 Abu Dhabi Art Programme to Showcase Artists Commissions in Cultural Sites

Abu Dhabi, 6 November 2025: Abu Dhabi Art has revealed participating artists for its 2025 Artist Commissions in Cultural Sites programme.

The Abu Dhabi-based trio Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian, alongside Nike Davies-Okundaye, and Issam Kourbaj, have been invited to showcase their commissioned works at Al Ain City, opening to the public from 19^th November 2025 and remaining in exhibition until 26^th April 2026.

 

Supported by the Global Partner of Abu Dhabi Art, HSBC reaffirms its support of the fair’s mission to connect contemporary artistic practices with the UAE’s rich heritage. Through its partnership, HSBC supports programmes such as the Cultural Sites Commissions, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to fostering cultural dialogue and expanding access to art in diverse communities.

 

Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh and Hesam Rahmanian will present their new work Luminous Shadow at Hili Archaeological Park. The Arch explores the sinuous, dynamic qualities of Arabic and Pahlavi scripts as visual embodiments of sound. These scripts, framed as hieroglyphic serpentine notations of symbolic resonance, emphasise entangled forms and expressive modulation of consonants. The trio commented “At Hili Archaeological Park, the largest Bronze Age site in the Emirates, the Arch rises from the silent depths of the sand. We are honoured to be participating in this edition of Abu Dhabi Art’s public art commissions, a moment that allows us to bring this work into dialogue with such an ancient and significant site.”

Al Ain Oasis will be home to Nike Davies-Okundaye’s large-scale tapestry installation, combining embroidery, appliqué, and adire, dyed cotton textile. Stemming from initial reference to symbolic backdrops used in Yoruba travelling theatre in the 1950s in Nigeria this site-specific commission is inspired by the palm tree and its place in the ecosystem of the Oasis. Her installation features a tapestry of connected palm trees and represents the shared values between the UAE and Nigeria. “I’m so happy to be invited to create an installation at Al Ain Oasis. Being there last year was such a beautiful experience, and I’m excited to return this year and share more of our African culture and stories. Art connects people, and I’m grateful for this chance to keep building that connection through creativity and tradition. This opportunity shows us how deeply connected we all are through creativity, culture and tradition.” commented Nike Davies-Okundaye.

Issam Kourbaj has conceived of intimate interventions across the cityscape of Al Ain located at several key cultural sites. The artist has placed camera obscuras at these sites, enabling visitors to interact with the works and experience the cultural sites in new ways. Participating sites include, Al Qattara Oasis. Kourbaj commented “It’s an honour to be part of Abu Dhabi Art’s Al Ain commission, to witness a land where light remembers and ancient towers stand as witnesses. Through the lens of the camera obscura, I explore the word Al Ain, in Arabic, as both eye and spring, revealing the delicate interplay between perception, place, and time. I look forward to walking alongside the Al Ain community and offering a reading of this remarkable place, like a spring, ever alive.”

أبوظبي، 6 نوفمبر 2025: أعلن معرض "فن أبوظبي" عن قائمة الفنانين المشاركين في برنامج "تكليف الفنانين في المواقع الثقافية" لعام 2025.

وقد وُجّهت الدعوة إلى الثلاثي المقيم في أبوظبي رامين حائري زاده، وركني حائري زاده، وحسام رحمانيان، إلى جانب نيكي ديفيز-أوكونداي، وعصام كرباج، لعرض أعمالهم الفنية المكلّفة من المعرض في مدينة العين، حيث ستُفتتح أمام الجمهور في 19 نوفمبر 2025 وستستمر حتى 26 أبريل 2026.

وبصفته الشريك العالمي لفن أبوظبي، يُواصل بنك HSBC دعم مهمة المعرض في ربط الممارسات الفنية المعاصرة بالمواقع التراثية الغنية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. ومن خلال هذه الشراكة، يُساهم البنك في تمكين برامج مثل التكليفات الفنية في المواقع الثقافية، ما يعكس التزامه بدعم الحوار الثقافي وتوسيع نطاق الوصول إلى الفنون في مختلف المجتمعات.

