Enterprises will continue to invest in hybrid cloud and look for greater interoperability between private and public clouds for all workloads, including legacy as well as cloud native. One of the biggest challenges IT leaders will face in 2020 is data mobility. In light of compliance policies and data sovereignty laws, such as CCPA and GDPR, it is critical for companies to account for legal compliance in how their data is mobilized among clouds.


Speaking of mobility, another key challenge impacting IT leaders in 2020 will be application mobility between clouds due to differences in licensing and consumption models between private and public clouds. AUC PARTNERS WITH AAIB FOR TEACHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

December 30, 2019, Cairo – The American University in Cairo (AUC) recently partnered with the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) for the training and continuing education of 150 public school teachers of primary and preparatory students. The four-month Teacher Development Program, which launched this month at the Tahrir Square campus through AUC’s School of Continuing Education, aims to train public school teachers in best practices, helping them gain new techniques that would enable them to enrich the student learning experience and well-being.

The program will foster instructor skills and competencies in a variety of areas, including teaching methodology, lesson planning, assessment, classroom management, as well as educational technology and gamification. It introduces the teachers to pedagogies and learning theories that promote the cognitive, social and emotional development of students.

“To surpass the dynamics of our landscape, our education needs to move from theoretical-based learning to one that informs and inspires teaching practices,” said Sherif Elwy, vice chairman and managing director of AAIB. “In this context and given AAIB’s commitment to the SDGs [Sustainable Development Goals], the initiation of the Teacher Development Program in collaboration with AUC seeks to empower the education workforce through developing their capabilities to achieve a substantial wide impact on our young generation.”

According to the program criteria, primary and preparatory school teachers participating in the program should be Egyptians residing in the Greater Cairo area. They should be teaching Arabic, science, mathematics or social studies in public schools, and they must be willing to apply new teaching methods based on what they’ve learned in the program.

This partnership is one pivotal milestone in the long series of partnerships between AUC and AAIB over the years. This includes the AUC Venture Lab, to which AAIB has consistently given full support to empower Egypt’s future entrepreneurs to expand their creativity and make their business ideas come to life.

Egytech Cables Signs New Contract to Upgrade Cairo Regional Control Centre Amounted EGP 583.7 Million.

ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC (SWDY.CA on the Egyptian stock exchange), the leading Wires & Cables and Integrated Energy Solution Provider in the Middle East and Africa, announced today that its subsidiary Egytech Cables has signed a new contract with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) in Consortium consist of (NARI Group Corporation, Egytech Cables, Huawei International Co. Ltd, and Huawei Technologies (Egypt) Co., Ltd) to upgrade Cairo Regional Control Center on turnkey basis.

Total Project Value is EGP 1.2 Billion, While Egytech portion is EGP 583.7 Million.

The EPC contract will be implemented over a 20-month period commencing from receiving the advance payment.

Sant’Agata Bolognese, 5 January 2020 – Automobili Lamborghini announces the Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): a visceral driving machine, delivering 610 hp (449 kW) of power at 8,000 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm to a lightweight car with rear-wheel drive and dynamic steering for maximum driving fun. Weighing just 1,389 kg, the Huracán EVO RWD has a top speed of 325 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. Despite its top-figure capabilities, the Huracán EVO RWD is not focused on straight-line speeds or lap records: with a unique new design, the Huracán EVO RWD proclaims its designation as an instinctive driver’s car.

Engineered for driving fun




The V10 engine delivers more than just power to the rear-wheel drive set-up: the sound of the naturally aspirated power plant combines with the specially tuned traction control system to deliver the most emotive, fun-to-drive experience in both dry and wet conditions, and even snow. The new Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS) is calibrated specifically for the rear-wheel drive Huracán EVO, delivering torque even during the phase where the car is realigning following drifting or side-slipping.




Whereas a ‘normal’ traction control system delivers a sharp decoupling, waiting for a car to become completely stable before delivering torque again, the P-TCS car delivers torque in advance, avoiding a harsh torque cut and assuring better traction when exiting a corner.




The P-TCS intervention is calibrated according to the Huracán EVO RWD’s driving modes, selected via the steering wheel’s ANIMA button (Adaptive Network Intelligent Management: ‘soul’ in Italian). In STRADA, the P-TCS minimizes rear wheel slippage to ensure stability and safety in all conditions: with a more proactive strategy P-TCS manages torque delivery on low-adhesion surfaces.




In SPORT mode, the P-TCS maximizes the fun-to-drive experience: the rear wheels can slide and skate during acceleration, for easy drifting fun without compromising safety. The system recognizes conditions where the angle of oversteer increases rapidly and limits torque delivery to the rear wheels, allowing the driver to perfectly control and stabilize the car.




In CORSA, the P-TCS is calibrated to achieve the rear-wheel slip that optimizes the car’s traction and agility when exiting a corner, allowing the driver to maximize performance. The P-TCS improves smoothness of intervention by 30% compared to the previous Huracán RWD model; improves corner-exit traction by 20% and enhances oversteer by 30%.




