First-of-its-kind
event to feature extensive discussion on 'Standards of quality in smart
learning' and 'Smart learning applications'

15, 2014] – Hamdan
Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has revealed that it will be hosting a
series of online and interactive workshops during the inaugural edition of the
‘Smart Learning Best Practice Forum,’ a first-of-its-kind event aimed at
encouraging the exchange of best practices and the development of new online
learning standards for educational and academic training institutions from
around the world. The event will also promote creativity and innovation in
smart learning, which is deemed as an essential factor to ensure Dubai’s
successful transformation as a leading ‘Smart City’ model.
The
first workshop, entitled “Middle East e-Learning Quality Framework ‘MelQ’: Standardizing quality in technology enhanced
teaching and learning” will be facilitated by Dr. Souma Alhaj Ali, Director of
Institutional Governance & Excellence, HBMSU.
The session is set to tackle the need of educational and academic institutions
to devise and develop a comprehensive system for quality management that can
meet the demands and expectations of students, academic staff and the
community. The workshop will particularly highlight the qualifications and
features of the Middle East e-Learning Quality Framework (MelQ) system and the
quality standards it represents from the perspective of students and parties
concerned with education. It will be concluded with an interactive discussion
on how to measure the gap between the students' perceptions and the
expectations presented by the educational process itself. The session has been
specially designed to help the participants gain a better understanding of the
requirements, dimensions and standards of quality in smart education and
technology-
enhanced
learning while also highlighting the standards and indicators of the MeLQ
system, which was developed by HBMSU in cooperation with The Swiss Centre for
Innovations in Learning (SCIL).
The second workshop, entitled
‘Smart learning applications,’ will be headed by Dr. Amany Atef, Director of
Learning and Innovations Strategies, HBMSU. The session will comprise of three
levels--Basics of Smart Learning, Design of Smart Learning and Applications of
Smart Learning. The workshop aims to provide teachers, trainers, educators and
professionals who are interested in integrating smart learning within current
learning curricula at educational instructions, schools, universities and
companies, with the necessary knowledge about the essential concepts of smart
learning and enabling them to use learning technologies and smart learning
design tools innovatively and effectively to boost the educational process
towards smart learning.
Dr. Amany Atef, said, “It gives me

Practice Forum,’ which reflects the growing importance of smart learning and
its effective role as one of the key pillars to become a ‘smart city.’ I look
forward to interacting and communicating with the participants from all over
the world during the workshop—introducing them to the latest theories, concepts
and applications related to smart learning and ICT basics, which will
ultimately contribute in promoting innovation and creativity across the
industry. We are excited to host this workshop, which will offer an interactive
platform to facilitate the exchange of the latest information and best
practices in smart learning, the cornerstone to a better future.”
Aside from the two interactive
workshops, the exciting two-day event will also feature a series of best
practices shows & demonstrations and panel discussions centered on seven
key themes-- Smart Learning,
Learner Centricity, Excellence Orientation, Smart Partnership, Technology
Exploitation, Resource Utilization and Process Innovation. The panel
discussions will also include virtual online presentations given by participants
coming from other parts of the
world--representing a key step to raise the bar on the culture of smart
learning and encourage optimal usage of advanced technology. To date, the forum
has received global interest and key response, with confirmed attendances from
countries like United States, Australia, Russia, Italy, Greece, Nigeria,
Indonesia, India, KSA, Oman, Bahrain and the UAE.

تفاعلية بمشاركة دولية واسعة خلال "ملتقى أفضل التطبيقات في التعليم الذكي"

"جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" عن سلسلة ورش العمل اللاحقة للدورة الافتتاحية من "ملتقى أفضل التطبيقات في التعليم
الذكي"، الحدث الأوّل من نوعه الذي يهدف إلى تشجيع تبادل أفضل الممارسات ودعم
تطبيق أعلى المعايير في المؤسسات التعليمية والأكاديمية والتدريبية في مختلف أنحاء
العالم من أجل دفع عجلة التطوّر والنمو المستمرين للتعليم الذكي.
ومن المقرّر أن تقام ورشة العمل الأولى تحت عنوان "برنامج ضمان جودة
التعليم الإلكتروني في الشرق الأوسط (MeLQ):
"معايير الجودة في التعليم والتعلم الذكي" بإشراف الدكتورة سوما الحاج
علي، مدير مركز التميز والحوكمة في الجامعة، والتي ستتطرق إلى حاجة جميع المؤسسات
التعليمية لبناء نظام شامل لإدارة الجودة حسب احتياجات وتوقعات الطلاب والموظفين
والمجتمع وستستعرض الورشة معايير وملامح هذا النظام ومقاييس الجودة من وجهة نظر
الطلاب ومختلف المعنيين الداخليين والخارجيين وكيفية قياس الفجوة ما بين تصورات
الطلاب للعملية التعليمية وتوقعاتهم. وقد تم تصميم الورشة بهدف مساعدة المشاركين
على فهم متطلبات وابعاد ومعايير الجودة في التعليم الذكي والمعزز باستخدام
التكنولوجيا. كما وستتطرق الورشة الى معايير ومؤشرات اطار ضمان جودة التعليم الإلكتروني
في الشرق الأوسط "MeLQ" والذي تم تطويره من قبل
الجامعة بالتعاون مع المركز السّويسري للابتكارات في التّعليم (SCIL).
في حين تستند ورشة العمل الثانية حول "تطبيقات التعلم الذكي" والتي
ستقام بإشراف أماني عاطف، مدير إستراتيجيات التعليم والإبتكار في "جامعة
حمدان بن محمد الذكية"، إلى ثلاثة مستويات معرفية تشتمل على "أساسيات
التعلم الذكي" و"تصميم التعلم الذكي" و"تطبيقات التعلم
الذكي". وتهدف الورشة إلى إكساب المشاركين من معلمين ومدربين وعاملين
بالمدارس على جميع المستويات والمهتمين بدمج التعليم الذكي بالمناهج التعليمية والمؤسسات التعليمية والمـدارس والجامعات والشركات، المعرفة اللازمة حول
المفاهيم الأساسية المتعلقة بالتعليم الذكي وتمكينهم من إستخدام أدوات تكنولوجيا
التعليم وأدوات تصميم التعليم الذكي بشكل مبتكر وفعال للنهوض بالعملية التعليمية
نحو التعليم الذكي.
من جانبها، قالت أماني عاطف: "تشرفني المشاركة في الدورة الافتتاحية
من "ملتقى أفضل التطبيقات في التعليم الذكي" الذي يعكس الأهمية
المتزايدة التي يحظى بها التعليم الذكي ودوره الفاعل كأحد أبرز الدعائم الأساسية
للوصول إلى نموذج "المدينة الذكية". وأتطلع خلال الحدث إلى التواصل مع
المشاركين في ورشة العمل من مختلف أنحاء العالم لإطلاعهم على أحدث النظريات
والمفاهيم والتطبيقات المتعلقة بالتعليم الذكي والأساسيات المعرفية ذات الصلة
بتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في سبيل تعزيز الابتكار والإبداع في التعليم
الذكي. ونتطلع إلى انطلاق ورشة العمل التي ستمثل منصة تفاعلية لتسهيل تبادل أحدث
المعلومات وأفضل الممارسات المتعلقة بالتعليم الذكي الذي يمثل دعامة أساسية
للإنطلاق نحو مستقبل أفضل".
وإلى جانب ورشتي العمل، سيتخلل جدول أعمال الدورة الأولى من "ملتقى
أفضل التطبيقات في التعليم الذكي" سلسلة من عروض أفضل الممارسات والجلسات
النقاشية المتمحورة حول سبعة محاور رئيسية هي "التعليم الذكي"
و"المركزية حول المتعلم" و"التوجّه نحو التميز"
و"الشراكات الذكية" و"استغلال التقنيات" و"استخدام
الموارد" و"الابتكار في العمليات". وتجدر الإشارة إلى حصول الملتقى
على اهتمام دولي لافت، إذ يستقطب مشاركة واسعة من مختلف دول العالم، بما فيها
الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وأستراليا وروسيا وإيطاليا
واليونان
ونيجيريا وإندونيسيا والهند بالإضافة الى المملكة العربية السعودية وسلطنة عُمان
والبحرين ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وسيتميز الملتقى كذلك بمداخلات افتراضية عبر شبكة
الإنترنت من مشاركين من مختلف أنحاء العالم، وهو ما يمثل خطوة نوعية لنشر ثقافة
التعليم الذكي وتشجيع الاستفادة المثلى من التكنولوجيا الحديثة.
