It is 'Art with a Punch'. FISTICUFFS - a fascinating group exhibition curated by H.H. Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum opened last evening at FN Designs. The month-long show, supported by HMH - Hospitality Management Holdings brings together works of 32 local artists who have chosen punching bags as their canvas producing absolutely knockout works. The exhibition, with its bold mix of styles ranging from street art to typography, calligraphy, abstract art, sketches, drawings, illustrations, murals and more echoes both fantasy and realism with a graphic intensity.
Commenting on the exhibition, H.H. Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum, said, "Merging art and sports has been a growing tradition at FN Designs. Each participating artist was given a blank canvas to paint not knowing what the final outcome would be. And the result was FISTICUFFS - an attempt to bring alive their imagination in a boxing arena. The artists typically take their cues from emotions, spaces and subjects surrounding them converting them into striking revelations. Yet, like every abstract art, these do not spell out everything. The viewers are left free to rough it out in the ring".

المعرض الفني الجماعي "الملاكمون" يفتتح في أف أن ديزاينز
إنه "فن له لكمة". الملاكمون – معرض فني جماعي رائع تحت رعاية سمو الشيخة وفاء حشر آل مكتوم، افتتح الليلة الماضية في أف أن ديزاينز. المعرض يستمر على مدار شهر، وتدعمه أتش أم أتش- القابضة لإدارة الضيافة ويضم أعمال 32 فنانا محليا اختاروا أكياس اللكم لتكون القماش الذي يرسمون عليه ليقدموا أعمالا رائعة. المعرض، بمزيجه الجريء من الأساليب التي تتطور من فن الشارع إلى الطباعة، الخط، الفن التجريدي، الخطوط المبدئية، الرسومات، الرسوم التوضيحية والجداريات وأصداء أكثر من الخيال والواقعية معا مع كثافة في الرسم.
وتعليقا على المعرض، قالت سمو الشيخة وفاء حشر آل مكتوم، إن: "الدمج بين الفن والرياضة هو تقليد متزايد لدى أف أن ديزاينز. تم منح كل فنان مشارك قطعة قماش خالية ليرسم عليها دون أن نعرف ما ستكون عليه المحصلة النهائية. والنتيجة "الملاكمون" – محاولة لإحياء خيالهم في حلبة الملاكمة. إذ استوحي الفنانون مفرداتهم من المشاعر، الأماكن والأشياء المحيطة بهم ليحولوها إلى لوحات مبهرة. ومع ذلك، مثل كل فن تجريدي، فهي لا تفصح عن كل شيء. المشاهدون لهم مطلق الحرية في أن يفسروها كما يشاؤون".
يقول لوران أ. فوافنيل، المدير التنفيذي، أتش أم أتش – القابضة لإدارة الضيافة،: "يسعدنا أن ندعم هذا المعرض المتفرد الذي تقيمه أف أن ديزاينز التي تستكشف وتفتح أبعادا جديدة للفن. الملاكمون يفاجيء زائريه بقوة كبيرة. إنه يقودنا في متاهة غامضة مملؤة بالحركة والإثارة لنكتشف المجهول. لذلك، ضعوا قفازات الملاكمة قبل أن تذهبوا هناك!."
يستمر معرض "الملاكمون" في أف أن ديزاينز لمدة شهر وسوف يفتح أبوابه للجمهور يوميا من الساعة 10 صباحا إلى 8 مساء. أف أن ديزاينز يقع في 26 شارع السركال، القوز، شارع 8 في دبي.
