DuPont CEO and Chairman Ranks No. 5 on Fortune Most Powerful Women 2015

UAE – September 30, 2015 – Ellen Kullman, CEO and Chairman of DuPont, a science company that brings world-class innovative products, materials, and services to the global marketplace, has been named one of Fortune Most Powerful Women for 2015. The 59-year-old American business executive has maintained her 5th position on the 18th annual list which includes 51 women, 27 of whom are CEOs.

Ellen Kullman, has been chair of the board of directors and chief executive officer of DuPont since 2009.  She was named CEO on Jan. 1 and board chair on Dec. 31, 2009. She is the 19th executive to lead the company since DuPont was founded in 1802.

A native of Wilmington, Del., Ellen has championed the power of DuPont science and global market knowledge to transform industries. She has decisively positioned the company for its next generation of growth, executing a strong plan that is delivering results today while positioning DuPont for future growth.

Ellen holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and a Master of Science in Management from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.  In 2011 she received an honorary Doctor of Engineering from Lehigh University followed by Doctors in Science from the University of Edinburgh and the University of Delaware in consecutive years.

الرئيس التنفيذي ورئيس مجلس إدارة شركة "دوبونت" تحتل المرتبة الخامسة على قائمة "فورتشن" لأقوى سيدات الأعمال في العالم لعام 2015

30 سبتمبر 2015 – تم إدراج إلين كولمان، الرئيس التنفيذي ورئيس مجلس إدارة "دوبونت" (DuPont)، الشركة القائمة على البحث العلمي وتقديم المنتجات والمواد والخدمات المبتكرة للسوق العالمي، ضمن قائمة "فورتشن" لأقوى سيدات الأعمال  في العالم لعام 2015 (Fortune Most Powerful Women for 2015). وإحتلت مديرة الأعمال الأمريكية البالغة من العمر 59 عاماً المرتبة الخامسة في القائمة السنوية الثامنة عشرة والتي ضمت 51 سيدة 27 منهن مدراء تنفيذيين.

وتحمل كولمان بكالوريوس العلوم في الهندسة الميكانيكية من جامعة "تافتس"، كما نالت درجة الماجستير في الإدارة من "معهد كيلوغ للإدارة" التابع لجامعة "نورث وسترن". وحصلت كولمان خلال العام 2011 على الدكتوراه الفخرية في الهندسة من جامعة "ليهاي"، ثم منحت درجة الدكتوراه الفخرية في العلوم من جامعة "أيدنبيرغ" وجامعة "ديلاوير" في سنوات متتالية.

Air Products‘ Richard Boocock announced as gasworld MENA Industrial Gas Conference speaker

Salary increases in the Middle East expected to outstrip inflation rates for 2016

Employees in the region can expect salary increases of between 4.7% and 6%

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 29 September 2015 – Middle East employees can expect pay increases between 4.7% and 6% in 2016, according to Towers Watson’s latest Salary Budget Planning Study*. The study, primarily covering private sector companies, shows that average pay rises outweigh the regional inflation rates, giving employees real increases for their wages.

Pay rises across the Middle East region are expected to reach 5% next year in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar, while Jordan and Lebanon employees will enjoy average pay rises in the region of 6% and 5.8% respectively. Bahrain will have the lowest increases of 4.6%, while Saudi Arabia average rises will be 5.5%.

Laurent Leclère, Senior Consultant and Data Services Lead for the Middle East  at Towers Watson, said: “Middle East employees can expect a steady rise in their incomes, with most countries in the region expected to have similar pay rises next year as in 2015. However, next year the real rise in their income might feel slightly less than this year, due to the growing inflation rates in the region”.

The outlook for the Middle East region next year is very similar in terms of wage rises but inflation is anticipated to rise compared to 2015, hovering at around 3%. Oman will witness the lowest inflation rate in the region, of only 1.8%, while Saudi will have the highest, at 3.5%. Only the UAE is expected to have a lower inflation rate next year, at 2.7%, down one percent from 2015. In Bahrain and Qatar, the average inflation will rise slightly, to 2.5% and 3% respectively, whereas Jordan and Lebanon will see a steep rise by almost 3%, from a negative inflation this year, which means the wage rises in real terms will feel lower.

Sectors that will see a higher salary rise in the UAE in 2016 compared to this year are Financial and professional services, as well as Energy and Natural Resources. Most companies plan to allocate the larger portion of their salary increase budget to high performers, while a few plan to share the budget allocated to all employees at same rate.

The Ajman Palace Hotel and Coral Beach Resort Sharjah Join the Pink Caravan Breast Cancer Initiative During October 2015

October is the international Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and both The Ajman Palace Hotel and Coral Beach Resort Sharjah have joined Pink Caravan, a Pan UAE breast cancer initiative by Friends of Cancer Patients, to support the cause.

Making the announcement, General Manager Ferghal Purcell, said on behalf of both hotels, "We are delighted to support Pink Caravan Breast Cancer Initiative. The organization has been playing an instrumental role in the UAE in the fight against breast cancer. Awareness of the disease and the need for early diagnosis play a key role in improving survival rates. To help raise funds for the cause we will be placing special donation boxes at the reception areas of both our hotels to allow guests to contribute to the charity from 1st to 31st October 2015. In addition, all staff at our hotels will be wearing pink ribbons throughout the month.  Pink ribbons will also be distributed among our guests along with flyers during this period."

