Turkish Airlines once again opens the widest airline network to Saudi nationals

Saudi citizens and residents are now able to travel to or transit through Türkiye again with the airline flying to more countries than any other

Turkish Airlines are pleased to announce that as of June 20, 2022 the restrictions set by Türkiye due to COVID-19 has been lifted. The flights to Saudi Arabia have resumed to pre-pandemic conditions and Saudi citizens are able to travel to or transit through Türkiye again.

Turkish Airlines flies from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Medina by connecting travellers from KSA to 335 cities in 128 countries, including 51 cities in Türkiye. Passengers are able to fly to Türkiye without a PCR test or vaccination card and masks are not mandatory in the aircrafts.

With the resumption of Touristanbul, Turkish Airlines passengers with connecting flights in İstanbul Airport with 6-24 hours of between their flights will have the option to discover İstanbul and its cultural and historical wonders.

يسُـرُّ الخطوط الجوية التركية أن تعلن أنه اعتبارًا من 20 يونيو 2022، سيتم رفع القيود التي فرضتها تركيـا على إثر تفشِّي جائحة "كوفيد 19"؛  حيث يتم استئناف الرحلات الجوية إلى المملكة العربية السعودية وفقاً لنفس الظروف والأوضاع السائدة ما قبل الجائحة، ليصبح المواطنين السعوديين قادرين على السفر أو المرور عبر تركيا من جديد.

تُسيّـر الخطوط الجوية التركية رحلات جوية من الرياض وجدة والدمام والمدينة المنورة، لربط المسافرين من داخل المملكة العربية السعودية مـع 335 مدينة في 128 دولة حول العالم، بما في ذلك 51 مدينة داخل تركيا، حيث يمكن للمسافرين السفر إلى تركيـا دون إجراء اختبار (PCR) أو تقديم بطاقة التطعيم أو إلزامهم بارتداء الأقنعة الواقية داخل الطائرات.

Enhanced Audi A8 L and S8 make Oman debut at spectacular National Museum in Muscat

Dubai, UAE: Following the recent launch of the flagship Audi A8 and S8 in the UAE, Audi Oman, represented by Premium Motors, unveiled the luxury models at the iconic National Museum, Oman’s leading cultural institution, which showcases the Sultanate’s rich heritage.

The updated A8 L is powered by hybrid technology 48 V (MHEV) 3.0-litre V6 that develops 340 hp 500 Nm of torque, coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. This setup accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 5.7 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. 

The 2022 Audi S8 gets a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that develops 571hp and 800 Nm of peak torque, which catapults the high-performance version from standstill to 100 km/h in a mere 3.8 seconds.  

The A8 L and S8 perfectly meet the needs of a changing customer base. In both models, the premium concept is defined first and foremost by an emotional and comfortable interior experience, combined with established, as well as new, technologies. The S8 sees this exemplified from a pure performance standpoint, inspired by Audi’s racing heritage, combining progressive luxury with dynamic athleticism.

The new wheel range offers an option of three new geometries and three new rim colours.

The new high-end headlights and taillights inspire with innovative functions and form the apex of the A8 L and S8’s established technology portfolio, creating a contemporary and user-oriented experience –for passengers and drivers alike.

The tech behind the digital matrix LED headlights and OLED rear lights is especially arresting on the new-look Audi A8 L. When unlocking and exiting the car, the digital Matrix LED headlights can cast projections onto floors or walls. This is known as the dynamic coming home / leaving home animations.  At the rear, the Audi A8 L features a continuous, segmented light strip paired with digital organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) fitted as standard.

40 YEARS OF TURBO BENTLEYS CELEBRATED AT GOODWOOD

 

40th Anniversary of first turbocharged Bentley honoured at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Heritage Collection Bentleys joined by cars from across current range

(Middle East, 4 July 2022) Bentley celebrated four decades of handcrafting turbocharged grand tourers with a ten-car parade at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. In the forty years since the first turbocharged Bentley, the immense reserves of power and effortless torque that characterise Bentley engines have become inseparably associated with turbocharging.

Bentley Motors displayed seven turbocharged Bentley models from its Heritage Collection at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, alongside key models from the current range.

Today the advantages of turbocharging have seen its universal adoption from city cars to supercars. But it was a bold step in 1982 for Bentley to adopt the technology and one that paid off handsomely. In the words of automotive historian Eric Dymock, it was a decision that ‘recaptured Bentley’s soul’. That soul can be experienced today in Bentleys W12, 4.0 V8 and V6 models; the tidal wave of torque that is integral to Bentley’s appeal owes much to the turbocharger.

Grand Touring – The Continental R

With a top speed of over 150 mph the Continental R, launched at Geneva in 1991, was a true high-performance grand tourer, and the first Bentley with its own unique body since the R Type Continental of 1952. Its turbocharged 6.75-litre V8 developed 355bhp; 0-62mph took just 6.6 seconds.

