Kngine Announces New Round of Investment from Samsung Open Innovation Center And Vodafone Ventures Egypt

Investment in the Question Answering Application Coincides with their Release of Kngine 3.0 Which Outperforms Others By a Factor of 3x


September 09, 2014 – Cairo, Egypt - Kngine announced today it has received a new round of investment from Samsung Open Innovation Center, USA, and Vodafone Ventures Egypt. The investment round aims to help Kngine further revolutionize the question answering and search technology industry which coincides with their release of its third and latest version.  Sawari Ventures, the Cairo-based venture capital firm, was the first entity to invest in Kngine on the belief that it would create a breakthrough in the question answering and search technology industry.

Traditionally, search engines identify keywords and rank documents based on relevance to that keyword.  Kngine’s proprietary technology, however, understands words’ semantic and extracts factual information from the entire data on the web to build, update and add to its Knowledge Graph, which today consists of more than six billion facts about millions of concepts.  Kngine then utilizes this Knowledge Graph to understand and answer user queries. Furthermore, Kngine’s algorithm is self-feeding whereby it improves itself over time adding to the depth and complexity of the Knowledge Graph created.

Kngine is the world's first multi-language question answering engine. Currently, Kngine supports English, Arabic, German and Spanish with more languages to be added soon.  Kngine has developed a mobile app that showcases its search technology, and is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Imdaad incorporates Quality Practice in workplace to prevent non-conformances

  Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities management (FM) solutions in the GCC, in cooperation with EHSQ (Environment, Health, Safety and Quality) Department, has announced the launch of the Quality Practice for its employees. As part of the drive, a quality practice will be incorporated as an everyday practice in the workplace that will engage employees to improve the quality of their work and enhance service excellence. Inaugural Smart Living City Dubai 2014 to kick start next week

Securing connected homes will be key for the success of the Dubai Smart City initiative, according to Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704).

Organizations lose millions of dollars due to lack of end user productivity

The implementation of a centralized access system and comprehensive security solutions for mainframe enterprises are leading to increased productivity and enhanced efficiency of companies and organizations in the Middle East region. Across today’s complex information technology (IT) environment, end users are faced with a multitude of different account names, authentication requirements and associated (complex) password rules. This results in continued pressures on IT helpdesk organizations to spend much of their time responding to password reset requests instead of attending to and supporting real IT problems.

Organizations lose millions of dollars due to this lack of end user productivity. The complexity is further compounded by the deployment of Cloud and mobile applications. يواجه المستخدمون النهائيون العديد من التحديات في التعامل مع عالم التكنولوجيا الحديثة والمعقدّة اليوم، أهمّها مشكلة تعدّد الحسابات الإلكترونية ومتطلّبات المصادقة لجميع حالات الإستخدام، بالإضافة إلى القواعد الصارمة لإنشاء كلمات المرور، الأمر الذي يدفع المؤسّسات المتخصّصة في قطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات إلى التركيز على هذه المشاكل الثانوية كإعادة تعيين كلمات المرور، عوضاً عن التركيز على معالجة المشاكل الكبرى التي يعاني منها القطاع. 

وتتكبّد هذه المؤسّسات خسائر بالملايين من الدولارات بسبب تراجع إنتاجية المستخدمين النهائيين في ظل إطلاق التطبيقات السحابية وتطبيقات الهواتف النقالة التي زادت من صعوبة الأمر. ويكمن الحل لمشكلة تراجع الإنتاجية، في تعزيز إدارة النفاذ المركزي وتسهيل عملية إدارة كلمات المرور للحسابات الإلكترونية. وإلى ذلك، عمدت شركة "الفلك للمعدات والتجهيزات الإلكترونية"، خلال مشاركتها في فعاليات "معرض ومؤتمر الخليج لأمن المعلومات 2014"،  إلى عقد جلسة خاصة لإطلاع المؤسسات على الخطوات التنظيمية والتقنية اللازمة للنجاح في إدارة النفاذ المركزي. 

وقال ستانلي هيبرت، المدير الفني لقسم البرامج في شركة "الفلك للمعدات والتجهيزات الإلكترونية": "هدفت هذه الجلسة إلى تحسين إنتاجية المستخدمين النهائيين من خلال التركيز على إدارة النفاذ المركزي وتعزيز الحلول الأمنية المصممة خصيصا لحماية الشركات المركزية. وعلاوة على ذلك، عكفت "الفلك" خلال مشاركتها في المؤتمر على إعادة إطلاق العلامة التجارية "فانجارد" في أسواق الخليج العربي، وذلك تماشياً مع سعيها الدؤوب لترسيخ مكانتها الرائدة في توفير أحدث الحلول الأمنية المركزية في المنطقة." 

ويعد "معرض ومؤتمر الخليج لأمن المعلومات" منصةً مثاليةً لزيادة الوعي الأمني في المنطقة والتواصل مع أهم الخبراء وأصحاب الإختصاص لإكتساب المعرفة والخبرة في المجال. ويتخلل الحدث أيضا إستعراض التكنولوجيات المتطورة في مجالات المحاكاة الإفتراضية والحوسبة السحابية والتواصل الإجتماعي، بالإضافة إلى تسليط الضوء على أحدث الحلول الأمنية والخدمات المستخدمة في قطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات.
