Dubai Municipality ahead of schedule on e-services transformation

Oracle on Oracle solution supports transformation of 90 percent of services to e-services

  • Dubai Municipality provides 306 public services to the citizens and businesses of Dubai. These services include building services, food control, environment services, laboratory services, waste and sewage control and water and electricity provision.

  • The Municipality declared its aim to convert 90 percent of these services to e-services to ensure smoother and more efficient transactions and eliminate wasted time in front desk interaction. The Dubai Municipality understood that to achieve this target it would require a reliable and scalable infrastructure.

  • The Municipality runs its systems on an  Oracle on Oracle environment, and has expanded its use of Oracle systems by implementing the latest Oracle solutions such as Oracle Fusion Middleware. This has helped enhance the connectivity of enterprise system applications, while maximizing IT efficiency through full utilization of the hardware and software architectures.

  • The Municipality has scaled their use of the Oracle solutions beyond e-services using them to run back office systems which supports internal operations.

  • The Dubai Municipality selected Oracle solutions for their scalability and flexibility, which are customized based on requirements. The variety of the products that Oracle offers was also an important factor as well as Oracle’s commitment to provide consistently high levels of professional services.

  • The Municipality currently has more than 133,000 registered users on their portal, with an average of 130,000 transactions per month, which translates to AED 23 million in income on a monthly basis. Customers are also becoming more confident using the e-services.
