EMEA expansion of returns programme helps customers improve the sustainability of their printing solutions
UAE, April 29, 2013 — HP today announced expanded recycling solutions that will help EMEA customers reduce the environmental impact of their printing and benefit from the quality of Original HP printing supplies.
As an industry leader in the movement towards more sustainable printing, HP is continuously working with manufacturers, retailers and non-governmental organisation (NGO) partners to create solutions with reduced environmental impact — from the design and manufacture of products through to their use and end-of-life recycling.

Expanded recycling options for customers
The company’s industry-leading recycling programme called HP Planet Partners lets customers recycle used Original HP cartridges as part of a “closed loop” plastics recycling process. To date, customers worldwide have recycled more than half a billion HP ink and LaserJet toner cartridges with HP Planet Partners.(1)
HP Planet Partners is free and available to customers across 34 countries in EMEA. It is simple to use, beginning either with a visit to www.hp.com/recycle or an HP Authorised Retail Collection location.
Through this and other efforts, HP aims to recycle 3.5 billion pounds (1,600,000 metric tons) of electronic products and supplies by the end of 2015.
Measuring recycling results by the billions
HP’s groundbreaking “closed loop” plastics recycling process uses plastic from recycled cartridges and other post-consumer sources to create new Original HP cartridges. To date, HP has recycled 1.71 billion pounds (776,000 metric tons) of electronics and Original HP print cartridges around the world. HP has also kept 280 million cartridges(1) and more than 2 billion post-consumer plastic bottles out of landfill.
When compared to new (or virgin) plastic, the recycled plastic used in HP ink cartridges since 2010 has up to an estimated 33 percent smaller carbon footprint — even when the impacts associated with collecting, transporting and processing are taken into account. Using recycled plastics is also estimated to reduce total water used in cartridge production by up to 89 per cent.(2)

دبي، 29 أبريل 2013: أعلنت اليوم شركة اتش بي عن حلول جديدة وموسعة لإعادة التدوير، ستساعد العملاء في أوروبا والشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا على تقليل الأثر البيئي لأعمال الطباعة والاستفادة من جودة لوازم الطباعة الأصلية من اتش بي.
ونظراً لكونها رائدة القطاع في التوجه نحو الطباعة المستدامة، تواصل اتش بي العمل مع المصنعين والتجار والشركاء من المنظمات غير الحكومية لابتكار الحلول التي تقلل الأثر البيئي للمنتجات، بدءاً من تصميم وتصنيع المنتجات وحتى استخدامها وإعادة تدويرها.

خيارات معززة لإعادة التدوير
يحمل البرنامج الريادي لإعادة التدوير اسم "اتش بي شركاء الكوكب"، ويتيح للعملاء إعادة تدوير عبوات الحبر الأصلية من اتش بي ضمن عملية متكاملة لتدوير المواد البلاستيكية. ويشار إلى أن العملاء حول العالم قاموا حتى الآن بتدوير ما يزيد على نصف مليار عبوة من حبر الطباعة وحبر LaserJet من خلال البرنامج المميز.
يتسم برنامج "اتش بي شركاء الكوكب" بكونه مجانياً ومتاحاً للعملاء في 34 دولة في أوروبا والشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. كما أنه سهل الاستخدام ويبدأ إما بزيارة إلى الرابط www.hp.com/recycle أو من خلال زيارة موقع تسليم معتمد من قبل اتش بي.
وبفضل تلك الجهود وغيرها، تتطلع اتش بي إلى إعادة تدوير 3.5 مليار رطل (1,600,000 طن متري) من المنتجات واللوازم الإلكترونية بنهاية العام 2015.
قياس نتائج إعادة التدوير بالمليارات
تستخدم عملية الحلقة المغلقة لإعادة تدوير المواد البلاستيكية، وهي العملية المتكاملة التي تعتمدها اتش بي، المكونات البلاستيكية من عبوات الحبر معادة التدوير وغيرها من المصادر المستهلكة لصنع عبوات الحبر الأصلية الجديدة. قامت اتش بي حتى الآن بإعادة تدوير 1.71 مليار رطل (776,000 طن متري) من عبوات الأحبار الأصلية حول العالم، كما ساهمت في إبعاد 280 مليون عبوة حبر و أكثر من 2 مليار عبوة بلاستيكية مستهلكة عن مكبات النفايات.
وعند مقارنتها بالبلاستيك الجديد غير المستخدم، فإن البلاستيك معاد التدوير والذي يستخدم في عبوات الحبر من اتش بي منذ عام 2010، يصدر انبعاثات كربونية أقل بحوالي 33 بالمائة، حتى عند أخذ مخرجات عملية التدوير وجمع المواد ونقلها ومعالجتها بعين الاعتبار. كما يمكن للبلاستيك معاد التدوير تقليل إجمالي كميات المياه المستخدمة في إنتاج عبوات الحبر بنسبة تصل إلى 89 بالمائة.
