Abu Dhabi Local Depts. Social Security Fund event promotes competition & excellence among Abu Dhabi students

ALHOSN University was chosen alongside five other elite universities in Abu Dhabi to showcase the scientific and intellectual talents of its students during the Creative Emirati Exhibition and Forum held recently at the Officers Club in Abu Dhabi. The Forum served as a platform for introducing the best works of students engaged in technical fields such as computer science and engineering to encourage investments from specialist individuals and major organizations.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Local Depts Social Security Fund, a renowned non-profit philanthropic institution, the Forum featured presentations on 25 student projects balanced with a series of academic lectures, student tours, cultural performances, seminars, and an Awards Ceremony. The works on display covered diverse areas ranging from telemedicine and game-based learning to Near Field Communications (NFC) and smart homes. The event was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The ALHOSN group presented plans for a mosque and Islamic center in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island, with the mosque to be made of eco-friendly building materials and partly illuminated by natural lighting. It also demonstrated the use of state-of-the-art computer modeling in assessing the design of reinforced concrete bridges in the UAE. A special Photography Exhibit on UAE Culture was prepared by the Education Department as well.
“The Forum was an excellent platform to encourage friendly competition among top students, expose ideas to potential industry adopters, exchange technologies and information, and promote student participation in the establishment of a genuine knowledge-based society. All of these complement ALHOSN University’s philosophy of ‘global knowledge with local vision.’ We are very proud of the exceptional abilities of our students as reflected by the strong interest in the projects they put on display,” said Prof. Raymond Tennant, Provost and Acting VC, ALHOSN University.
Abu Dhabi–based ALHOSN University was opened in 2005 to students of all nationalities in response to growing local demand for high-quality, value-based education. The University currently offers 12 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculties of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences.

صندوق تكافل دوائر إمارة أبوظبي المحلية ينظم الحدث سعياً لتعزيز المنافسة والتميز بين طلبة أبوظبي

أختيرت جامعة الحصن إلى جانب خمسة من أبرز الجامعات في أبوظبي لعرض المواهب العلمية والفكرية لطلبتها خلال معرض وملتقى المبدع الإماراتي والذي عقد مؤخراً في نادي الضباط في أبوظبي. وشكل هذا الملتقى فرصة مثالية لتقديم أفضل أعمال الطلبة في المجالات التقنية مثل هندسة وعلوم الكمبيوتر لتشجيع الاستثمارات من الأفراد المتخصصين والمؤسسات الكبرى.
واشتمل الملتقى، الذي نظمه صندوق تكافل دوائر إمارة أبوظبي المحلية، وهو مؤسسة خيرية غير ربحية، على عروض تقديمية حول مشاريع لـ 25 طالباً وطالبة أقيمت بالتوازي مع محاضرات أكاديمية وجولات طلابية وعروض ثقافية وندوات، بالإضافة إلى حفل لتسليم الجوائز. وتناولت الأعمال المعروضة مجالات متنوعة تراوحت بين العلاج الطبي عن بعد والتعليم القائم على الألعاب وصولاً إلى تقنية التواصل قريب المدى (NFC) والمنازل الذكية. وعقد هذا الحدث تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان، وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي بدولة الإمارات.
وعرض فريق جامعة الحصن نموذجاً لمسجد ومركز إسلامي في جزيرة السعديات في أبوظبي، حيث من المقرر أن يتم تشييد المسجد من مواد بناء صديقة للبيئة وتتنوع طرق إنارته لتتضمن الإنارة الطبيعية. كما استعرض فريق الجامعة استخدام النمذجة الحاسوبية المتطورة في تقييم تصاميم الجسور الخرسانية المسلحة في دولة الإمارات. كما شارك فريق الجامعة بعدد من الصور التراثية التي يمكن توظيفها في التعليم كمدخل حديث يرتكز على جذب الطلبة وتأكيد القيم الوطنية والتراثية. حيث مثل قسم التربية هذا الجانب في فريق المشاركة.
وقد أشاد الأستاذ الدكتور ريموند تينانت، القائم بأعمال مدير جامعة الحصن بالملتقى حيث أكد على أنه يشكل فرصة مثالية لتشجيع المنافسة الودية بين الطلبة المتفوقين، وعرض أفكار على جهات قد تتبنى مثل هذه المشاريع، لتعزز مشاركة الطلبة في التأسيس لمجتمع قائم على المعرفة. ونحن فخورون بالقدرات الكبيرة لطلبتنا، وهو ما عكسه اهتمام الجامعة وحرصها على المشاركة في مثل هذه المعارض.
وافتتحت جامعة الحصن، ومقرها أبوظبي، أبوابها للطلاب من جميع الجنسيات خلال العام 2005 وذلك استجابة لتزايد الطلب المحلي على مؤسسات التعليم عالية الجودة. وتقدم الجامعة حالياً 12 برنامجاً خاصاً بدرجة البكالوريوس و7 برامج خاصة بالدراسات العليا ضمن كلية الهندسة والعلوم التطبيقية وكلية الأعمال وكلية الآداب والعلوم الاجتماعية.
