Fadel: We support the youth to allow them to stay in Lebanon and start their own businesses
Beirut, April 16, 2013 - In celebration of BADER Young Entrepreneurs Program’s 8 years of success, MP Robert Fadel and Hala Fadel, chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Pan-Arab region, honored eight entrepreneurs that were supported by the two NGOs during a ceremony at the gardens of "Villa Sursock" in Ashrafieh.
The honoring list included Ramzi Jalbout, for his project Krocks, Rana Chmaytelli for Little Engineer, Raja Moawad for his project Ovis, Hind Hobeika for Instabeat, Youssef Fares for Olivetrade, Souad Merhbi for GamaBox, Elie Chaaba for Edulab, Maya Nohra, winner of Bader scholarship and Soraya Umewaka for her documentary Boukra menchouf (Tomorrow we’ll see).
Bader President MP Robert Fadel stressed during his speech on the need of for a national vision to promote economic growth through SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and start-ups: "We encourage youths to become entrepreneurs in Lebanon and turn their dreams and ideas into actual projects. The development of entrepreneurship and the support system for startups and SMEs is a main engine of growth. This is what Bader has been focusing on for 8 years.”
Fadel showcased Bader’s achievements for the past eight years, starting by providing support to entrepreneurs through education, training and counseling or through workshops attended only in 2012 by 350. Bader also created the first SME Clinics in Lebanon, Bader Entrepreneurs’ Clinic, which provides free expert advice for entrepreneurs on various topics along as well as granted scholarships worth over 200 thousand dollars to young people who wish to specialize in the field of entreneurship.
From her side, Hala Fadel chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Pan-Arab region said “The MIT Forum has been organizing for the past eight years business plan competitions across the Arab region. We have four thousand applications every year from 17 Arab countries, 30% of which are Lebanese. We are proud that Lebanese won the first prize of 50 thousand dollars three times out of six competitions organized until today, proving once again the entrepreneurial and creative mind of the Lebanese people.”
In 2010, Bader became the partner institute of the World Economic Forum (Davos) thus allowing Lebanon to be ranked for the first time in the WEF Global Competitiveness Ranking.

فاضل: نشجع الشباب على البقاء في لبنان لتأسيس شركاتهم وإطلاق مشاريعهم
بيروت، في 16 نيسان 2013: بمناسبة مرور ثماني سنوات على إطلاق جمعية "بادر" (برنامج الشباب المبادر)، أقام النائب روبير فاضل ورئيسة منتدى أعمال معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا للمنطقة العربية (MIT) السيدة هلا فاضل حفلاً مساء أمس الإثنين في حديقة "فيلا سرسق" في الأشرفية. وبهذه المناسبة، جرى تكريم ثمانية من رواد الأعمال الذين ساهم كل من المجموعة والمنتدى في إنجاح مشاريعهم.
وضمت لائحة المكرمين الثمانية كلاً من رمزي جلبوط الذي فاز عن مشروعه (Krocks)، ورنا شميطلّي الفائزة عن مشروع "المهندس الصغير" (Little Engineer)، ورجا معوّض عن مشروع (Ovis)، وهند حبيقة عند مشروع (Instabeat)، ويوسف فارس عن مشروع (Olivetrade)، وسعاد المرعبي عن مشروع (GamaBox)، وإيلي شعبا عن مشروع (Edulab)، ومايا نهرا الفائزة بإحدى منح "بادر" الجامعية، وثريا أومواكا عن الفيلم الوثائقي "بكرا منشوف".
وشدد رئيس مجموعة "بادر" النائب روبير فاضل في كلمته على أهمية توفر رؤية وطنية شاملة لتحفيز النمو الإقتصادي تشمل تشجيع الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة ورواد الأعمال وتوفير التسهيلات لهم لحضّهم على المبادرة والإنطلاق، خصوصاً في القطاعات الواعدة التي تنطوي على فرص كبيرة للنمو. وقال: "نشجع الشباب على البقاء في لبنان لتأسيس شركاتهم وإطلاق مشاريعهم فيه. من هنا ضرورة إيجاد وسائل دعم لتبصر المشاريع التي يقدمها الشباب النور محدثة التنمية المطلوبة في مجتمع يحول إبداعاته إلى دورة إنتاجية لننهض بالوطن".
وعرض فاضل لإنجازات "بادر" في السنوات الثماني المنصرمة، سواء في مجال التمويل والتدريب والإرشاد والتوجيه، أو عبر تنظيم ورش عمل تتناول المبادىء والأساليب المتبّعة لوضع خطط الأعمال، ضمت أكثر من 350 من رواد الأعمال في العام 2012. هذا فضلاً عن "عيادة" بادر للشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة" التي توفر لأصحاب المبادرات الفردية فرصة للاستفادة مجاناً من نصائح الخبراء في عدة مجالات، وتقديم المنح الجامعية للشباب الراغبين بالتخصص في مجال ريادة الأعمال بأكثر من مئتي ألف دولار.