The Huracán EVO RWD’s hybrid chassis integrates lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber with an aluminum and thermoplastic resin body, with a total dry weight of 1,389 kg giving a weight-to-power ratio of 2.28 kg/hp. With front/rear weight distribution of 40/60, the Huracán EVO RWD sits on double wishbone suspension with overlapped quadrilaterals and passive shock absorbers. The electro-mechanical, servo-assisted Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) is tuned specifically for the Huracán EVO RWD, ensuring maximum feedback. The seven-speed dual clutch gearbox ensures the fastest gear changes, with launch control for maximum acceleration from a standing start. The 19” Kari rims with specially-developed Pirelli P Zero tires are fitted with ventilated and cross-drilled steel brakes. As an option 20” rims and carbo-ceramic brakes are available.




Fresh design for pure performance




The Huracán EVO RWD continues the V10 Lamborghini’s powerful design with new front and rear features, clearly differentiating it from its Huracán EVO 4WD stablemate.




The Huracán EVO RWD is characterized by a sculpted, purposeful persona, complemented by a new front splitter and vertical fins within the larger, framed front air intakes. The rear bumper in high gloss black incorporates a new diffuser unique to the Huracán EVO RWD.




Inside, the cockpit features a HMI 8.4” touchscreen in the center console of the car, controlling all aspects of the car’s functions as well as managing full connectivity such as telephone calls, internet access, and including Apple CarPlay.




Both inside and out, Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program provides unsurpassed options for color and trim personalization, allowing owners of the Huracán EVO RWD to impose their individual style and personality on their new Lamborghini driving machine. In order to emphasize the shape of the car the new color, Giallo Belenus (yellow), has been developed together with a dedicated leather and Alcantara color for the interior trim, matching the new exterior paint.



The Huracan EVO RWD is expected to arrive in the Middle East in the second quarter of 2020.

سانتا أغاتا بولينييزي، 5 يناير 2020 – أعلنت ’أوتوموبيلي لامبورغيني‘ (Automobili Lamborghini) عن إطلاق طرازها الجديد ’لامبورغيني Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD)‘ الذي يُعدّ سيارة تمكّن فعلاً الاستمتاع بتجربة قيادة مشوّقة حقيقية، وذلك من خلال توفير قوّة 610 أحصنة (449 كيلوواط) عند 8,000 دورة بالدقيقة للمحرّك مع عزم قدره 560 نيوتن-متر عند 6,500 دورة بالدقيقة، إضافة لتميّزها بالوزن الخفيف والدفع بالعجلات الخلفية والتوجيه الديناميكي، مما يمنح متعة قيادة قصوى. وتزن السيارة 1,389 كيلوغراماً فقط، وتتمتّع بسرعة قصوى تبلغ 325 كلم/ساعة مع إمكانية التسارع من 0 إلى 100 كلم/س في غضون 3.3 ثواني فقط. وعلى الرغم من قدراتها العالية جداً، لا تحصر Huracán EVO RWD نفسها فقط بسرعة السير على مسار مستقيم أو تسجيل الأرقام القياسية على الحلبة، بل إنها بفضل تصميمها الفريد الجديد تضع نفسها في موقع مختلف يجعلها السيارة الأمثل لتلبية الرغبة الحقيقية بالسرعة والتشويق لدى السائق.

تمت هندستها لتوفير متعة قيادة قصوى

يوفر محرّك V10 أكثر من مجرّد القوّة إلى نظام الدفع بالعجلات الخلفية. فالهدير المميّز لمحرّك السفط الطبيعي يجتمع مع نظام التحكّم بالجر الموالَف بشكل خاص لأجل توفير تجربة القيادة الأكثر متعة وغنى بالأحاسيس في الظروف الجافة والرطبة على حد سواء، وحتى أثناء السير على الدروب المغطاة بالثلج. وقد جرى تعيير نظام التحكّم بالجر عالي الأداء (Performance Traction Control System P-TCS) الجديد خصّيصاً لسيارة Huracán EVO ذات الدفع بالعجلات الخلفية، بحيث يتوفر العزم حتى خلال المرحلة التي تعاود السيارة فيها تعديل مسارها بعد الانجراف أو الانزلاق الجانبي.

وبينما يمكّن نظام التحكّم بالجر ‘العادي’ الفصل الحاد للاقتران - إذ يتم انتظار السيارة كي تصبح ثابتة بالكامل قبل توفير العزم من جديد، يعمل نظام P-TCS من جهته على توفير العزم بشكل مسبَق بحيث يتفادى القطع الحاد للعزم ويضمن تحقيق مستويات جر أفضل عند الخروج من المنعطف.

وتم تعيير تدخّل نظام P-TCS وفقاً لوضعيات القيادة في سيارة Huracán EVO RWD والتي يتم اختيارها عبر زر ANIMA (الإدارة الذكية التكيّفية للشبكة) الموجود في عجلة القيادة. ففي وضعية قيادة STRADA للسير على الطرقات العادية، يقوم نظام P-TCS بتخفيف انزلاق العجلة الخلفية للحد الأدنى لضمان التمتّع بالثبات والسلامة في كافة الظروف، إذ عبر استراتيجية استباقية أكثر، يقوم نظام P-TCS بإدارة عملية توفير العزم بشكل أفضل على الأسطح منخفضة التماسك.

