Rio 2016 was the most social Olympic Games in history, with athletes, celebrities and fans across the world coming to Instagram to connect around the world’s largest sporting event. The celebrations, commiserations, events—and the all moments in between—were captured and shared by the platform's global community through photos, videos and Instagram Stories.
Between 5th – 21st August 131 million people posted, liked, commented and shared pictures and video associated with the Games 916 million times
From Tom Daley’s celebrations and Usain Bolt's signature pose, to Gisele Bundchen's love for Brazil and Zac Efron's support for the U.S. Gymnastics team, a variety of authentic and behind-the-scenes milestones were marked on Instagram.

ريو ٢٠١٦ ودورة الألعاب الأولمبية العالمية الأشهر اجتماعياً في التاريخ، والتي تجمع عبر صفحات انستغرام الرياضيين، المشاهير والمشجعين من مختلف انحاء العالم في أكبر حدث رياضي على مستوى العالم. بدءاً من الحدث الاحتفالات، تفاعل وتعاطف الجمهور، - لحظة بلحظة – يتم بثها مباشرة ومشاركتها عبر منصة الشبكة العالمية عبر الصور والفيديوهات وقصص انستغرام.
ما بين تاريخ ٥ -٢١ أغسطس شارك ١٣١ مليون شخص، بنشر، وأعجاب، وتعليق، وصور، وفيديوهات مشتركة حول دورة الألعاب الأولمبية لتصل بذلك المشاركات الى ٩١٦ مليون مشاركة.
