JAGGAER highlights procurement technology advances at Arab Health

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 25, 2021: JAGGAER revealed its latest technology in its ground-breaking procurement systems during this year’s Arab Health, as it supports global healthcare recovery.


With new technology and innovation taking centre stage at this year's edition of Arab Health, JAGGAER has launched the company's Digital Mind strategy.  The core set of advanced strategies includes embedded intelligence, predictive analytics, and real-time user guidance to support healthcare procurement teams with strategic decision making, procurement efficiency, risk reduction and customer service.


In a report published by Deloitte, the size of the global market for the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is expected to top US$158 billion by 2022, with the IoMT market in the MENA region, reaching US$9 billion.

The new Digital Mind strategy incorporates JAGGAER Adopt, Assist and Advise. The latter enables users to be more proactive in recognising areas of improvement and mitigating challenging situations such as supplier risk. By leveraging a combination of advanced predictive analytics, machine learning, and customer-specific business rules, JAGGAER Advise enables procurement professionals to identify steps that could improve performance or results and take corrective action on behalf of users.


 Furthermore, the software provides data-driven actionable insights and recommends the next steps to mitigate the risk of supply disruptions, supplier qualification and performance issues, and underperforming sourcing events.


Speaking at one of the sessions during the event, Microsoft Research’s Chief Medical Scientist, Dr Junaid Bajwa outlined the role of data in the healthcare sector, he said:  "Today's story is one of automation of processes, aggregation of data, moving to intelligent analysis and AI, and then repeating that cycle. If we get this right, it has the potential to reduce costs and support clinicians by unmasking occult disease types, generalising new associations and perhaps even generating new novel hypotheses and new mechanisms."

وفي تقرير نشرته شركة ديلويت، أكبر شركة خدمات مهنية في العالم فإنه من المتوقع أن يصل حجم السوق العالمية لإنترنت الأشياء الطبية إلى 158 مليار دولار أمريكي بحلول عام 2022 بالتزامن مع وصول سوق إنترنت الأشياء في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا إلى 9 مليارات دولار أمريكي.

CNN highlights the European companies developing boundary breaking technologies

 

 

 

In the latest episode of Marketplace Europe, CNN’s Anna Stewart explores the theme of ‘new frontiers’, meeting the companies developing boundary breaking technologies across the continent.

 

At a time when many advances are being made in space exploration, including the recent space flights by Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos, Stewart speaks to Jean-Marc Nasr, Head of Space Systems at Airbus, Europe’s largest aerospace firm. He describes the ubiquitous nature of space technology in everyday life, “Every day of your life, you’re using space 10 to 15 times, from your smartphone, from your computer, without knowing it. There is no weather forecast without space, there is no navigation without space. There is no instant telecommunication when you’re on the move without space solutions.”

 

With the billionaire space race taking off in the US, European inventors are hoping that the continent does not get left behind. Nasr tells the programme about the importance of cooperation for European space exploration efforts, “For us, there is no other way for Europe, including the UK as a partner, to be in the front row of space exploration than being together.”

 

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Stewart visits ‘Future Lab’ to take an immersive look into the technology of the future.

 

‘Future Lab’ has been the launchpad for European businesses leading the way in innovation, and Stewart discovers that this year mobility is taking centre stage. EAV CEO Adam Barmby discusses his company’s e-cargo vehicle, a cross between a bike and a van, “It is specifically designed and built for one single purpose, which is the last mile area of the logistics industry. The cost of ownership is about a quarter of a normal mid-size van.”

 

Polish start-up Triggo is hoping to revolutionise road traffic with a vehicle that transforms from a car to a motorcycle. Founder and CEO Rafal Budweil tells Stewart that he hopes autonomous cars will become road legal. While Dutch export Pal-V is hoping to change travel entirely with its commercial flying car. Pal-V UK country manager Andy Wall says that the vehicle will prove useful for reaching remote areas.

 

Finally, Stewart takes flight, trialling the new jetpack technology from UK-based company Gravity Industries. With technology like this, the future of mobility may not require any vehicles at all.

Having completed his education from BPLP Nusa Dua, Bali-Indonesia – Hotel Academy Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia in 1991, Chef Kardino Zulhadi is proficiently trained in the elegant world of culinary. 

With over 27 years of work experience in the hospitality industry – from developing food concepts, managing staff to designing new menus, Chef Zulhadi brings with him extensive experience in gourmet cuisine. He joined Rosewood Jeddah in May 2021 and has worked in various hotels around the world with longstanding stints at Hyatt Regency Riyadh, Conrad Nusa Dua, Bali, Shangri La, Manila, Shangri La Golden Flower Hotel Xi An, China and Fairmont Dubai. 

At his new position at Rosewood Jeddah, Chef Kardino Zulhadi will be responsible for leading the (Habsburg-All Day Dining, Soleil-Café Lounge, Sky Lounge and In Room Dining sections of the hotel, enhancing menus, managing restaurant staff and organizing financial budgets. 

He has also successfully completed the Professional Development Modul Advanced Kitchen Management by The Emirate Academy of Hospitality Management in academic association with Ecole hotelier de Lausanne.