سيقدّم الثلاثي رامين حائري زاده، وركني حائري زاده، وحسام رحمانيان عملهم الفني الجديد بعنوان "الظل المضيء" في موقع هيلي الأثري، يستكشف هذا العمل الطابع المتموّج والديناميكي للحروف العربية وأيضاً الحروف الفهلوية (أو البهلوية) بوصفها تجسيدات بصرية للصوت. وقد صيغت النصوص على هيئة رموز هيروغليفية (تصويرية) متعرّجة تجسّد الارتباط الرمزي، وتُبرز الأشكال المتداخلة والتعديل التعبيري للحروف الساكنة. وقال الفنانون الثلاثة في تعليقهم على العمل: "في موقع هيلي الأثري، أكبر موقع من العصر البرونزي في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، ينبثق "القوس" من أعماق الرمال الصامتة. ونحن فخورون بالمشاركة في هذه النسخة من برنامج تكليف الفنانين في المواقع الثقافية لعام 2025، التي تتيح لنا فرصة محاورة موقع أثري بهذه العراقة والأهمية."

ستحتضن واحة العين تركيباً فنياً واسع النطاق من إبداع الفنانة العالمية نيكي ديفيز-أوكونداي، يجمع بين تقنيات التطريز، والترقيع ("أبليكيه")، وفن "أديريه" (صباغة القماش المربوط). ويستند هذا التكليف الفني، الذي أُنجز خصّيصاً للموقع، إلى خلفيات رمزية مستوحاة من المسارح المتنقّلة في ثقافة "اليوروبا" في خمسينيات القرن الماضي في نيجيريا. وتستمد الفنانة إلهامها من شجرة النخيل ومكانتها في النظام البيئي للواحة، حيث تتّسم التركيبة الفنية بنسيجٍ مترابط من أشجار النخيل، في تعبيرٍ عن القيم المشتركة بين الإمارات العربية المتحدة ونيجيريا. وقالت أوكانداي: "يسعدني أن أُدعى لابتكار عمل فني في واحة العين. كانت تجربتي هناك العام الماضي مميّزة للغاية، وأنا متحمّسة للعودة هذا العام ومشاركة المزيد من ثقافتنا الأفريقية وقصصنا. فالفنّ يوحِّد الناس، وأشعر بالامتنان لهذه الفرصة التي تتيح لنا مواصلة بناء هذا الترابط من خلال الإبداع والتقاليد. وما هذه التجربة إلّا دليلٌ على مدى عمق اتصالنا جميعاً عبر الإبداع والثقافة والتراث."

أمّا الفنان عصام كرباج، فقد ابتكر مجموعةً من الأعمال الفنية المتفرّقة في أرجاء مدينة العين، موزّعة على عددٍ من المواقع الثقافية البارزة. ووضع الفنان آلات "الكاميرا الغامضة" في هذه المواقع، بما يُتيح للزوّار التفاعل مع الأعمال الفنية واختبار المواقع الثقافية بطريقةٍ جديدة. وتشمل المواقع المشاركة واحة القطارة. وقال كرباج: "يشرّفني أن أكون جزءاً من مشروع العين الذي كلّفني به فن أبوظبي، في أرضٍ يُستحضر فيها النور وتبقى الأبراج العتيقة شاهداً حياً. ومن خلال عدسة الغرفة المظلمة، أستكشف كلمة ’العين‘ في اللغة العربية بمعنييها كعينٍ ونبعٍ في آنٍ واحد، كاشفاً عن التفاعل الدقيق بين الإدراك والمكان والزمان. أتطلّع للعمل جنباً إلى جنب مع مجتمع العين، وتقديم قراءة خاصة لهذا المكان الفريد، بوصفه نبعاً دائم التجدُّد."

