Mimecast to Address Importance of Cyber Resilience for Email at Infosecurity Middle East

Abu Dhabi, UAE – March 4, 2018 – Mimecast Limited (NASDAQ: MIME), a leading email and data security company, and distributor Bulwark Technologies, will address the growing issue of cybercrime, at this year’s Infosecurity Middle East. Mimecast will give two Techtalks, covering ransomware and the importance of building a cyber resilience strategy in an evolving cyber threat landscape. Experts will also perform a series of live email hacks and demonstrate how organisations can protect themselves against advanced cyberattacks like spear-phishing and impersonation fraud. The event will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 6 to 8 March 2018.

“FM Global and Pentland Analytics’ 2017 Resilience Index Annual Report revealed that countries in the Middle East have a particularly high exposure to cyber risk. Email is the number one attack vector for cybercrime with more than 90% of cyber-attacks starting in your inbox. Attacks predominantly feature techniques such as spear-phishing, ransomware and impersonation of key employees. It’s also seldom the end goal for attackers, with over 70% of attacks leading to other systems in the network. Yet, email security is still largely ignored by enterprises,” said Brian Pinnock, cyber resilience expert at Mimecast.

Mimecast and Bulwark will address two topical cybersecurity concerns. The first is ransomware - a strain of malware that enters an organisation via email and locks down networks, systems and devices until a ransom is paid. Brian Pinnock will deliver a talk on Ransomware – how to manage an attack and how to recover one to save your business on March 6, 2018 at 2:30pm.

Pinnock will also present on Navigating the evolving cyber threat landscape and achieving cyber resilience for email on March 7, 2018 at 12.15pm. This presentation will address how email-borne threats have become prevalent and sophisticated, forcing organisations to shift to a cyber resilience strategy to better protect their business, data and employees. The presentation will cover the importance of threat protection, data protection and business continuity, to improve cyber resilience in the cloud.

Mimecast is exhibiting at Stand 6210 in Hall 6.

Disney Announces Transformative Multi-Year Expansion for Disneyland Paris

Walt Disney Studios Park to get New Areas Based on Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars

PARIS, March 1, 2018 – Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Robert A. Iger announced plans for a 2 billion euro, multi-year expansion for Disneyland Paris alongside French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palais de l’Elysée in Paris last February 27, 2018. The new development will include a transformation of the Walt Disney Studios Park, adding three new areas that are based on Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars, along with multiple new attractions and live entertainment experiences.

The expansion plan is one of the most ambitious development projects at Disneyland Paris since its opening in 1992 and underscores the Company’s commitment to the long-term success of the resort as Disney’s brand beacon in Europe.

“We’re very excited about the future of Disneyland Paris and continue to invest in its long-term success,” said Robert A. Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company. “The resort is already the leading tourist destination in Europe, and the transformative expansion we announced today will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment that further elevate the guest experience and drive new opportunities for tourism in this dynamic region.”

The new areas will infuse some of Disney’s most popular stories and characters into this unique destination, building upon the success of the resort’s 25th Anniversary celebration and continuing to enhance the guest experience for millions of Europeans.

With over 320 million visits since 1992 and representing 6.2 percent of France’s tourism income, Disneyland Paris has played a key leadership role in tourism for the region. The resort continues to be a powerful driver of economic and social development with over 16,000 employees representing 100 nationalities. This investment will help make the region even more dynamic and appealing and open up more opportunities for French and European citizens in the tourism industry.

The multi-year development will roll out in phases beginning in 2020, expanding the Walt Disney Studios Park to nearly double its current size when complete. In addition to the three new areas, the creative vision includes a new lake, which will be the focal point for entertainment experiences and will also connect each of the new park areas.

In the spring of 2017, Disneyland Paris kicked off its 25th Anniversary celebration including new entertainment and experiences for guests. The resort also completed a two-year refurbishment program, updating and renovating many of the classic attractions in the parks, as well as opening multiple new entertainment shows such as Mickey and the Magician, which won a 2017 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions theme park industry award for “Best Theatrical Production.” Additionally, several major renovations took place at the resort’s hotels including Disney’s Newport Bay Club, which is now a four-star hotel.

Just this month, Disneyland Paris announced plans for a new Marvel-themed attraction that will be coming to the Walt Disney Studios, part of the new Marvel area development. In 2020, the resort will open Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, a reimagining of Disney’s Hotel New York that will showcase the inspiring worlds of Iron Man, The Avengers, and Spider Man, among others. And this summer, the Marvel Summer of Super Heroes seasonal event will take place at Disneyland Paris, where guests can meet their favorite heroes and experience new live entertainment.

Europe’s number one tourist destination, Disneyland Paris boasts two spectacular theme parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park) and seven themed Disney hotels with 5,800 rooms (more than 2,700 rooms are available in Selected and Associated Hotels). Two full-service convention centers and a world-class 27-hole golf course are also present. In addition to this, the destination is home to Disney Village - one of the largest entertainment complexes in the Ile-de-France region. Spread over more than 30,000m², Disney Village proposes themed dining, shopping and cinema experiences. Disneyland Paris comprises 59 attractions, 63 shops, and 55 restaurants.

AUC LAUNCHES SMOKE AND TOBACCO FREE CAMPUS INITIATIVE

February 27, 2018, Cairo – In an effort to make The American University in Cairo (AUC) a healthier campus by the centennial celebration in 2019, the University has launched an initiative to ban smoking and tobacco use on campus in phases. The initiative kicked off this month, permitting smoking only in designated areas around campus. The second phase will soon permit smoking only outside of the pedestrian gates, so that by February 2019, there will be no smoking or tobacco use of any kind allowed anywhere at AUC.

The Tobacco-Free AUC Committee, made up of students, faculty and administrative representatives, has been working on a plan to ban tobacco use on campus and has updated the AUC community with the latest policy. “Our diverse team of students, faculty, and staff that includes both smokers and non-smokers was assembled to ensure a maximum range of viewpoints on the topic,” said David Folsom, who is on the Tobacco-Free AUC Committee from the Office of the Executive Vice Provost. “We believe that the steps we debated and eventually decided upon are fair and consistent with the best practices of universities in the United States that have undergone the tobacco-free transformation we are setting in motion.” At the start of the new year, there are more than 2,000 smoke-free campuses in the United States, according to the American Nonsmokers Rights Foundation.

Jaime Mendoza, associate professor of practice of psychology professor at AUC, who is also on the committee, said he empathizes with smokers who will have to make changes in their social and personal habits, but ultimately, “the overall goal is for all of us to become healthier. The team is concerned about our health now and in the future,” he said.

The committee -- which includes smokers -- has said that complete prohibition is ultimately for the betterment of all.

Having a tobacco-free campus is designed to clear the air for the majority of those who work and study at AUC, who are non smokers, in addition to encouraging smokers to take steps to reduce their dependence on tobacco,” Folsom said. “The ill-effects of consuming tobacco and inhaling secondhand smoke are numerous and well-documented, so there is a clear public health benefit to moving the campus toward a tobacco-free future.”

In addition to easing into the new policy, AUC is also providing free smoking cessation services at the Office of Medical Services, open every day during the week.
