Dubai Maritime City Authority launches ‘Exam in Your Office’ service to facilitate quick issuance of marine driving license



New facility to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, has announced the launch of a new service – ‘Exam in Your Office.’ It enables people who are interested in getting a marine driving license quickly and easily to do so without having to come to the Authority offices by contacting its customer service center at 8004806.

Once contacted, the Authority sends its delegates to the caller’s place in order to do an online theoretical test and grant the license upon successful completion. The new service is considered a quantum leap in terms of encouraging marine enthusiasts to take advantage of the marine licensing services. The service is within the regulatory framework to ensure maritime safety, safe navigation and operational efficiency along the local coastline and to consolidate Dubai’s leadership as an international maritime centre.

Adel Kalantar, Director - Registration and Licensing, Dubai Maritime City Authority, said that the DMCA is keen to facilitate the completion of maritime licensing operating procedures to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. He explained that the ‘Exam in Your Office’ service represents a continuation of the remarkable progress that has been made at the level of the marine licensing services within Dubai’s territorial waters.

Adel added: “At Dubai Maritime City Authority, we pay special attention to the development of themarine licensing services as we believe in its vital role in the embodiment of the maritime strategic plan objectives that aim at enhancing the competitiveness components of the maritime sector. It will uphold Dubai as major and pivotal player in the regional and global maritime industry, embodying the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

DMCA continues to apply the policy of marine driving licensing that falls within the framework of seeking to organize the marine jet ski and leisure craft operations to ensure the highest levels of maritime security and safety in Dubai. The fee of the ‘Exam in Your Office’ service is AED 500 to obtain a marine driver’s license and amounts to AED 610 in total along with service charge.

“The ‘Exam at Your Office’ service adds significant quality to marine licensing services that we seek to develop in line with our efforts to create an integrated, safe and sustainable maritime environment able to respond effectively to changes in the market. In addition, it keeps abreast with emerging trends, attracts regional and international investors, and strengthens Dubai’s leading position as a major player on the world maritime map,” Adel concluded.
