Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced
today that it will host the first ever Routes MENA in the Kingdom of Bahrain in
November 2015. This inaugural event will see route development professionals
from across the MENA region gather to discuss air service development to, from,
and within the region in a three-day forum.
The Egyptian aviation industry has
experienced a number of challenges in recent years; however, industry reports
anticipate an increase in revenues fuelled by political and social
stability in the country and the addition and launch of new destinations and
routes. Egyptian airlines are also expected to expand their domestic and global
reach by adding new aircraft in response to the anticipated increase in traffic
volumes. Travellers from the MENA region account for the second highest rates
of inbound tourism to Egypt. The Routes MENA Event will provide an opportunity
for industry stakeholders from across the region, including Egypt, to discuss
the challenges, opportunities and future of air service in the Middle East and
North Africa.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is a small
island located in the Arabian Gulf with a history of aviation that dates back
to the early 1920's. Historically it has acted as a gateway between the East
and West providing a natural transit destination for early trade routes and a
strategic hub for the Northern Gulf. In addition to benefiting from a
significant strategic location, The Kingdom of Bahrain is also rich in history
and culture with some historical sites dating back more than 4,000 years.

from an aviation perspective. It represents nearly 11% of global aviation –
about double its share from a decade ago - driven by global hub strategies in
the Gulf and liberal aviation access policies,” said Katie Bland, Director

The Bahrain Airport Company is
currently in the design phase of a significant modernisation programme for
Bahrain International Airport with construction due to commence during Q2 of
2015. The Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys an open skies policy and offers
unrestricted access to a catchment area of more than 5m that extends to the
eastern province of Saudi Arabia.
Routes MENA will become part of

شركة مطار البحرين تستضيف أول مؤتمر“Routes MENA 2015”

أعلنت شركة مطار البحرين عن استضافتها المؤتمر
الافتتاحي العالمي Routes MENA 2015 في نسخته الأولى في منطقة الشرق الأوسط نهاية نوفمبر 2015. يعتبر مؤتمرRoutes
MENA ،
من أهم الأحداث على أجندة قطاع الطيران على مستوى العالم، حيث من المقرر أن يستقطب
وفود من جميع دول منطقة الشرق الاوسط وشمال افريقيا بالاضافة الى الخبراء وكبار
المسئولين في القطاع وسيتم خلال المؤتمر مناقشة أهم التطورات وسبل دعم الخدمات الجوية في المنطقة.
وفيما يخص صناعة الطيران في مصر، فقد واجهت مؤخرا
بعض التحديات، وذلك على الرغم من التقاريرالتي توقعت زيادة عوائد هذا القطاع
الحيوي نتيجة الإستقرار السياسي والإقتصادي في البلاد، بالإضافة لإطلاق رحلات
لوجهات جديدة، حيث أنه من المتوقع أن تعزز شركات الطيران المحلية في مصر من
إمكانياتها داخلياً وعالمياً، من خلال إضافة طائرات جديدة استجابة للزيادة المتوقعة
في حجم ومعدلات السفر.
جدير بالذكر أن عدد المسافرين من منطقة الشرق الأوسط
يمثل ثاني أعلى معدلات السياحة الوافدة إلى مصر لذلك فإن مؤتمر Routes
MENA يعتبر فرصة ثمينة للمهتمين بهذه الصناعة حيث سيتمكن المشاركون،
ومن بينهم مصر، من مناقشة التحديات التي تواجة صناعة الطيران، إلى جانب مناقشة
الفرص المتاحة ومستقبل صناعة الطيران في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا.
في هذا الإطار، صرح الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة
مطار البحرين السيد محمد يوسف البنفلاح: " نشعر اليوم بالفخر لاستضافة Routes MENA لأول مرة في المنطقة، حيث يعتبر هذا الحدث العالمي أحد أهم المنصات العالمية على اجندة قطاع الطيران، كما
أننا سعداء لاستضافة هذه الفعالية المرموقة، لأننا سنتمكن من خلالها أن نُظهر
لضيوفنا الكرام دفء الضيافة التي يتمتيز بها الشعب البحريني، وفي الوقت ذاته سيتسنى
لهم أن يتعرفوا على مدى كفاءة مطار البحرين الدولي".
وأكد السيد البنفلاح أن استضافة هذا الحدث لم
يكن ليتحقق لولا الجهود التي بذلها فريق العمل بشركة مطار البحرين والشركاء من
الجهات ذات الصلة، مشدداً على أن اقامته سيساهم في تعزيز مكانة المملكة كمركز
إقليمي في مجال الطيران وسيسلط الضوء على
تاريخ المملكة الثري في مجال الطيران.
تقع مملكة البحرين في منطقة الخليج العربي
وتتميز بتاريخ حافل في مجال الطيران يعود الى أوائل عام 1920 وبحكم موقعها
الجغرافي وثراء تاريخها، لطالما كانت المملكة مركزاً استراتيجياً لمنطقة الخليج
ونقطة عبور مهمة للقوافل التجارية القديمة تصل الشرق بالغرب. وعلاوة على موقعها
الاستراتيجي، فإن البحرين تمتلك ثراء تاريخياً وحضاريا يمتد عمرها لأكثر من 4 آلاف
سنة
من جانبها، قالت السيدة كاتي بلاند، مديرة Routes لدى شركة UBM Live: "إن
منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال افريقيا أصبحت مهمة جدا على صعيد صناعة الطيران، فنسبة
حصتها الآن تبلغ 11% من مجمل الطيران العالمي حيث تشكل هذه النسبة ضعف حصتها قبل
عقد من الزمن. وتعود هذه الطفرة في النشاط بمجال الطيران إلى زيادة الطلب على
السفر الى دول المنطقة بالاضافة الى التغيير في استراتيجيات دول منطقة الخليج
وسياسات السموات المفتوحة".
وأضافت السيدة بلاند: "نحن سعداء جداً
باستضافة شركة مطار البحرين الدولي لهذا الحدث والأول من نوعه في المنطقة ونتطلع
للعمل مع فريق العمل. سوف تركز الفعالية على مناقشة أهم التطورات حول الخدمات
الجوية من وإلى داخل منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا."
الجدير بالذكر بان شركة مطار البحرين تقوم
حالياً بالعمل على التصاميم الخاصة بمطار البحرين الدولي والتي تأتي ضمن برنامج
تحديث المطار، حيث من المقرر أن يتم البدء في عمليات البناء في الربع الثاني من
عام 2015.
