Cairo, Egypt - September 26, 2013: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, and Batelco, the leading integrated communications services provider in the Kingdom of Bahrain, have announced the signing of a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) which will see the two companies deepen their strategic alliance in developing future projects within Bahrain and across the globe.
The agreement was signed by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of Batelco, and Mr. Shi Yaohong, President of Huawei Middle East, during the Bahrain-China Business Forum held recently in Beijing, China. Attending the signing ceremony was HE Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce - Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Yang Weiguo, Council Member of China-Arab Friendship Association, and Ms. Angela Yang, GM of Batelco Group Key Account, Huawei.
The new alliance reinforces the interest of both companies to collaborate on and to pursue future opportunities that advance Batelco’s global telecommunication assets including network performance improvement and business consultancy.
Following the signing, Shaikh Hamad said, “We are pleased to continue working with Huawei, given their world class experience. Huawei has been a key partner in providing Batelco with innovative telecommunications solutions over the past few years and we appreciate their invaluable contribution towards our successful delivery of key services for our customers,” he added.
“Around the world Huawei is committed to supporting our partners in connecting communities and enriching people’s lives through better communication solutions,” said Mr. Shi Yaohong, President of Huawei Middle East. “Batelco has long delivered on such projects by providing its customers with cutting-edge fixed and wireless services. Over the years Huawei has supported Batelco with innovative telecommunications solutions, and through this latest global alliance, we look forward to bringing additional value to the organization and to Batelco’s customers worldwide.”
Over the past decade, Huawei and Batelco have collaborated on many of the milestones projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the countries where the telco operates in, including the first next generation network deployment, high speed internet broadband and the release of several Huawei consumer devices over the past year including the recent launch of the Huawei Ascend P1 smartphone.
Today Bahrain is one of Huawei’s most important strategic markets within the Middle East region, home to Huawei’s regional headquarters as well as the company’s first ever Middle East IT Competence Center—opened in early 2013—supporting the advancement of the Kingdom’s IT and telecommunications industry while acting as an excellence hub for innovation at the global level.
"بتلكو" و"هواوي" توقعان اتفاقية تحالف استراتيجي لتطوير الشبكة
القاهرة، مصر - 26 سبتمبر 2013: أعلنت كل من شركة "هواوي" الرائدة عالمياً في توفير حلول تقنية المعلومات والاتصالات، وشركة "بتلكو" الرائدة في توفير خدمات الاتصالات المتكاملة في مملكة البحرين، عن توقيع مذكرة تفاهم جديدة ستقوم الشركتان بموجبها بتعميق تحالفهما الاستراتيجي من خلال عدد من المشاريع المستقبلية التي تهدف لتطوير الشبكة ومستقبل كافة الخدمات المقدمة من خلالها داخل البحرين وفي جميع أنحاء العالم.
وقع الاتفاقية كلٌّ من الشيخ حمد بن عبد الله آل خليفة رئيس مجلس إدارة "بتلكو"، والسيد "شي ياوهونج" رئيس "هواوي" في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، وذلك خلال فعاليات منتدى الأعمال البحريني الصيني الذي عُقد مؤخراً في العاصمة الصينية بكين. كما حضر مراسم التوقيع كلّ من سعادة الدكتور حسن فخرو وزير الصناعة والتجارية في مملكة البحرين، والسيد يانغ ويغو عضو الهيئة الإدارية لجمعية الصداقة الصينية العربية، والسيدة أنجيلا يانج مديرة حساب مجموعة "بتلكو" لدى "هواوي".
ويعزز التحالف الجديد آفاق علاقة التعاون الاستراتيجي بين الشركتين على صعيد السعي وراء الفرص المستقبلية التي تسهم في تطوير أصول الاتصالات لشركة "بتلكو" على المستوى العالمي، بما في ذلك تحسين أداء الشبكة وتقديم الاستشارات اللازمة في مجال الأعمال التجارية.
وبعد التوقيع، قال الشيخ حمد: "نحن سعداء لمواصلة العمل مع هواوي التي تتمتع بخبرة عالمية المستوى، وتعتبر أحد الشركاء الرئيسيين المساهمين في تزويد بتلكو بحلول اتصالات حديثة على مدى السنوات القليلة الماضية. ونحن نقدر عالياً مساهمتهم القيمة في توفير حلول ومنتجات ابتكارية متطورة ترتقي بالخدمات الني نقدمها لزبائننا".
وصرح السيد شي ياوهونج رئيس هواوي الشرق الأوسط بالقول: "نلتزم في هواوي بدعم شركائنا في جميع أنحاء العالم لضمان إيجاد فرص التواصل المستمر بين المجتمعات وإثراء حياة الناس عبر تقديم حلول الاتصالات المتميزة".
وأضاف: "لقد دأبت "بتلكو" منذ فترة طويلة القيام بمشاريع حيوية لتطوير الشبكة لتزويد عملائها بأحدث خدمات الاتصالات الثابتة واللاسلكية. وعلى مر السنوات السابقة، حرصت ‘هواوي’ على تقديم كافة أوجه الدعم المطلوب لـ"بتلكو" وتزويدها بأحدث حلول الاتصالات المبتكرة. ونتطلع من خلال اتفاقية التحالف الجديدة إلى تعزيز القيمة المضافة المقدمة من ‘هواوي’ لـ "بتلكو" وعملائها في جميع أنحاء العالم".
يذكر أن التعاون بين "هواوي" و"بتلكو" يمتد على مدى العقد المنصرم من خلال إقامة العديد من المشاريع البارزة في مملكة البحرين وفي الدول الأخرى التي تعمل فيها "بتلكو"، بما في ذلك نشر أول شبكة للجيل التالي، وبرودباند إنترنت فائقة السرعة، وإطلاق العديد من أجهزة "هواوي" الاستهلاكية خلال العام الماضي، بما في ذلك إطلاقها مؤخراً للهاتف الذكي "أسيند بي1" (Ascend P1).
وتمثل البحرين اليوم إحدى أهم الأسواق الاستراتيجية بالنسبة لشركة "هواوي" في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، حيث تضم إلى جانب المقر الإقليمي للشركة، أولى مراكزها المتخصصة في تطوير الكفاءات ضمن مجال تقنية المعلومات على مستوى الشرق الأوسط والذي تم افتتاحه في أوائل عام 2013 لدعم النهوض بصناعة تقنية المعلومات والاتصالات في المملكة، وليكون مركزاً للتميز في مجال الابتكار على المستوى العالمي.
