MECSC and ICSC encourages RECon MENA attendees to make the most of this year’s conference by engaging in the dialogue and discussions with the best and brightest in the retail industry.
Healthy retail trade requires strong financial stability and economic growth. “The industry has enjoyed a solid financial picture in general in the region and the growth of retail sales over the past year reflects this solid footing,” explained David Macadam, chief executive officer, Middle East Council of Shopping Centres. At this year’s RECon MENA Conference we will feature both shopping centre management professionals and retailers that are expanding throughout the Middle East and are leading the industry forward.”
RECon MENA will kick-off on Sunday, 24 November with three full-day workshops: Advanced Lease Negotiation Techniques; Creating a Multi-Year Strategic Plan and the Corresponding Annual Business Plan; and Tenant Mix and Merchandizing Strategy. These intense workshops are being taught by recognized industry experts, and are intended for regional industry professionals.
The full RECon MENA program will feature two-days of international and regional experts who will share experiences, analyze current trends and help attendees gain insights to assist them in reformulating regional business plans to ensure stability and growth. Conference session highlights will include prominent local and international retailers discussing their expansion plans on our Retail Runway as well as regional reviews of new mall development taking place across the entire MENA region.
In addition to the educational and networking opportunities, the conference includes the 2013 Retail Industry Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre Awards. The Middle East is home to some of the largest shopping centres globally with some of the highest sales densities achieved in addition to being one of the most advanced enclosed retail environments in the world. ICSC and MECSC will recognize the best in shopping centre design, development, marketing, community service, and successful shopping centre operations at a gala dinner celebration, the evening of Monday, 25 November.
