M.C.C. ELAF wins 2013 Asian Premier League
Jeddah, November 14, 2013 - Employees from leading companies in Jeddah came together to establish professional cricket teams and participated in the 2013 Asian Premier League, a cricket tournament held in the Khalid Bin Waleed Street Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. Headed by Captain Nizar Mohamed Thaib, Finance Manager of Elaf Group, the M.C.C. ELAF achieved tremendous success throughout the series held from 10th to 18th October 2013 and went on to win the champion’s trophy.
Mohamed Owais Sabir and Mohamed Rizan, also from Elaf Group, in addition to players from other companies that built up the team performed very well and made major contributions towards the victory of the team. The cricket teams were formed by employees of various groups of companies representing different sectors such as travel and tourism, cargo, telecommunications and automobiles.
Ziyad Bin Mahfouz, President Elaf Group, said: “The Asian Premier League was a good cricket tournament organized by some of the well-known companies of Jeddah as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in which Elaf Group also participated. Such sports activities are part of our commitment towards our employees to promote a healthy and active lifestyle and create a perfect balance between work and leisure. Since cricket is a team game, it encourages team building between the employees as well as encourages healthy competition among them.”

فريق"أم سي سي إيلاف" يحرز اللقب بفوز ساحق
جدة 14 نوفمبر 2013 - ختُتمت مؤخراً فعاليات بطولة "الدورة الآسيوية للكريكيت 2013" التي أقيمت في مدينة جدّة في المملكة العربية السعودية، وسط مشاركة حافلة من أبرز الشركات العاملة في جدة. وقدّم فريق "أم سي سي إيلاف" برئاسة الكابتن نيزار محمد طيب، المدير المالي لـ"مجموعة شركات إيلاف"، أداءً متميزً طوال فترة البطولة التي إمتدت من 10 إلى 18 أكتوبر 2013، محققاً إنتصارات ساحقة تُوّجت بإحراز اللقب رغم شدة المنافسة.
وشارك اللاعبين محمد عويس صابر ومحمد ريزان من "مجموعة إيلاف" في البطولة، بالاضافة إلى لاعبين من شركات أخرى حيث شكلا قوة ضاربة أسهمت بشكل كبير في إنتصار الفريق ومحافظته على الصدارة. وجاء تشكيل الفرق المشاركة في البطولة على هيئة مجموعات متساوية شملت موظفين من أبرز مجموعات الشركات العاملة في مجالات وقطاعات مختلفة كالسياحة والسفر والشحن و الإتصالات والسيارات.
وقال زياد بن محفوظ، رئيس مجموعة إيلاف: "شكلت بطولة "الدورة الآسيوية للكريكيت" بيئةً وديةً بإمتياز وهي تندرج في إطار المسؤولية الإجتماعية لبعض أهم الشركات القائمة في جدة، بما في ذلك "مجموعة إيلاف". ولا شك أن تنظيم مثل هذه الأنشطة الرياضية يعكس إلتزامنا بالارتقاء باللياقة البدنية والذهنية للموظفين وتعزيز أسلوب حياتهم من خلال مساعدتهم في تحقيق التوازن بين العمل والرفاهية. وترتكز لعبة الكريكيت على اللعب الجماعي بما يشجّع على ترسيخ روح التعاون والعمل الجماعي بين الموظفين ضمن بيئة تنافسية صحية وفعالة."
