Lebanon – December 8th 2014 - The Coca-Cola Foundation in
partnership with Injaz Al-Arab have initiated a new semester of the Ripples of
Happiness program across the region. Drawing velocity from its previous successes,
the program now returns in full force with the goal of empowering the youth of
the region and giving them a nudge in the right direction to create a small
difference, with a big chain reaction.
Currently, the
program has grown to demand a remarkable presence in six countries and four
universities in each. The program now takes place simultaneously across
Palestine, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan and most recently the United
Arab Emirates. Over 1,465 students and 82 volunteers have joined forces and
executed over 17,400 hours of community service with ripples washing over a
countless number of communities and people. The objective of the program to
create an opportunity to train university students in the art of identifying
opportunities in their local communities and how to implement projects that
will leave a positive impact as a strategy to encourage other members of
society to follow their lead, thus creating a ‘ripples effect’ that will
continue to spread from one generation to another.

school classrooms to provide students with business and entrepreneurial skills.

Injaz al Arab stands for.”
Last semester’s winning
project came from the University of Bahrain, and was named ‘Keep an Eye’ which sought
to tackle a very serious issue that plagues many countries that experience
unforgiving heat. The students were inspired by a tragic incident that took
place September of 2013, when five year old Rashid Fadhel was forgotten inside
a bus and died due to intensive heat and asphyxiation. Unfortunately, these
kinds of incidents are common all over the world, and these empathic students
were adamant in finding a solution. Their objective was to ensure the safety of
children by devising a way to keep track of the number of students getting on
and off the bus. They accomplished this by building a laser detective sensor
installed at the door that alerts the driver to the number of students,
guaranteeing that no child gets left behind. It’s projects like this that
crystalize the need to tap into the reservoir of potential that lie within the
youth today.

برنامج "أمواج فرح" لتمكين الشباب الذي تقدمه مؤسسة كوكاكولا يبدأ دورة جديدة في الشرق الأوسط
بيروت- 8 كانون الأول 2014 – أطلقت مؤسسة كوكاكولا بالشراكة مع منظمة "إنجاز العرب" دورة جديدة من برنامج "أمواج فرح" في جميع أنحاء المنطقة العربية. ويعود البرنامج الذي يستمد قوته من نجاحاته السابقة، الآن بقوة بهدف تمكين شباب المنطقة وتحفيزهم ودفعهم في الاتجاه الصحيح لخلق مبادرات
صغيرة تكون لها تأثيرات كبيرة.
وقد توسع البرنامج حالياً بحيث أصبح له تواجد قوي في ست دول وأربع جامعات في كل منها، حيث يجري تطبيق البرنامج في نفس الوقت في كل من فلسطين والبحرين والسعودية ولبنان والأردن ومؤخرا في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. ويشارك في البرنامج أكثر من 1465 طالباً و82 متطوعاً قدموا أكثر من 17,400 ساعة خدمة اجتماعية طال تأثيرها عدداً كبير من المجتمعات والأشخاص. ويهدف البرنامج إلى تدريب طلاب الجامعات على طرق تحديد الفرص في المجتمعات المحلية وكيفية تطبيق المشاريع التي تترك تأثيراً إيجابياً كتشجع أفراداً آخرين في المجتمع على أن يحذو حذوهم بشكل يخلق "موجة من التأثير الإيجابي" تواصل انتشارها من جيل إلى جيل.
وبهذه المناسبة قال أنطون طيار مدير العلاقات العامة والاتصالات في شركة كوكاكولا الشرق الأوسط: "نحن متشوقون جداً لرؤية ما سيقوم به الطلاب خلال هذه المرحلة، فالشباب هم نبض المجتمع، ولذلك فإنه من المهم للغاية تحفيظ الوعي المجتمعي في قلوبهم وعقولهم. وهذا هو جوهر برنامج أمواج فرح، أي خلق المبادرةو التطوعية شعور بالتحفيز الذاتي والثقة والتمكين وتعزيز ذهنية "كل شيء ممكن" بين الشباب العربي. وشراكتنا مع منظمة إنجاز العرب هي جزء أساسي في هذا الجهد انطلاقا من الحاجة إلى وجود برنامج يجمع القطاعين الخاص والعام في التعليم من خلال تقديم متطوعين من القطاع الخاص إلى المدارس الحكومية لتزويد الطلاب بمهارات الأعمال وريادة الأعمال".
وقال الشيخ خالد بن زايد بن صقر آل نهيان، رئيس انجاز الإمارات
العربية المتحدة وانجاز العرب: "إننا سعداء بالشراكة مرة أخرى مع مؤسسة كوكاكولا
لبدء دورة جديدة من برنامج أمواج الفرح، والتي تساهم المؤسسة من خلاله في غرس روح
الاستعداد والحماس في نفوس الطلاب الشباب بما يمكنهم من ترك أثر إيجابي في
مجتمعاتهم، وهي مسألة في صلب اهتمام منظمة انجاز العرب".
وكان المشروع الذي قدمته جامعة البحرين قد فاز بمسابقة الفصل
الدراسي الأخير. وهدف المشروع المسمى "عين المراقبة" إلى معالجة مسألة
خطيرة تواجهها الكثير من الدول التي تشهد درجات حرارة عالية. واستلهم
الطلاب فكرة المشروع من حادث مأساوي وقع في سبتمبر 2013
عندما تم نسيان الطفل راشد فاضل داخل حافلة وتوفي نتيجة الحرارة العالية والاختناق. وللأسف، ينتشر هذا النوع من الحوادث في أنحاء العالم
كافة، وهو ما دفع طلاب الجامعة إلى الإصرار على إيجاد حل لها. وكان هدفهم ضمان
سلامة الأطفال عن طريق إيجاد وسيلة لمعرفة عدد التلاميذ الذين يستقلون ويغادرون
الحافلة. وقد تمكنوا
من انجاز ذلك عبر ابتكار طريقة لتعقّب ومراقبة عدد الطلاب
الداخلين والخارجين من وإلى الحافلة. وحققوا هذا الهدف عبر تطوير جهاز استشعار يعمل
بأشعة الليزر ويركّب على باب الحافلة لينبه السائق إلى عدد الطلاب بما يضمن
أن لا يترك احدهم داخل الحافلة. إن مثل هذه المشاريع هي التي
تبرز الحاجة إلى الاستفادة من طاقات الشباب في هذا العصر.