يُقام معرض فن أبوظبي، الذي تنظّمه دائرة الثقافة والسياحة - أبوظبي، خلال الفترة من 19 إلى 23 نوفمبر 2025 في منارة السعديات. ويُعد المعرض إحدى أبرز المحطات الثقافية في الإمارة، حيث يشكّل جزءاً أساسياً من برنامجه السنوي المتكامل، الذي يشمل التكليفات الفنية والمعارض، ويولي اهتماماً كبيراً ببرامج التوعية والتعليم الفني.

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة،  06 نوفمبر 2025: يعود مهرجان "أنمينيا أبوظبي" في نسخته الثانية إلى منارة السعديات من 11-15 فبراير 2026، ببرنامج حافل بتجارب غامرة، وعروض ترفيهية "لا تُنسى" تحتفي بثقافة وفنون "الأنمي" والألعاب الإلكترونية. 

 

ويشهد المهرجان، الذي تنظمه دائرة الثقافة والسياحة - أبوظبي، خمسة أيام من الفعاليات المُلهمة، والعروض الموسيقية الحية، والمأكولات المتنوعة، والمقتنيات الحصرية المستوحاة من "الأنمي"، إلى جانب مسابقة أزياء تنكرية "كوسبلاي"، تُعد الأغلى في نوعها في مهرجانات "الأنمي" حول العالم، ويصل إجمالي جوائزها إلى 400,000 درهم.  

 

ويأخذ المهرجان جمهور هذا الفن ومحبي الألعاب الإلكترونية إلى أجواء "طوكيو الجديدة" في قلب أبوظبي، حيث يعيشون تجارب غامرة في عوالم القصص المصورة ومسلسلات وأفلام الرسوم المتحركة النابضة بعبق الذكريات، بينما يتجولون بين المتاجر المتنوعة، ويلتقون شخصياتهم المفضلة. 

  

ويُرسخ "أنمينيا أبوظبي" معايير جديدة للتميز والابتكار في مهرجانات "الأنمي"، ويمنح زواره فرصة استكشاف مشاهد عالم "الأنمي" بالحجم الكامل، إلى جانب اختبار مهاراتهم في منطقة ألعاب تفاعلية بتفاصيل دقيقة تمنحهم تجربة استثنائية. 

  

وتكتسب أجواء المهرجان زخماً إضافياً بسلسلة من العروض الموسيقية الحية ، وعروض أغاني "الأنمي" الشهيرة، مع الظهور المرتقب لأصوات مألوفة من شخصيات "الأنمي" المحبوبة. وتكتمل التجربة بباقة متنوعة من عروض التسوق وفنون الطهي الفريدة التي تتيح للزوار فرصة اقتناء تشكيلات حصرية من المنتجات، وتذوق أشهى مأكولات الشارع في عربات وأركان الطعام.

Abu Dhabi, UAE (6 November 2025): The wait is almost over: anime fans can rejoice, as Animenia Abu Dhabi is set to make its highly anticipated return to the UAE capital from 11 to 15 February 2026. Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the event’s second edition promises to be even bigger and better, bringing Manarat Al Saadiyat alive with anime, fan activations, music, food and boundless energy. Adding to the excitement, Animenia invites fans to showcase their talent and costumes at its showstopping cosplay competition, with a staggering AED 400,000 prize pool up for grabs. 

 

The festival will celebrate the dynamic world of anime, transporting fans and gamers into the vibrant world of Neo-Tokyo without ever leaving Abu Dhabi. From small-screen favourites to nostalgic classics, attendees will journey through quirky shops, glowing signs, and meet some of the beloved characters that make the anime world so unforgettable.​ 

 

Bringing the experience to life, guests can expect full-scale anime scene recreations as well as an interactive gaming zone. The second edition of Animenia will turn up the volume with even more live entertainment, including J-Pop shows, Anisong performances, and appearances from familiar voices. What’s more, fans can enjoy some retail therapy with exclusive drops and collectibles, before refuelling with some mouthwatering street food. 

 

Once again, Animenia is calling all fans and cosplayers to take the spotlight on 15 February for the ultimate cosplay showdown. Building on last year’s thrilling competition and with an AED 400,000 prize pool to take home, global cosplayers are encouraged to bring their A-game.