Re-Introducing Crewe’s V8 – Arnage Red Label

When the Arnage was first launched in 1998, it was powered by a 4.4-litre BMW V8. Impassioned pleas from Bentley owners around the world and the personal intervention of VW Group Chairman Ferdinand Piëch persuaded management to reconsider, and shortly after the company became part of the VW Group, Bentley announced a new ‘Red Label’ Arnage with the beloved Jack Phillips-derived 6.75-litre V8 back under the bonnet. In this form it It also developed 405 PS (400 bhp) and 835 Nm, restoring the effortless ‘wave of torque’ character to the Arnage. The 0-62 mph benchmark took just 6.3 seconds with a governed top speed of 155 mph.

Timeless Style – Brooklands

The enduring appeal of the Bentley 6.75-litre V8, and continuing demand for hand-built craftsmanship at the highest level, inspired Bentley to offer a limited-edition coupé based upon the Arnage platform. Further revisions to the twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V8 raised the power output to 535 PS (530 bhp) with 1,050 Nm of torque. Top speed was 183 mph (296 km/h) and the 0-62 mph sprint took 5.3 seconds.

The Mulsanne

By the time of the new Mulsanne in 2010, every component of the engine had evolved and the 6¾-litre V8 only shared its key internal dimensions and layout with its forebears. Variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation ensured that it was up to 99% cleaner and far more fuel-efficient than a 1950s Bentley V8.

2003: The W12 Era Begins

The Continental GT, launched in 2003, was the first all-new Bentley since the original 3.0-litre of 1919, with no components carried over from a previous generation. The new Bentley featured a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged 48-valve W12 engine; in essence two narrow V6 engines on a common crankshaft. This design had multiple advantages; it was compact, it was immensely smooth, and it gave the new Bentley a power output of 560 PS (552 bhp) and 650 Nm of torque.

A More Efficient Bentley V8

The first new Bentley V8 engine in over 50 years made its debut in 2012 as the Continental GT V8. Its 4.0-litre V8 featured cylinder deactivation technology, ‘hot side inside’ turbo mounting, power recuperation, and engine management. With a new eight-speed automatic transmission, the new V8 delivered a forty percent improvement in fuel efficiency compared with the 6.0-litre W12, while producing 500 bhp and 660 Nm of torque

Adding Further Emotion - Continental GT S

At this year’s Festival of Speed, Bentley’s new S range of models made their global debut – the Continental GT S, the Continental GTC S and the Flying Spur S. All are powered by the latest 4.0-litre V8.

الشرق الأوسط، 4 يوليو 2022 – احتفلت Bentley بمرور أربعة عقود على ابتداع سيارات فاخرة عالية الأداء بشواحن توربينية، وذلك عبر استعراض شمل عشر سيارات خلال ’مهرجان غودوود للسرعة‘. فعلى مدى أربعين سنة ومنذ الظهور الأول لسيارة Bentley بشاحن توربيني، أصبحت الكميات الهائلة من الطاقة والعزم السلس المتولِّد دون أي مجهود والتي تميّزت بها محرّكات Bentley مرادفاً ملازماً باستمرار لخاصّية الشحن التوربيني.


وعرضت Bentley Motors سبعة طرازات بشواحن توربينية من ضمن مجموعتها التراثية Heritage Collection خلال مشارَكتها في ’مهرجان غودوود للسرعة‘، إلى جانب طرازات بارزة أخرى من مجموعتها الحالية.


واليوم، ونظراً لمزاياه المثبَتة والواضحة، أصبح الشحن التوربيني معتمَداً على نطاق واسع دولياً في قطاع السيارات، بدءً من السيارات الخاصّة للمدن وصولاً إلى السيارات الفائقة. لكن في العام 1982، اتخذت Bentley خطوة جريئة لتبنّي التقنية التي أظهرت منافعها بشكل واضح وجلي. ووفقاً لكلمات المؤرِّخ المتخصِّص بعالم السيارات، إريك دايموك، كان هذا قراراً ’استعاد روحية Bentley‘. ويمكن عيش تلك الروح اليوم في طرازات Bentley المزوَّدة بمحرّكات W12، V8 سعة 4.0 ليتر وV6. وبالتالي، فإن الموجة العارمة من العزم التي تزخر بها Bentley تعود بجزء أساسي منها إلى الشاحن التوربيني.

عندما تم إطلاق Arnage للمرّة الأولى سنة 1998، كانت مزوَّدة بمحرّك V8 سعة 4.4 ليتر من ’بي إم دبليو‘. وفي ظل الطلبات الملحّة من مالكي Bentley حول العالم والتدخُّل الشخصي من رئيس ’مجموعة فولكسواغن‘، فرديناند بيش، تم إقناع الإدارة على التفكير مجدَّداً، وبعد فترة قصيرة على انضمام الشركة إلى ’مجموعة فولكسواغن‘، أعلنت Bentley عن سيارة Arnage ’Red Label‘ مع عودة لمحرّك V8 سعة 6.75 ليتر من جاك فيليبس والمرغوب جداً، والذي أنتَج قوّة بلغت 400 حصاناً (405 PS) و835 نيوتن-متر من العزم، مما أعاد إلى Arnage الشخصية المتمحورة حول ’موجة العزم‘ السلسة والمتولِّدة دون مجهود. وتمكّنت السيارة من التسارع من صفر إلى 62 ميل/س خلال 6.3 ثوانٍ مع وصولها لسرعة قصوى يمكن التحكُّم بها عند 155 ميل/س.


