Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 17th November 2014 – Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas, the cinema arm of Majid Al
Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the
Middle East and North Africa is ushering in the future of cinema entertainment for
the UAE with its most ambitious cinema to-date, VOX
Cinemas at Yas Mall. The latest cinema to open for the Middle East’s largest
cinema chain will bring movie-goers in Abu Dhabi a series of firsts for the
emirate: the single largest cinema screen at 23.5 metres wide, the most screens
under one roof with a total of 20, the first VOX 4DX cinema experience, two enormous
VOX MAX screens both home to Dolby Atmos multi-dimensional sound systems, the largest
selection of VIP VOX GOLD cinemas, plus the country’s first child-friendly,
branded party cinema. As the ‘must
visit’ entertainment destination in Abu Dhabi, VOX Cinemas at Yas Mall is truly
redefining the cinema landscape and customers will be spoilt for choice with all
of the latest cinema concepts available within one cinema complex.

no longer want to experience every movie in the same format, but now have the
option to choose between 2D, 3D and 4DX, standard, VIP, VOX MAX, VOX GOLD and
even private cinema concepts on every visit,” added Mitchell.
VOX
Cinemas, Yas Island will show Arabic, Hollywood, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil,
Tagalog, Turkish and Russian films, as well as screen alternative entertainment
including concerts, the opera, gaming tournaments, and even show live football games.
Similarly
upgraded for the Yas Island location are the common areas, washrooms and even an
expansive service counter with 22 cashiers servicing our guests at any point in
time to provide a smooth and efficient journey. VOX Cinemas has also invested
in new digital scanning technology that will allow customers who have
pre-booked tickets online, to simply
scan their phone and head straight to their pre booked seat, without the need
to collect a ticket.
Welcoming
customers into the lap of luxury, VOX Cinemas Yas Mall presents not one – but
three luxurious VOX GOLD cinemas to cater to the growing number of movie-goers
preferring the most exclusive of cinema experiences. VIP treatment begins in
the dedicated premium lounge, as guests can order from a newly launched
three-course restaurant-style menu before they recline in the spacious, leather
seats, with waiter service available throughout the movie, whilst covered by a
blanket, resting comfortably with a pillow in your own private booth.
Perhaps
residents will be most delighted with the eagerly anticipated VOX 4DX concept,
which was previously only available in Dubai.
The 4DX effects elevate the movie-watching experience by mimicking a
range of sensations such as rain, wind, scent, movement and motion all
synchronised with the action on-screen to offer the most immersive experience possible
in cinema today. Movie goers will feel every turn and every tremor along with
the characters as if they were in the movie themselves. Having debuted in Dubai
last year to huge success, 4DX has developed a growing and loyal fan base that wants

Getting
a ‘big-screen’ experience ranked high on the list of priorities for Abu Dhabi’s
