Climate Control Middle East awards company for its implementation of Biological Odor Control Plant technology in the UAE, a Corodex Industries technology aimed at eliminating odorous air from Municipal Systems

Corodex Industries, part of Concorde – Corodex Group (CCG), one of the Middle East’s pioneering providers of water, wastewater treatment and environmental services, has been named winner of the ‘Manufacturer of the Year – Air Treatment’ category of this year’s Climate Control Awards during its Gala Awards Ceremony held last November 19, 2014 in Dubai. The award was given in recognition of the company’s successful innovative installation of a Biological Odor Control Plant in the United Arab Emirates.
Breaking away from the conventional odor control technologies such as chemical scrubber and carbon adsorption for treating odorous air in wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and lifting stations, Corodex Industries designed an innovative bio-friendly technology of removing contaminants from air streams by means of sulfur-reducing bacteria and other types of bacteria for Sharjah Municipality, Dubai Municipality, Haya, and other municipalities in the region.
“We are truly honored to be given this award from Climate Control Middle East, which recognizes our continuing focus on innovation and breaking barriers when it comes to the development of engineering solutions,” said Mahmoud Awad, Managing Director of Concorde – Corodex Group.
“We developed this technology with the aim of exploring different means available to reduce operational costs involved since conventional technologies such as, chemical oxidation and absorption technologies, are very high in operational expenditure. In addition, these processes force you to use chemicals with the chemical absorption which cost money and more significantly, involve environment, health and safety risks. We found a solution that is slightly expensive in capital cost but considerably low in operational and maintenance costs.” explained Awad.
The annual Climate Control Awards is organized by CPI Industry, the publishers of Climate Control Middle East magazine. This year's edition of the awards saw its largest attendance ever with over 400 attendees coming from all over the globe and 31 categories in competition.

حصلت "كورودكس إندستريز" (Corodex Industries)، الشركة التابعة لمجموعة "كونكورد-كورودكس" (Concorde-Corodex Group)، التي تعتبر واحدة من أبرز مزودي حلول مكافحة الحريق ومعالجة المياه والصرف الصحي والخدمات البيئية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، على جائزة "أفضل مُصنّع لهذا العام عن فئة معالجة وتنقية الهواء (Manufacturer of the Year – Air Treatment). وجاء ذلك خلال الحفل الرسمي لتسليم جوائز "كلايمت كونترول" (Climate Control Awards) لهذا العام والذي أقيم في 19 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني الماضي في دبي. وتم منح الشركة هذه الجائزة تقديراً لنجاحها في إعداد وتطبيق تقنية المحطات البيولوجية لمعالجة الهواء (Biological Odor Control Plant) في دولة الإمارات.
وبعيداً عن الأساليب التقليدية لمعالجة الروائح في محطات الصرف الصحي كأجهزة التنظيف الكيميائي، وعمليات تكثيف جزيئات الكربون، ومحطات الضخ والرفع، قامت شركة "كورودكس إندستريز" بإبتكار وتصميم تقنية آمنة بيئياً لإزالة الملوثات الموجودة في الهواء ويطلق عليها "بكتيريا الكبريت" وهي بكتيريا ذاتية التغذية تعمل على تحويل كبريتيد الهيدروجين H2S ومركبات كبريت أخرى مثل الثيوسلفات (S2O32-) إلى كبريت نقي أو كبريتات. وقد قامت الشركة بتطبيق هذه التقنية المبتكرة لبلدية الشارقة، وبلدية دبي، وشركة حيا للمياة بالاضافة إلى العديد من البلديات الأخرى في منطقة الخليج.
وقال محمود عوض، المدير العام لمجموعة "كونكورد- كورودكس": "نحن فخورون حقاً بالحصول على هذه الجائزة من قبل مجلة "كلايمت كونترول ميدل إيست" (Climate Control Middle East) تقديراً لجهودنا المستمرة في مجال الإبتكار ووصولنا إلى آفاقٍ جديدة عندما يتعلق الأمر بتطوير الحلول الهندسية. لقد قمنا بإبتكار وتطوير هذه التقنية بهدف إتاحة وسائل متعددة وسبل مختلفة للحدّ من التكاليف الباهظة الناتجة عن إدارة وتشغيل الوسائل التقليدية سالفة الذكر، غير أن هذه الوسائل ذات مخاطر تهدد البيئة والصحة والسلامة. لذلك قمنا بإكتشاف هذه التقنية الآمنة بيئا وصحياً والتي لا تهدد السلامة العامة. ومع إنّ سعرها أعلى قليلاً من الوسائل الأخرى لكن إدارة تشغيلها وصيانتها ذات تكلفة أقل بكثير من تلك الوسائل".
ويتمّ تنظيم حفل توزيع جوائز "كلايمت كونترول" السنوية من قبل "سي. بي. آي. إندستري" (CPI Industry)، الشركة الناشرة لمجلة "كلايمت كونترول ميدل إيست". وشهدت نسخة هذا العام من الجوائز أكبر حضور لها على الإطلاق بواقع 400 شخص من كافة أنحاء العالم وشملت 31 فئة.
واختتم عوض: "نحن فخورون بالأنظمة التي قمنا بتنفيذها في المنطقة والتي تعكس رسالتنا المتمثّلة بالعمل على الإستفادة من أحدث التقنيات. ونود أن نعبّر عن شكرنا لـ "كلايمت كونترول الشرق الأوسط" على منحنا هذه الجائزة، وسنواصل إلتزامنا بتوفير الحلول التي تُسهِم في حماية البيئة وحياة الناس".