من جهتها، قالت ورئيسة منتدى أعمال معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا للمنطقة العربية (MIT): "يواظب المنتدى منذ ثماني سنوات على تنظيم مسابقة أفضل خطة عمل في المنطقة العربية وشكرت دور جمعية "بادر" في إطلاق المنتدى الذي يستقبل نحو أربعة آلاف طلب سنوياً للمشاركة في المسابقة، يرد 30 بالمئة منها من لبنان". وأضافت "نحن نفتخر بأن لبنانيين فازوا بالجائزة الأولى البالغة 50 ألف دولار ثلاث مرات من أصل المسابقات الست التي نظمت حتى اليوم، وهذا دليل إضافي على القدرات الريادية والإبداعية التي تميز اللبناني. وهي قدرات نعمل جاهدين لإبرازها وتشجيعها وتوفير كل مقوّمات النجاح لها".
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن جمعية "بادر" وقّعت في العام 2010 اتفاق شراكة مع الشبكة الدولية للتنافسية التابعة للمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي، مما أتاح فرصة إدراج لبنان للمرة الأولى ضمن تقرير التنافسية العالمية الذي تصدره الشبكة.
Bader rend hommage à 8 jeunes entrepreneurs à l’occasion de son 8ème anniversaire
Fadel : nous encourageons les jeunes à rester au Liban afin de créer leurs entreprises et lancer leurs projets
Beyrouth le 16 avril 2013 - Afin de commémorer le 8ème anniversaire de l’association Bader (programme de soutien aux jeunes entrepreneurs), le député Robert Fadel et la responsable du Forum des affaires de l’Institut de technologie du Massachusetts (MIT) pour la région arabe, Hala Fadel ont organisé une cérémonie dans les jardins de la villa Sursock à Achrafieh. A cette occasion, l’association et le forum ont rendu hommage à 8 entrepreneurs ayant bénéficié de leur soutien.
Les huit entrepreneurs sont Ramzi Jalbout, récompensé pour son projet Krocks, Rana Chmaytelli pour son projet Little Engineer Raja Moawad pour son projet Ovis, Hind Hobeika pour Instabeat, Youssef Fares pour Olivetrade, Souad Merhbi pour GamaBox, Elie Chaaba pour EduLab, Maya Nohra, lauréate d’une bourse universitaire Bader, et Soraya Umewaka pour son documentaire Boukra menchouf.
Le député Robert Fadel, Président du groupe Bader, a souligné dans son intervention l’importance d’une vision nationale afin de relancer la croissance économique. Cette vision devrait englober le soutien aux petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) et aux start-ups, la mise en place de programmes de soutien pour les inciter à se lancer dans les affaires, notamment dans les secteurs prometteurs. « Nous encourageons les jeunes à rester au Liban afin d’y lancer leurs entreprises. Il est important de trouver les moyens de les soutenir afin de transformer la créativité en productivité », a-t-il expliqué.
Fadel a exposé les réalisations de Bader durant les huit années passées, que ce soit dans le domaine de l’enseignement, de la formation et de l’orientation, ou dans l’organisation d’ateliers de travail sur les principes et méthodes suivies pour mettre en place les plans d’affaires, dont ont bénéficié plus de 500 jeunes entrepreneurs uniquement en 2012. A cela s’ajoute la « clinique » de Bader pour les PME qui permet de profiter gratuitement de conseils d’experts dans plusieurs domaines, ainsi que les bourses universitaires d'un montant supérieur à 200 000 dollars aux jeunes souhaitant se spécialiser dans le monde de la création d’entreprise.
De son côté, la Présidente du Forum des Affaires de l’Institut de Technologie du Massachusetts (MIT) pour la région arabe a affirmé : « le Forum organise depuis 8 ans le concours du meilleur business plan dans la région arabe ». Elle a remercié l’association Bader pour son soutien dans le lancement du Forum en 2005 et 2006 et a rappelle que la compétition, accueille près de 4 000, participants dont 30% provenant du Liban. Elle a ajouté : « Nous sommes fiers du fait que sur les six concours organisés, des Libanais ont remporté trois fois la première place, avec pour récompense des prix de 50 000 dollars. C’est une preuve supplémentaire du potentiel de nos jeunes. Un potentiel que nous essayons de mettre en avant, d’encourager et de doter de tous les facteurs de réussite ».
L’association Bader a signé en 2010 un accord de partenariat avec le Réseau de la compétitivité mondiale du Forum économique mondial (Davos), ce qui a permis d’intégrer le Liban pour la première fois dans le rapport de compétitivité publié par le Réseau.
