DISCOVERY
Chernobyl: Days That Shocked the World | Brand New
It has been forty years since the world was shaken by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The documentary Chornobyl: Days that Shook the World reconstructs the events and features testimonies from people who lived in Pripyat or worked at the nuclear plant. It reveals how the catastrophe was kept secret, even from local residents, while a chemical engineer recalls leaving the reactor the night before to celebrate her birthday, only to learn the next day that colleagues had died. A doctor describes the first victim brought in, his skin turned blue from radiation.
Others remember how life seemed to continue as normal: one person went to school while the reactor was already burning, unaware of the danger despite helicopters flying overhead. Even during the evacuation of 50,000 residents, the outside world remained uninformed. Only after alarming radiation levels were detected in Sweden did the truth emerge, forcing Soviet leaders to acknowledge the disaster.
Airs: Sunday, 26 April at 21:00 KSA. Discovery is available via OSNtv channel no. 50, BeIN channel no. 201, stc tv channel no. 205 and TV by e& channel no. 360.
TLC
The Bad Skin Clinic | New Season
In a new season of The Bad Skin Clinic, consultant dermatologist Dr. Emma Craythorne once again helps patients who have been unable to find treatment elsewhere for their skin conditions. She tackles everything from burning pain and itchy eczema to pimples and large lumps, using a holistic approach that addresses both symptoms and underlying causes. Across the series, she treats a wide range of cases, from common skin issues to rare and life-altering conditions, supported by nurses Mottie and Rosie.
For the first time, two special hour-long episodes focus entirely on extraordinary single cases. Twenty-year-old Zoe lives with some of the most severe facial scarring Dr. Emma has ever seen and, after three previous surgeries, turns to her for a final, high-risk attempt to remove her keloids. Samantha struggles with severe lymphoedema that leaves her legs massively swollen and makes walking difficult. Elsewhere, 19-year-old Chloe faces an itchy skin condition that threatens her dream of becoming a hairdresser, while Stuart urgently seeks help for a severely swollen nose that affects his breathing.
Airs: Friday, 24 April at 21:00 KSA. TLC is available via OSNtv channel no. 26, stc tv channel no. 52 and TV by e& channel no. 421.
HGTV
Neighborhood Watch
Doorbell cameras, security cameras, and even cameras on baby monitors, more and more households are recording what happens around them. And that often leads to hilarious footage. In the new series Neighborhood Watch, we see the funniest moments that were accidentally captured on camera, from a woman being dragged along by her runaway dog to someone sleepwalking down the street, and a man crashing through his own ceiling during renovations.
Doorbell cameras also capture plenty of harmless mishaps, including minor vehicle bumps and residents stumbling home a little too tipsy. Alongside these are many other surprising incidents we would never have witnessed if they hadn’t been recorded by chance.
Airs: Monday, 20 April at 22:00 KSA. HGTV is available via BeIN channel no. 260, stc tv channel no. 65 and TV by e& channel no. 410.
