Leading global logistics provider to invest USD 10 million in the UAE over the next two years

The GEFCO Group, a leading solid profitable international logistic group, has revealed the opening of its first ever offices in Dubai, marking the start of its presence in the Middle East region. The announcement was made during a press conference held today (February 27, 2013) at the Palace Downtown Dubai. Present during the event were top GEFCO officials headed by Luc Nadal, Chairman of the Board and Christian Zbylut, Vice President and CEO of International Development. Located inside the Jebel Ali Freezone Area (JAFZA), the company’s new offices will be offering effective logistics solutions like inbound overland logistics, outbound automotive logistics and overseas services to key industry verticals like automotive, aerospace, FMCG and electronics.
According to GEFCO senior executives, Russian Railways (RZD), national rail carrier of the Russian Federation and one of the newest shareholders of the GEFCO Group, made a big investment move in January this year, buying 75 per cent of the company. The acquisition has allowed GEFCO to enter aggressively into the market and ultimately drive in more growth for the company. In line with this, the company has revealed its plans to invest more than USD 10 million into the UAE over the next two years. The opening of the company’s pioneering offices in Dubai is part of GEFCO’s continuing move towards international development and support for its customers across high-growth areas like Central Asia, the Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, East Asia, India and South America. The new office will be the company’s headquarters for the Middle East, where all ‘back-office’ transactions will be located. In addition, GEFCO is expected to expand its operations to cars compound and warehousing activities over the next three years—making full use of 200,000 square meters.

We remain highly confident in this key move to establish our presence and have even started to mull the possibilities of opening offices in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar.”
GEFCO’s new Dubai office is expected to help complete the supply chain of the overseas flows arriving at the Dubai Ports. The opening will also ensure the supply chain of finished vehicles entering the emirate with final destinations to Iraq and across other countries within the GCC region. The company is expected to hire over 15 new personnel to man the Dubai offices and oversee Middle East operations.

كشفت "مجموعة جيفكو" (GEFCO Group)، وهي مجموعة دولية رائدة متخصصة في الخدمات اللوجستية، عن إفتتاح أولى مكاتبها في الشرق الأوسط. وذلك خلال مؤتمر صحفي نظمته المجموعة اليوم (27 فبراير/ شباط 2013) في منتجع وفندق "ذا بالاس داون تاون" بدبي، بحضور كبار مسؤولي الشركة، على رأسهم لوك نادال رئيس مجلس إدارة المجموعة، وكريستيان زبيلوت نائب الرئيس والرئيس التنفيذي لقسم التنمية الدولية.
وتتميز المكاتب الجديدة التي إفتتحتها "مجموعة جيفكو" بموقع إستراتيجي في قلب منطقة جبل علي الحرة، وسيتم من خلالها تقديم حزمة من الحلول اللوجستية الفعّالة مثل الخدمات اللوجستية البرية الواردة، وخدمات شحن المركبات، والخدمات اللوجستية الخارجية، والتي تخدم شريحة واسعة من القطاعات هي السيارات،والطيران، و السلع الإستهلاكية السريعة الحركة، والإلكترونيات.
وأفاد كبار المسؤولين في "مجموعة جيفكو" خلال المؤتمر الصحفي بأنّ قيام شركة "السكك الحديدية الروسية"، الناقل الوطني للإتحاد الروسي وأحدث المساهمين في "مجموعة جيفكو"، بالإستحواذ على 75% من أسهم "مجموعة جيفكو"، أدى إلى إنتعاش المجموعة ودخولها الأسواق العالمية بقوة من أجل تعزيز خططها للتوسع في الأسواق العالمية. وتماشياً مع ذلك، كشفت المجموعة عن عزمها على إستثمار 10 مليون دولار أمريكي في الإمارات خلال العامين المقبلين. ويجسد إفتتاح "مجموعة جيفكو" أولى مكاتبها في الدولة سعيها المتواصل إلى تقديم الدعم إلى عملائها في جميع المناطق السريعة النمو، مثل آسيا الوسطى والشرق الأوسط ووسط وشرق أوروبا وشرق آسيا والهند وأمريكا الجنوبية. وسيكون المكتب الجديد الذي إفتتحته الشركة في دبي بمثابة المقر الإقليمي للمجموعة في الشرق الأوسط، حيث سيتم تنفيذ جميع معاملات وعمليات المكتب الخلفي ذات الصلة ضمنه. علاوة على ذلك، كشفت المجموعة عن خططها لتوسعة عملياتها لتشمل مجمعات للسيارات ومستودعات خلال السنوات الثلاثة المقبلة، مستفيدة من المساحة الإجمالية الكبيرة التي تمتد عليها المكاتب والتي تصل إلى 200,000 متر مربع.
وقال ستيفانو بولوتي، مدير "مجموعة جيفكو" في الإمارات: "يمثل إفتتاح أول مكتب لنا في منطقة الشرق الأوسط بداية جديدة في تاريخ الشركة، ويجسد سعينا المتواصل إلى تلبية الإحتياجات الواسعة للعملاء في المنطقة على حلول لوجستية فعّالة وموثوق بها للغاية. ونعتقد أنّ قرار إختيار دبي لإحتضان مركزنا الإقليمي في الشرق الأوسط سيكون قراراً إستراتيجياً وحكيماً لما تتمتع به من موقع هام في قلب المنطقة وقربها من مراكز عمليات قطاعات الصناعة المختلفة. ونحن على ثقة تامة من أنّ هذه الخطوة ستمثل حجر الأساس لتعزيز إنطلاقتنا وحضورنا على مستوى المنطقة، وقد بدأنا بالفعل بحث إمكانية التوسع في المنطقة وإفتتاح مكاتب جديدة في السعودية وعُمان وقطر."
يشار إلى أنّ إفتتاح "مجموعة جيفكو" لأولى مكاتبها في الشرق الأوسط، في إمارة دبي تحديداً، سيلعب دورا محورياً في إكمال حلقات سلسلة توريد التدفقات الخارجية الواصلة إلى موانىء دبي، فضلاً عن إكمال سلسلة توريد السيارات المجمعة التي تدخل الإمارة وغيرها من دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي في طريقها إلى العراق. ومن المقرر أن توظف الشركة ما يزيد عن 15 موظفاً جديداً لإدارة مكاتبها في دبي والإشراف على عملياتها في الشرق الأوسط.