أناقة لا تتأثّر بالزمن – بروكلاندس

ساهمت الجاذبية الدائمة غير المتأثِّرة بمرور الزمن لسيارة Bentley بمحرّك V8 سعة 6.75 ليتر، والطلب المستمر على الحِرَفية الصناعية اليدوية العالية بأفضل حللها، بإلهام Bentley كي توفر طراز كوبيه بإصدار محدود مرتكز على منصّة Arnage. ولقد أدّت التعديلات الإضافية على محرّك V8 سعة 6.75 ليتر بالشاحن التوربيني التوأمي لرفع الطاقة المولَّدة إلى 530 حصاناً (535 PS) وإنتاج عزم قدره 1,050 نيوتن-متر. ووصلت السرعة القصوى إلى 183 ميل/س (296 كلم/س) مع قدرة التسارع من صفر إلى 62 ميل/س في غضون 5.3 ثوانٍ.


سيارة Mulsanne

مع حلول وقت Mulsanne الجديدة في 2010، كان كل مكوّن في المحرّك قد خضع للتطوير، وقد تَشارَك محرّك V8 سعة 6 ¾ ليتر فقط قياساته الداخلية وتصميمه مع سابقاته. وضمنت مزايا التوقيت المتبدِّل للصمّامات ووقف تشغيل الأسطوانات أن يكون المحرّك أنظف بنسبة 99٪ وأكثر كفاءة باستهلاك الوقود من محرّك V8 لسيارات Bentley خلال خمسينيات القرن الماضي.


2003: بدء عصر W12

كانت Continental GT، التي تم طرحها في 2003، أول Bentley جديدة كلّياً منذ طراز 3 Litre الأساسي لسنة 1919، دون حمل أي مكوّنات من الأجيال السابقة. وضمّت سيارة Bentley الجديدة محرّك W12 سعة 6.0 ليتر بشاحن توربيني توأمي و48 صمّاماً، وهو ما يمثِّل في الجوهر محرّكَي V6 ضيّقين على عمود كامات مشترَك. ولقد تمتّع هذا التصميم بالعديد من المزايا، إذ كان مدمَجاً وناعماً للغاية، ومَنَح سيارة Bentley الجديدة قوّة قدرها 552 حصاناً (560 PS) و650 نيوتن-متر من العزم.


محرّك V8 أكثر كفاءة من Bentley

ظهر سنة 2012 أول محرّك V8 جديد من Bentley خلال فترة زادت عن 50 سنة، وذلك على متن Continental GT V8. وضمّ محرّكها نوع V8 سعة 4.0 ليتر تقنية إيقاف عمل الأسطوانات، ومبدأ التركيب وفق مفهوم ’الجهة الساخنة بالداخل‘، وميّزة استرجاع الطاقة، وخاصّية إدارة المحرّك. ومع ناقل حركة أوتوماتيكي جديد من ثمان سرعات، تميّز محرّك V8 الجديد بكفاءة محسَّنة باستهلاك الوقود بنسبة 40٪ بالمقارَنة مع محرّك W12 سعة 6.0 ليتر، بينما ولَّد قوّة بلغت 500 حصاناً وعزماً قدره 660 نيوتن-متر.


إضافة المزيد من المشاعر الجيّاشة – Continental GT S

في ’مهرجان غودوود للسرعة‘ لهذه السنة، ظهرت طرازات مجموعة S الجديدة للمرّة الأولى على الساحة الدولية – وهي Continental GT S، Continental GTC S وFlying Spur S. ولقد تميّزت كلّها بكونها مزوَّدة بمحرّك V8 الأحدث سعة 4.0 ليتر.

AUC’S APS TO HOST THE ROAD TO SHARM EL SHEIKH CIVIL SOCIETY COP27 MEETING

 

WHAT

In preparation for the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (COP27) that will take place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, the Alternative Policy Solutions research project at The American University in Cairo (AUC) will host "The Road to Sharm El Sheikh Civil Society COP 27 Meeting”. 

The event will bring together over 50 civil society associations working on the environment and climate change issues for a meeting with key government representatives involved in the preparation of COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh. The outcome of this meeting will yield the civil society framework research paper for COP27, a parallel to the government's climate change national strategy, that contains a concrete set of recommendations for policymakers on how to move forward with the focus issues prioritized by the government. 

The meeting will be attended by Mahmoud Mohiedin, UN High-Level Climate Change Champion for Egypt; Ambassador Mohamed Nasr, director of the Environment and Sustainable Development Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Arne Lietz, the lead initiator for the Report of the European Parliament on Climate Diplomacy; Frank Hartmann, the German ambassador to Cairo; and key focal points from the ministries of environment, water, agriculture, energy, transportation, and planning.
