Our number one guiding principle in approaching companies was that they should be recognized as excellent employers – companies that people love to work for!
After all, if someone enjoys working in a particular company, it stands to reason that he/ she will stay longer.
Simple, right?
Therefore, the two recognitions that we referred to were Fortune’s Great Places to Work (which included lists for several North American and European countries) and Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work.
And by the way, we are delighted to have Glassdoor as a contributor to this article too!
We spoke to a wide variety of companies in terms of industry, size and location.

With participation at nearly 85% globally, it’s worth noting that our survey results consistently predict strong employee retention overall.

One of the most interesting things that I learned during this study, was that employee retention strategies aren’t something that only Human Resources has responsibility for. Great companies recognize that it has to be woven into the fabric of their very existence. It’s about giving your employees a fulfilling experience at the workplace today and the opportunity for a great future.
Your employee retention strategies might involve opportunities for further education, a sabbatical, giving people the opportunity to work across the globe, the right financial rewards and financial wellness benefits, etc. But what’s common to all these initiatives is about listening to your employees and understanding and respecting their present and future needs.
Give people a great experience today and tomorrow, and they will stay!

Marasi News collaborates with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport to enrich the importance of the maritime education in the region

Egypt_ Alexandria, 31 December 2017: Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar, President at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and Marasi News signed a protocol for media collaboration that aims at highlighting the great economic capabilities infatuated by the Arab maritime sector. The agreement also reinforces the strategic role of the Arab Academy as one of the most important educational organizations that provides the maritime sector with trained and qualified cadres in accordance with the highest scientific and practical standards.
The agreement comes with a slogan “Towards an integrated Arab maritime sector focusing on innovation and excellence”, in order to benefit from the great potentials available in the Arab region, especially its strategic geographical location and the advanced maritime infrastructure that is capable of supporting the economics in the Arab region.
The agreement was signed at the headquarter of the Academy in Alexandria by Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar, President at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and Mrs. Effat Fawzy Mostafa, the PR & Communication Manager at Tactics Marketing Management and the Managing Editor of Marasi News. That was with the presence of Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam Dawood, the Vice President for the Maritime Affairs at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Dr. Mohammed Al Sayeh, Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Transport and Technology, Mr. Moataz Kams, the Director of the Media Department and Her Highness Princess and Captain. Sarah Al Saud, the Director of Maritime Business Development at the Academy in addition to a high delegation of senior officials from the Academy.
Commenting on this occasion, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar, President at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, stated that: “The Arab Maritime Sector has always been in need for a specialized and professional media partner that will transfer to the world the great success and achievements of the Arab countries in the maritime field. This has encouraged us to sign a protocol agreement with Marasi News media platform after the great success that they have achieved with their professional media coverage, as well as the huge presence of their team amongst officials and decision makers in the maritime region.”

من جهتها علقت السيدة عفت فوزي مصطفى، مدير العلاقات العامة والاتصال في شركة تاكتكس للإدارة التسويقية، ومديرة التحرير في منصة مراسي نيوز الإعلامية حول الآفاق التي تفتحها هذه الاتفاقية لتطوير المحتوى الملاحي في المنصة قائلة: "يمثل توقيع هذه الاتفاقية نقطة تحول رئيسة لمنصة مراسي الإعلامية، إذ إنها تكرس جدارتها بلقب أفضل منصة إعلامية ملاحية في العالم العربي والذي حصلت عليه عام ٢٠١٦ في حفل جوائز "شيبتك"، كما أن الأكاديمية ستساعد في تعزيز انتشار وتوزيع مجلة مراسي نيوز لتصل إلى شرائح جديدة وهامة من الجمهور، إضافة إلى تعزيز محتوى المنصة بكمية كبيرة من الموضوعات التي ينتجها خبراء الملاحة البحريين العاملين في الأكاديمية، وسنتشرف بأن نكون معرضاً مفتوحاً لكافة الأبحاث والمشروعات الهندسية التي يتم تطويرها من قبل الطلاب والبحاثين في الأكاديمية".