أما في وضعية قيادة SPORT الرياضية، يعمل نظام P-TCS على تعزيز تجربة القيادة المشوّقة للحد الأقصى، حيث يمكن للعجلات الخلفية الانزلاق والانجراف أثناء التسارع لمنح متعة انجراف سهلة دون المساومة على السلامة. ويتميّز النظام بقدرته على التعرّف على الظروف المختلفة عند التعاظم السريع لزاوية التوجيه الزائد، وبالتالي يحدّ من توفير العزم إلى العجلات الخلفية مما يسمح للسائق التحكّم بشكل كامل بالسيارة وتثبيتها أكثر.

وفي وضعية قيادة CORSA المخصَّصة للحلبات، يتم تعيير نظام P-TCS لتفعيل انزلاق العجلة الخلفية بحيث تزيد مستويات جر السيارة ورشاقتها عند الخروج من منعطف، الأمر الذي يسمح للسائق تعزيز الأداء للحد الأقصى. ويعمل نظام P-TCS على تحسين نعومة التدخّل بنحو 30٪ مقارنة مع طراز Huracán RWD السابق، بحيث يتم تحسين الجر عند الخروج من المنعطف بنسبة 20٪ وتعزيز التوجيه الزائد بنسبة 30٪.

من ناحية أخرى، يجمع الشاسيه الهجين لسيارة Huracán EVO RWD الألمنيوم وألياف الكربون خفيفَي الوزن مع هيكل الألمنيوم ورزين اللدائن الحرارية، في ظل تحقيق وزن جاف إجمالي قدره 1,389 كيلوغراماً، مما يولّد معدّل وزن-إلى-قوّة قدره 2.28 كلغ/حصان. ومع توزيع الوزن بين الأمام/الخلف بنسبة 60/40، ترتكز Huracán EVO RWD على نظام تعليق بأذرع عرضية مزدوجة من الألمنيوم مع رباعيات أضلاع متداخلة وممتصّات صدمات كامنة. وتم بشكل خاص تعديل نظام ‘لامبورغيني’ للتوجيه الدينامنيكي (Lamborghini Dynamic Steering - LDS) الكهروميكانيكي بميّزة المساعَدة التصحيحية الميكانيكية كي يتلاءم كلّياً مع سيارة Huracán EVO RWD بحيث يضمن توفير المعلومات الارتجاعية بأفضل شكل ممكن. أما علبة التروس سباعية السرعات بالقابض المزدوج، فتضمن إتمام عمليات تبديل أسرع بين التعشيقات مع توافر ميّزة التحكّم بالانطلاق لتعزيز التسارع للحد الأقصى من نقطة الثبات التام. ويتم تزويد السيارة بعجلات نوع Kari قياس 19 بوصة يتم عليها تركيب عجلات Pirelli P Zero جرى تطويرها بشكل خاص، إضافة إلى وجود مكابح فولاذية مهوّاة ومثقَّبة تقاطعياً. وتتوفر اختيارياً عجلات قياس 20 بوصة مع مكابح من سيراميك الكربون.

تصميم جديد لأداء حقيقي

تستمر Huracán EVO RWD بتبنّي التصميم القوي لعائلة سيارات V10 من ‘لامبورغيني’ مع خصائص تصميمية جديدة في الأمام والخلف بحيث تميّزها بوضوح عن سابقتها سيارة Huracán EVO 4WD.

وتتألّق Huracán EVO RWD عبر خصائصها الشخصية المصقولة والهادفة التي تكمّلها ناشرة هوائية أمامية جديدة وزعانف عمودية ضمن منافذ الهواء الأمامية الأكبر التي يحدّها إطار بارز. بدوره، يشتمل المصد الخلفي باللون الأسود عالي اللمعان على ناشرة هوائية جديدة فريدة مخصَّصة لسيارة Huracán EVO RWD.

أما في الداخل، فتتألّق المقصورة عبر شاشة لمس HMI قياس 8.4 بوصات في الكونسول الوسطي بحيث تتيح التحكّم بكافة وظائف السيارة، بالإضافة إلى إدارة عمليات الاتصال الشاملة مثل المكالمات الهاتفية والدخول إلى شبكة الإنترنت. كما إنها تضم ميّزة Apple CarPlay.

من المهم الإشارة إلى أن برنامج Ad Personam من ‘لامبورغيني’ يقدّم خيارات غير مسبوقة لتخصيص السيارة من الداخل والخارج فيما يخصّ الألوان والكسوات، مما يمنح مالكي سيارات Huracán EVO RWD القدرة على إدخال أسلوبهم الخاص ولمساتهم الشخصية إلى سيارة ‘لامبورغيني’ المتميّزة الجديدة. ولأجل إبراز شكل السيارة أكثر، تم تطوير اللون الأصفر الجديد Giallo Belenus بالتوازي مع لون خاص للجلد وكسوة ألكانتارا للمقصورة الداخلية، بحيث تتوافق مع اللون الخارجي الجديد.

ستتوفر ’لامبورغيني Huracán EVO RWD‘ في الشرق الأوسط في ربيع العام 2020.
