These radically fast 100ipm departmental colour office A3 printers deliver the ecological benefits that only inkjet technology can offer, providing a low-power solution with fewer supplies at the price of a departmental laser copier. Its high speed meets the high-productivity needs of new markets segments, and is set to tap into an increasing market opportunity as IDC forecasts the overall business inkjet market to grow at a rate of 10.2% (CAGR) up to and including 2020.

Robert Clark, senior vice president, Epson Europe, says, “For the first time in Europe we are also presenting PaperLab, the world’s first office papermaking system capable of producing new paper from securely destroyed waste paper using a dry process, and can produce thousands of sheets of recycled paper a day. Alongside PaperLab - and our synchronised, dancing robots - we also have a wide range of our solutions for business, home and vertical markets. From augmented reality to portable scanning, our many years of experience in technology research and development mean Epson is perfectly placed to fill the needs of professional and home users, in areas as diverse as printers, projectors, smart glasses and robotics.”

Visitors can find out more about Epson’s heritage and future strategy through an immersive presentation displayed on a 230 degree curved screen in the Japan Pavillion at stand A38 in Hall 4. Hear about Epson’s ‘world firsts’, its commitment to the environment, and see the innovative products that are helping to shape the future, such as the dual-armed robots.

Also on the stand, visitors can explore the new WorkForce Pro WF-C869RDTWF, enabling businesses to save up to 95% on energy, 99% on waste, and cut their downtime by printing up to 84,000 pages - without changing supplies. In addition, Epson’s installation and corporate projectors on show at CeBit 2017 include the EB-L25000U, currently the brightest, smallest and lightest 3LCD installation laser projector available. And the BT-350 smart glasses, designed to offer an enriched experience to museum, concert or event attendees, by providing the history of exhibits, real-time event information or opera subtitles, or for bringing industrial facility tours to life with background details and interactive content. Finally, Epson’s EcoTank printers that remove the need for cartridges and cut printing costs by up to 74% are also on show.

GROHE announces revolutionary water security system for your home

  • App-controlled water sensor to prevent domestic water damage
  • Home-owners underestimate the risk of water damage

GROHE Sense and GROHE Sense Guard are GROHE’s latest intelligent solutions for the smart home. The GROHE Sense smart water sensor monitors humidity, detects leaks and alerts homeowners instantly in case of a problem, while GROHE Sense Guard is installed in the main water pipe and can switch off the water supply in case of a burst pipe. Both use ground-breaking smart technology, allowing them to be monitored and controlled using the brand-new GROHE ONDUS App.

Preventable water damage
GROHE Sense and GROHE Sense Guard have been created to address the issue of water damage in households as an underestimated risk as a survey conducted by GROHE earlier this year shows. Half of households in Europe have experienced water damage at least once – this is much more than participants suspected. As a report by the German Insurance Association has shown previously, 93% of the cases could have been prevented. As GROHE always wants to ensure that customers can enjoy their water experience, developing intelligent devices to monitor and prevent water damage incidents has been a natural next step in product innovation.

Innovative products for a smarter future
GROHE Sense is a smart water sensor. Easily placed on the floor it detects flooding and tracks room temperature and humidity. Multiple devices across different rooms in the house can be used to notify the home owner of any issues instantly so the home-owner has the time to react.

GROHE Sense Guard is a smart water controller, which detects frost risk, micro leakages and pipe breaks. Being installed in the central water pipe of the house by a professional installer, one can turn off the water supply with the device automatically in case of a burst pipe. Even leaving a tap open will not remain unnoticed anymore!

The innovative water security system is based on industry standard wireless LAN technology, controlled through the GROHE ONDUS App – the centerpiece of the GROHE Sense system. It offers the highest level of water safety, allowing to continuously monitor and control GROHE Sense and GROHE Sense Guard – whenever and wherever. The users receive alerts when there is a water issue at home and can shut off their water supply with the app and GROHE Sense Guard to prevent major damage. Additionally, the app has a feature that allows users to track their domestic water consumption.

Peace of mind
“Our aim is to be a source of enjoyment. Mains-related water damage is the most frequent damage in the house. When water damage occurs, you want things fixed right away, but it can take weeks if not months before everything is repaired. Therefore, prevention is the best remedy. That is why we developed the GROHE Sense water security system: enjoy the day – enjoy peace of mind, while GROHE Sense and Sense Guard take care of your home.”, says Michael Rauterkus, CEO GROHE AG.

EGYPTAIR CHOOSES SITA AIRFARE INSIGHT TO MANAGE FARE PRICING

New technology allows airlines to make rapid and timely changes to its airfares

CAIRO – 21 March 2017 – EGYPTAIR have selected SITA’s Airfare Insight to provide the airline better visibility of its fares across all markets as well as the ability to deliver the most competitive fares to its passengers. EGYPTAIR is among 19 airlines globally that currently use Airfare Insight, leading the market with the most comprehensive fare management technology available today.

In an increasingly competitive environment, Airfare Insight, part of the Horizon® portfolio, allows the airline to make rapid adjustments to fares and rules in response to market conditions. Using Airfare Insight, EGYPTAIR can monitor, accurately analyze the competitor landscape and quickly react to changes in the market with the right fare at the right time.

Until now airlines have typically compared fares with competing carriers using base or “filed” fares that ended up bearing little resemblance to the price paid by customers. Airfare Insight’s unique “All in Fare” functionality provides EGYPTAIR with a true view of the market pricing with a comprehensive fare that includes the base price, taxes, fees and charges for each market. EGYPTAIR also benefits from Airfare Insights’ dedicated workflow, resulting in synchronized distribution, fewer errors and market prioritization.

The ability to manage its pricing globally is key to an airline such as EGYPTAIR, which has a strong network of routes throughout the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia as well as New York and Toronto, serving 70 destinations in 48 countries.

EGYPTAIR Holding Company’s Chairman and CEO, Safwat Mosallam, said: “In today’s competitive marketplace, pricing can change dramatically in a matter of hours. For EGYPTAIR it is vital that we understand what is happening in the market so that we can respond with accurate and competitive fares. Airfare Insight allows us to do just that.”

Hani El-Assaad, SITA President, Middle East, India and Africa said: “Our focus at SITA is to ensure that we make air travel easy at every step. With Airfare Insight, we deliver technology that meets this promise by simplifying how airlines manage airfares, optimizing their processes to improve their speed to market and delivering the most competitive fares available.”
