– McLaren Automotive is proud to announce that Chief Test Driver, Chris
Goodwin, will be unveiling the groundbreaking McLaren P1™ at this
year’s Dubai International Motor Show.
Goodwin
has clocked up more than 4,000 hours behind the wheel as part of the
development programme for the McLaren P1™, which had a clear goal to be
the best driver’s car on both road and track.
The
rigorous development programme has seen the car tested to the extremes
across the globe – from the frozen lakes in the Arctic Circle to the
searing heat of North America’s west coast, as well as on the toughest
roads and racetracks.
The
Dubai International Motor Show 2013 takes place at the Dubai World
Trade Centre with Goodwin, 46, at the event to meet McLaren P1™
customers, talk about his involvement in making this next generation
supercar a reality and why he believes it will give drivers the closest
ever experience to that of getting behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car.
McLaren Automotive Chief Test Driver, Chris Goodwin commented: “Once you have driven the McLaren P1™ you will see why this ultimate supercar cannot be compared to anything you have ever driven – the McLaren P1™

Goodwin continued “The
McLaren P1™ is the result of extensive research, development and
testing by the team in Woking and around the world. During my time with
McLaren, I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to drive
many of the cars the team has built, and the McLaren P1™ is the only
road car I have ever driven that comes close to what these focused track
racers are capable of..
“There are two key factors which make the McLaren P1™
so great. Firstly, the IPAS powertrain provides not only power that
will blow you away, but it is available instantly. On top of that the
RaceActive Chassis Control suspension system is a breakthrough in
technology so that the 903 bhp can be complimented with superb
handling.”
McLaren
Automotive recently confirmed the performance figures for the McLaren
P1™, showing that the third model in the range accelerates to 100 km/h
(62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 6.8 seconds, and 300 km/h
(186 mph) in just 16.5 seconds.
The
McLaren P1™ is the first of the next generation of ultimate supercars
in the industry to arrive in the Middle East market, with first
deliveries to customers in the region taking place by the end of 2013.
At
the Dubai International Motor Show 2013, McLaren will also showcase the
award winning McLaren 12C and 12C Spider models; this will be the first
time the full McLaren range is shown together in the region.

بعدما أكدت شركة ماكلارين أوتوموتيف أن الظهور العلني الأول لسيارة
ماكلارين بي1 الخارقة في الشرق الأوسط سيكون ضمن فعاليات معرض دبي الدولي
للسيارات 2013، تعلن ماكلارين أوتوموتيف وبكل فخر أن كريس غودوين، سائق
الاختبارات الرئيس في ماكلارين سيكشف الغطاء عن الجيل القادم من سيارات
الأداء العالي الرياضية. وكان كريس قد سجل أكثر من 4 آلاف ساعة قيادة ضمن برنامج تطوير ماكلارين بي1، والتي تسعى لبلوغ هدف واضح وهو أن تكون أفضل سيارة في العالم للسائق على الطرقات والحلبات.
وكان
برنامج التطوير الذي خضعت له سيارة ماكلارين بي1 قد تضمن العديد من
الاختبارات التي جرت في أقسى الظروف، بدءاً من البحيرات المتجمدة في
الدائرة القطبية، وانتهاءً بالصحراء ذات الحرارة الشديدة على الساحل الغربي
في أمريكا الشمالية بالإضافة إلى أصعب الطرق وحلبات السباق.
ستجري
فعاليات معرض دبي الدولي للسيارات 2013 في مركز دبي التجاري العالمي حيث
سيكون غودوين حاضراً لإخبار زبائن ماكلارين بي1حول مساهمته في تصنيعها، وعن
السبب الذي يجعلها تمنح السائق أكثر تجربة مشابهة للجلوس خلف مقود سيارة
الفورمولا1.
وفي تعليق له قال كريس غودوين، سائق الاختبارات الرئيس لدى ماكلارين أوتوموتيف:"في
اللحظة التي ستقود فيها سيارة ماكلارين بي1 ستعرف على الفور ما الذي يجعل
هذه السيارة الرياضية الخارقة تتميز أي سيارة أخرى. تعتبر ماكلارين بي1 دون
أدنى شك السيارة الأكثر إثارة وقدرة، كما أنها تتميز عن أي سيارة رياضية
أخرى بما تتمتع به من تقنيات متطورة وديناميكية عالية".
وتابع كريس قوله: "تعد ماكلارين بي1 حصيلة أبحاث وأعمال تطوير واختبارات مكثفة نفذها فريق العمل في ووكينغ
وفي مختلف أنحاء العالم. وقد سنحت لي الفرصة خلال الفترة التي أمضيتها مع
ماكلارين أن أقود العديد من السيارات التي صنعها الفريق، وكانت ماكلارين
بي1 السيارة الوحيدة المخصصة للطرقات التي منحتني تجربة مشابهة لتلك التي
توفرها للسيارات المخصصة للحلبات وما تتمتع به من قدرات هائلة".

وسبق
لماكلارين أوتوموتيف أن أعلنت عن أرقام خاصة بأداء ماكلارين بي1حيث يمكن
لها أن تصل إلى سرعة 100 كم/سا خلال 2.8 ثانية، وإلى 200 كم/سا خلال 6.8
ثانية، وإلى 300 كم/سا خلال 16.5 ثانية.
وتعد
ماكلارين بي1 أول سيارات الجيل القادم الرياضية الخارقة التي تصل إلى سوق
الشرق الأوسط، وسيبدأ تسليم أولى السيارات للزبائن في المنطقة مع نهاية عام
2013.
كما
سيشهد معرض دبي الدولي للسيارات 2013 عرض سيارة ماكلارين 12سي الحائزة على
الجوائز، وسيارة 12سي سبايدر، لتكون المرة الأولى التي تعرض فيها جميع
سيارات ماكلارين معاً في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
وفي
تعليق له قال السيد إيان غورساتش، المدير الإقليمي لشركة ماكلارين