Dr Sawsan Al Madhi, Director General of Friends of Cancer Patients and Head of the Medical and Awareness Committee of Pink Caravan, stated, "The Pink Caravan functions under the umbrella of the 'KASHF' Program, which provides information and guidance to facilitate the early detection of many types of cancers, Pink Caravan, KASHF's flagship initiative focuses on raising awareness and education around breast cancer detection and offers high quality free breast cancer screening across the UAE. Pink Caravan’s vision in the near future is to give free breast cancer screenings throughout the year, via a mobile mammography unit, CareVan. أكتوبر هو الشهر العالمي للتوعية بسرطان الثدي ، انضم كل من فندق القصرعجمان و منتجع كورال بيتش الشارقة للقافلة الوردية، وهي إحدى مبادرات جمعية أصدقاء مرضى السرطان، دعماً للقضية.

قال السيد فيرغال بارسيل ، المدير العام نيابة عن الفندقين، "نحن سعداء لدعم القافلة الوردية المبادرة المعنية بالتوعية بمرض سرطان الثدي وتقديم الفحوصات المجانية، وقد لعبت المبادرة دوراً أساسياً في رفع الوعي وتصحيح المفاهيم المغلوطة حول المرض بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. التوعية و التشخيص المبكر يلعبان دوراً رئيسياً في تحسين معدلات الناجين من المرض. للمساعدة في دعم المبادرة سنقوم بوضع صناديق للتبرعات في مناطق الاستقبال بالفندقين للسماح للزوار بالمساهمة في دعم المبادرة من 1 إلى 31 أكتوبر 2015، إضاقةً إلى ذلك، جميع الموظفين في فندقينا سوف يرتدون الشرائط الوردية طوال الشهر، كما سيتم توزيع الشرائط الوردية بين ضيوفنا جنبا إلى جنب مع النشرات خلال هذه الفترة ".

انطلقت القافلة الوردية بتوجيهات من قرينة صاحب السمو حاكم الشارقة، سمو الشيخة جواهر بنت محمد القاسمي، الرئيس المؤسس لجمعية أصدقاء مرضى السرطان، سفيرة الاتحاد الدولي لمكافحة السرطان للإعلان العالمي للسرطان، سفيرة الاتحاد الدولي لمكافحة السرطان لسرطانات الأطفال.

ماكلارين أوتوموتيف تعين كيني براك في منصب سائق تطوير واختبارات

حصل برنامج الأبحاث والتطوير لدى ماكلارين أوتوموتيف على دفعة من الدعم مع انضمام كيني براك للعمل كسائق تطوير واختبارات لدى الشركة. ومع الإعلان عن إطلاق الفئة الرياضية، فإن ماكلارين أوتوموتيف قد قدمت الفئات الثلاث لسياراتها التي تتمتع بقدرات ومزايا هائلة. ويهدف برنامج التطوير إلى دعم توسيع إنتاج ماكلارين من السيارات المتميزة، والتي من المتوقع أن تشكل 20 بالمائة من حجم العائدات الكلي خلال عام 2015.

ويتمتع كيني براك، البالغ من العمر 49 سنة، بخبرة هائلة في عالم السيارات والسباقات، حيث تتضمن مسيرته المهنية إحراز بطولة دوري إندي ريسينغ للسائقين عام 1998. وفي العام التالي، انضم السائق السويدي إلى نخبة سائقي السيارات، بعدما حصل على لقب بطولة جائزة بورغ وارنر الشهيرة، محققاً الانتصار في سباق إندي 500. وبهذه الإنجازات ينضم كيني إلى أبطال السباقات لدى ماكلارين، مثل جوني روثرفورد، ومارك دونوهي، وإيمرسون فيتبالدي. وتمتد مسيرته المهنية الحافلة إلى أكثر من ثلاثة عقود، وتتضمن الحصول على الميدالية الذهبية في سباق/رالي إكس-غيمز، وعدداً من الانتصارات في السباقات والراليات. ومؤخراً ساعد كيني في تطوير عدد من السيارات التاريخية، وقيادتها خلال السباقات، كما حقق انتصارات على حلبة غوودوود ريفايفال عام 2011 في سيارة شيلبي كوبرا دايتونا كوبيه وعام 2013  في سيارة فورد جي تي 40.

ولا يعد كيني براك غريباً عن ماكلارين، فقد سبق له أن قاد عدداً من الطرازات القديمة والحديثة على مدار السنوات الماضية، وفي 2014، قاد سيارة "ماكلارين إف 1 جي تي آر لونغ تيل" على حلبة غوودوود هيل الشهيرة ضمن مهرجان السرعة، وانضم إلى مجموعة السائقين في ملتقى أعضاء غوودوود 73، والذي شهد مشاركة 16 سيارة من طراز ماكلارين إف1 جي تي آر على الحلبة. وخلال هذا الصيف، انضم كيني إلى ماكلارين أوتوموتيف كسائق ضيف خلال مهرجان السرعة لقيادة سيارة ماكلارين بي 1 جي تي آر المخصصة للحلبات فقط.

وقد انضم كيني براك إلى فريق ماكلارين أوتوموتيف ذي الخبرة الطويلة من أجل المساهمة في اختبار السيارات وتطويرها. وتتولى هذه المجموعة من السائقين اختبار أعمال التطوير على طرازات ماكلارين القادمة ضمن الفئات الثلاث. وتشمل الطرازات القادمة التي سيتم إطلاقها كلاً من 570 إس كوبيه، و540 سي كوبيه، على أن يتم تسليم أول السيارات قبل نهاية العام. وسيكون هذان الطرازان الأكثر توفراً من بين طرازات ماكلارين حتى الآن، كما سيتمتعان بأحدث التقنيات المخصصة للسباقات التي أطلقتها ماكلارين، وسينقلان متعة القيادة في السيارات الفارهة إلى سوق السيارات الرياضية.
