Hollywood, Florida (April 28, 2026)- Following her presence at multiple national events, as well as a recent dedicated feature on WSFL TV’s ‘Morning Rush’ hosted by Cameron Dobbs, renowned Tedx Speaker as well as resilience, leadership, and reproductive health advocate Dr. Marline C. Duroseau has announced her nomination for ‘Dissertation of the Year,’ an honor amplifying her voice and research on how infertility struggles impact women progressing across the business world.
‘Dissertation of the Year’ is an annual award competition hosted by National University, during which outstanding academic work is recognized for its innovation, diversity, and excellence while maintaining NU’s mission and values. Dr. Mar’s dissertation, ‘The Lived Infertility Experience of Women in Leadership Roles,’ discusses in detail how lived infertility experiences shape leadership identity, practices, and even philosophy for women in leadership positions, culminating in the importance of not only empathy, but resilience, emotional intelligence, adaptation, ethics, and authenticity.
“Having worked for years to overcome my own struggles with infertility, this dissertation and the research that brought it to life have always been incredibly important to me,” expressed Dr. Mar, who also authored her memoir It'll Happen By 30: A Relentless Journey of Faith | Delayed But Not Denied to showcase her personal journey of overcoming adversity and the often-secretive grief that holds people back from their next path in life.
“To say I am honored for this nomination would be an understatement- I know this recognition will allow even more people to discover my work, allowing them to learn so much more about a reality they may not have considered. Or, for those who can relate, it can provide a sense of comfort and support, which remain among my deepest properties as I continue to grow my advocacy platform.”
The current Managing Director of HR & Leadership Development at Brandon Hall Group, Duroseau has received national coverage for her 2025 TEDx Raleigh talk “The Secret Battle Behind Powerful Women Leaders” that spotlighted the hidden personal struggles of women leaders, as well as the importance of embracing vulnerability and disruption in order to unlock powerful, empathetic leadership. These messages were derived from her dissertation, which she has previously publicly defended.
Additionally, Dr. Mar has spoken at Boca Raton’s "Women in Leadership Shaping Tomorrow" event, the Transform 2026 conference, the Elevate RTP summit ‘Navigating Complexity Through Connection, Innovation, and Leadership’ in Raleigh, North Carolina, and many more. She also hosts each year the leadership-based Women Matter Vision Event, which she kickstarted in her own backyard.
