Company’s CSR initiative aimed at encouraging children with special needs to learn more and develop creativity

In line with its continuing move to reach out to the local community, Jotun Paints successfully hosted another special children’s day for the kids of the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs at KidZania® in The Dubai Mall. During the event, the Jotun team interacted closely with 20 kids from Al Noor for a fun day filled with activities, games and treats. The event, which was aimed at encouraging children with special needs to learn more and develop their creativity, is a follow up to the company’s first successful special children’s day.
Upon their arrival at KidZania®, the award-winning children’s ‘edutainment’ destination in The Dubai Mall, the children were asked to participate in the initial activity of painting the 'Jotun Establishment' area in the small make-shift imaginary city. The kids later took part in games and activities that helped spark their creative skills like jewellery and perfume making. The children also enjoyed playing role-play activities—assuming roles of firemen, hospital staff and local policemen around KidZania®. Towards the end of the day, the wards were given specially prepared goody bags to remember the occasion. The accompanying parents, teachers and the children were later treated to a meal at KidZania®. Officials and teachers from Al Noor Training Centre once again conveyed their thanks to the Jotun team for their efforts in spending time with the kids and encouraging them to develop themselves as future key members of the community.

إنطلاقاً من حرصها على تعزيز آفاق التواصل مع أفراد المجتمع المحلي وخدمته، نظمت "جوتن للدهانات" يوماً من المرح والترفيه والمتعة في "كيدزانيا" بدبي مول لمجموعة من أطفال "مركز النور لتدريب وتأهيل الأطفال ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة". وأمضى فريق "جوتن" أوقاتاً ممتعة مع 20 طفلاً خلال يوم حافل بالأنشطة والألعاب والمنافسات الشيقة. وأهدت "جوتن" هذه الفعالية إلى أطفال "مركز النور" تماشياً مع أهدافها الرامية إلى تنمية موهبتي التعلم والإبداع لدى الأطفال ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة. كما تأتي هذه الفعالية في أعقاب النجاح الكبير الذي حققته الفعالية السابقة التي نظمتها "جوتن" لمجموعة أخرى من أطفال المركز مؤخراً.
وشارك الأطفال فور وصولهم إلى "كيدزانيا"، مركز الترفيه التعليمي للأطفال الحائز على جوائز عدة في هذا المجال، " في تجربة القيام بعمل الدهان ضمن المدينة الخيالية الجميلة، ثم شاركوا لاحقاً في مجموعة من المسابقات والألعاب الشيّقة التي ساهمت في إبراز مهاراتهم وإبداعاتهم، مثل صنع المجموهرات وتركيب العطور. كما لعب الأطفال أدواراً عديدة مثل دور رجل الإطفاء وموظف المستشفى ورجل الشرطة. وبنهاية اليوم، تم تسليم الأطفال حقائب جذابة مليئة بالهدايا الخاصة بهذه المناسبة والفعالية الفريدة. كما أقيمت مأدبة غذاء على شرف أهالي الأطفال والمعلمين والأطفال في "كيدزانيا". وأعرب مسؤولو "مركز النور لتدريب وتأهيل الأطفال ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة" والمعلمين عن شكرهم العميق لفريق "جوتن" على ما قدموه من جهود لتشجيع ودعم أطفال المركز كي يصبحوا أفراداً فاعلين في المجتمع.
وقال بيرين آرورا، المدير العام لشركة "جوتن" في الإمارات: "لقد كان هذا اليوم حافلاً بالمتعة والإثارة ليس لأطفال "مركز النور لتدريب وتأهيل الأطفال ذوي الإحتياجات الخاصة" فحسب، وإنما لفريق "جوتن" الذي قضى أوقاتا ممتعة بصحبة أطفال المركز. إنّ ضحكات وإبتسامات هؤلاء الأطفال تعني لنا الكثير، لا سيّما وأننا بطريقة أو بأخرى ساهمنا في تفجير طاقاتهم الإبداعية وتنمية مواهبهم كي يصبحوا أفراداً فاعلين في المجتمع. ونتطلع قدماً إلى الفعالية المقبلة من يوم الأطفال المفتوح الذي بات يمثل جزءاً أساسياً من مبادرات المسؤولية الإجتماعية التي تنتهجها "جوتن" بغية تعزيز روابطها مع أبناء المجتمع المحلي."
