification efforts of the city of Shebin Elkom, the capital of Menoufia Governorate, in order to improve the well-being of its citizens.
The Menoufia Governorate was chosen for this Community Investment project as the JTI factories are located in the governorate and the vast majority of the company’s employees in Egypt live there.
“At JTI, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate.” said Ayman El-Abbassi, General Manager, JTI Egypt. “Such projects are important for the welfare of the citizens who live in Menoufia and we will continue to support our community and tackle challenges both within and outside our direct operations for the benefit of Egyptians across the country.”
The initiative is part of JTI’s ongoing efforts to work closely with the government to enhance services provided to the local community. This is in line with the company’s international commitment to corporate social responsibility, which focuses on a number of key areas including sustainability and environmental management.

خلال اجتماعها مع السيد الدكتور/ أحمد شرين فوزى، محافظ المنوفية، قامت شركة "جابان توباكو إنترناشيونال" (جي تي أي) بتسليم تبرعها من أدوات ومعدات نظافة وصناديق لجمع القمامة بالاضافة الي سيارة لنقل المخلفات ، وذلك في اطار دعم جهود المحافظة في مجال نظافة وتجميل مدينة شبين الكوم عاصمة محافظة المنوفية ولتحسين الظروف المعيشية لسكان المدينة.
وقد تم إختيار محافظة المنوفية لمشروع الخدمة المجتمعية من قبل شركة "جي تي أي" حيث ان مصانع الشركة مقرها مدينة شبين الكوم والغالبية العظمي من موظفي الشركة من قاطني محافظة المنوفية.
وقد صرح الاستاذ/ أيمن العباسي، مدير عام شركة "جي تي أي" في مصر: "نحن في جي تي أي ملتزمون بدعم المجتمعات التي نتواجد بها خاصة وان مثل هذه المشروعات لها مردود ايجابي علي مواطني محافظة المنوفية واننا كشركة جي تي أي سنظل نواجه التحديات داخل وخارج دائرة أعمالنا بما يحقق الصالح العام للمصريين بكافة ارجاء البلاد.".
هذه المبادرة هي جزء من جهود شركة جي تي أي المتواصلة للعمل مع الجهات الحكومية لتحسين مستوى الخدمات المقدمة للسكان والمجتمع وهو الامر الذي يتوافق مع الالتزام الدولي للشركة نحو مشروعات المسؤلية المجتمعية التي تركز علي عدد من الموضوعات الهامة من بينها التنمية المستدامة وادارة البيئة.
