Al Ansari Exchange integrates the “Direct Payment System” in its ‘eExchange’ online platform for faster & more secure digital transactions

UAE, September 11, 2017 - Al Ansari Exchange, the UAE-based foreign exchange and worldwide money transfer company, has integrated the new Direct Payment System into its online remittance platform www.eexchange.ae, to provide faster and more secure transactions to its customers across the country as well as enhance their digital experience and satisfaction. The move has effectively reduced the existing two-step process into a single, easy procedure. This development is a first among the exchange industry in the UAE.

Rashed Al Ansari, General Manager, Al Ansari Exchange, said: “With ease and peace of mind, our customers can transact via our online platform and then digitally pay the cost right there and then. Online transactions on our eExchange.ae was previously a two-step process, namely making the transaction online and then settling the fees in a separate mode. Through the integration of the new Direct Payment System into our platform, we are now effectively able to provide an additional convenient and efficient payment option for our customers around-the-clock. Al Ansari Exchange is always looking for opportunities to better improve customer experience and this move is one of our many steps to deliver on this commitment.”

The new system accepts two payment instruments, the Current or Savings Account and the debit card. Dealings via the Direct Payment System are verified in real-time, allowing for faster credit of transactions. Tapping into the Direct Payment System is also part of Al Ansari Exchange’s efforts to contribute to the UAE’s smart transformation initiatives.

Arabia CSR Network to hold three-day training course in Dubai on new sustainability reporting standards

UAE, September 11, 2017 - Arabia CSR Network, the Middle East region’s leading training service provider and think tank, has announced that it is rolling out the 3rd comprehensive training course this year on the new Global Reporting Standards GRI Standards, the world’s first global standards for sustainability reporting.

The three-day training will take place in September from the 26th to 28th 2017. It will focus on the latest updates in sustainability reporting to help organisations across the region better understand and communicate their impact on crucial sustainability issues.    

The accredited course content will be delivered through lectures, discussions, exercises, and case studies. ACSRN professional trainers will lead the extensive and free-flowing discussions on the new GRI Standards to help participants begin their reporting process using the latest criteria. A certificate will be issued to the attendees upon successful course completion from the Headquarters of GRI in Amsterdam.

الإمارات 11 سبتمبر 2017 – أعلنت "الشبكة العربية للمسؤولية الاجتماعية للمؤسسات"، مركز الأبحاث والمزود الرائد لخدمات التدريب في الشرق الأوسط ، عن عقدها الدورة التدريبية الثالثة الشاملة والمتكاملة لهذا العام حول المعايير الجديدة للمبادرة العالمية لإعداد تقارير الاستدامة (GRI)، المعايير الدولية الأولى لتقارير الاستدامة.

وستمتد الدورة على مدار ثلاثة أيام في الفترة من 26 الى 28 سبتمبر الحالي. وستركز على أحدث  التفاصيل في تقارير الاستدامة، وذلك لمساعدة المؤسسات والشركات في المنطقة للوصول الى فهم أعمق واشمل لطبيعة ومدى تأثيرها على القضايا المتعلقة بالاستدامة.

وستتخلل الدورة المعتمدة سلسلة من المحاضرات والجلسات النقاشية والتدريبية ودراسات الحالة. وسيقوم مدربون من "الشبكة العربية للمسؤولية الاجتماعية للمؤسسات" بالإشراف على المناقشات المعمقة والمتمحورة حول المعايير الجديدة للمبادرة العالمية لإعداد تقارير الاستدامة (GRI)، لمساعدة المشاركين على البدء في عملية إعداد تقارير الاستدامة وفقاً  للمعايير الأخيرة. كما سيتم منح المشاركين شهادة معتمدة عند استمكال الدورة بنجاح من قبل المقر الرئيسي للمبادرة العالمية لإعداد تقارير الاستدامة في أمستردام.

HUAWEI CLOUD and Microsoft Apps Embark on New Strategic Cooperation

Lebanon – September 9, 2017: At HUAWEI CONNECT 2017, Huawei and Microsoft signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Cloud Service under which Microsoft applications will be released on HUAWEI CLOUD. AUC WELCOMES STUDENTS FOR 2017 FALL SEMESTER

September 6, 2017, Cairo – Today, The American University in Cairo (AUC) welcomed more than 1000 undergraduates and 243 graduate students for the 2017 Fall semester. Once again, AUC is set to experience a wave of integration, diversity and multiculturalism, as the undergraduate Class of 2021 includes Egyptian students from 23 governorates and international students from countries such as Syria, Nigeria, Germany, the United States, Jordan, Palestine, Denmark, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The undergraduate class is composed of 564 female students and 448 male students. Moreover, about 100 incoming undergraduates have received scholarships and financial aid. AUC also expects to provide need-based financial aid to more than 2,000 undergraduate students for Fall 2017.

As for the graduate class, 41​​ students come from 18 countries around the globe, which include the United States, Canada, Ghana, Nigeria, Japan, Sudan, the Netherlands, Madagascar, Yemen, China, Bahrain, Eritrea and Syria.​

In addition to incoming students, 62 full-time faculty members have joined AUC this fall, hailing from countries such as Canada, Australia, Britain, the United States, Estonia, Ghana, Lebanon, Turkey, Switzerland, Ireland, Poland, Pakistan and Germany, in addition to Egypt.

Last week’s orientation ended with inspirational and welcoming remarks from President Francis Ricciardone, Provost Ehab Abdel-Rahman and Dean of Students George Marquis.

Ricciardone’s message enlightened students on the mission and vision of AUC, and the adamant goal of aligning its curriculum, pedagogy and research with developments taking place around the world, and to "have absolutely the best in all our academic pursuits." He also highlighted the role of parents, alumni, trustees and donors in helping AUC strive and maintain its position as one of the top universities locally, regionally and globally.

Abdel-Rahman excitedly spoke about the diversity found in this year’s incoming class, stating that it will be a rich experience for students from all disciplines and years, and inviting them to interact and learn from the cross-cultural environment nurtured at AUC. “We are a diverse community, and both our incoming students and faculty demonstrate this defining characteristic, unique to AUC," he asserted. "One of the distinguishing features AUC offers is the opportunity to meet, make friends with and learn from people of similar and dissimilar backgrounds.”

After an overview of incoming international students and faculty members, Abdel-Rahman emphasized, “These opportunities remind us that at the end of the day, despite our similarities or differences, we are here for the same purpose: to learn so we can make the world a little better.”

Abdel-Rahman reminded attendees of AUC’s unique heritage that can only be maintained and uplifted through their future efforts. “We have achieved great things in our near 100-year history, and we can always grow and improve," he said. "Let us not be content with what we have before us. Let us work together to make AUC an even better, even stronger institution than it is now.”

Marquis emphasized the University’s commitment to provide students with resources and encouraged them to pursue cocurricular activities. “Some of you may be thinking that you won’t have the time to balance both academics and cocurriculars, but we know that students who are actively engaged in campus life find their experience at AUC to be more enriching and satisfying,” he said. 

Students from all walks of life are embarking on their new journeys at AUC. Egyptian student Ziad El Hares, who plans on studying construction engineering at AUC spent orientation week socializing and searching for clubs to join, “I already joined two clubs on campus.”

Leone Close, Undergraduate Study Abroad, Islamic Studies and Political Science from Germany, shared her first week experience, “For me, it’s very different. In Germany, we don’t have a welcome week like this! It’s just something new to me: the American system and Egyptian students. People have been very friendly here. I want to invite students from AUC to Germany, and likewise, I believe students in Germany would love to study at AUC.”
