Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 15 May 2025: A top event for the summer calendar, and an opportunity for GCC travellers to get on board with women sporting legends, Geneva is preparing for a double offensive! Two major initiatives for women and sport, supported by public authorities: UEFA Women's EURO 2025 in Geneva, which will take place in July, and the #ChangeonsLaDonne campaign, which aims to achieve 40% representation of women in sports committees by 2026, as to be hosted by the city this summer.
With nearly 100,000 spectators expected, Geneva is positioning itself as a pillar of UEFA Women's EURO 2025. As part of this event, the Stade de Genève Foundation has launched a major renovation program, funded by the canton. A budget of CHF 4.1 million will be invested to modernize the infrastructure, not only to meet the high standards of the competition but also to create a welcoming environment for the public.
The City of Geneva is creating a Sports Village on Quai Gustave Ador, through which they’ll organize sports demonstrations, introductions, and meet-and-greets with athletes to promote women's sports and inspire vocations among younger generations by giving visibility to the champions. Located on Quai Général-Guisan near the Sports Village, a Fan Zone will also welcome the public, who will enjoy free access, from July 2 to 27, 2025, to live broadcasts of matches and entertainment, as well as a catering area, providing plenty of opportunities for things to do and see.
Concrete actions for youth, women, and the Geneva population
The partnership between the WEURO Geneva 2025 Association, which coordinates the event, and the AGS embodies a shared vision: to make this major tournament a catalyst with a lasting impact that goes beyond the field, redefining the standards of women's sport, both athletically and socially.
Aside from the footy action, visitors can also avail of activities that continuously take place around Lake Geneva, through water sports, a panoramic view of the Jet d’Eau, or a trip onboard the Belle Epoque steamboat for a more traditional sojourn on the lake.
If you prefer dry land, the city’ parks; nestled on the lakeside offer a lovely cool break on hot summer days. Between the lake and the mountains, stroll through the incredible Botanical Garden and then lie down on the grass in the Parc de la Perle du Lac for a relaxing moment by the water. Admire the splendid view of the harbour from the Parc la Grange while enjoying an ice cream before heading to one of the chocolate factories for a tasting experience, a stroll around one of the city’s museums, or taking up a guided tour to truly get behind the history of Geneva. دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 15 مايو 2025: هذا الصيف، تفتح مدينة جنيف أبوابها لفعاليّتين كبيرتين تحتفلان بالمرأة والرياضة بدعمٍ من الجهات الرسمية، ما يجعلها وجهة مثالية للمسافرين من دول الخليج لتشجيع نجمات الرياضة العالميات. ففي يوليو، تستضيف المدينة بطولة أمم أوروبا للسيدات 2025 من تنظيم الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم، لتتحوّل إلى محط أنظار عشّاق الرياضة من مختلف أنحاء العالم. ولا تتوقّف الأجواء الحماسية هنا، إذ تطلق جنيف أيضاً حملة #ChangeonsLaDonne، وهي مبادرة طموحة تسعى إلى رفع نسبة تمثيل النساء في لجان الرياضة إلى 40% بحلول عام 2026.
مع اقتراب بطولة أمم أوروبا للسيدات 2025، تستعدّ جنيف لاستقبال نحو 100,000 متفرّج، مؤكّدة بذلك مكانتها البارزة كإحدى ركائز هذا الحدث الرياضي الكبير. وفي إطار الاستعدادات، أطلقت مؤسّسة ملعب جنيف مشروع تجديد واسع النطاق بتمويل من كانتون جنيف، يشمل استثماراً بقيمة 4.1 مليون فرنك سويسري لتحديث البنية التحتيّة. ويهدف المشروع إلى تلبية أعلى المعايير المطلوبة للبطولة، مع الحرص في الوقت نفسه على تقديم تجربة مريحة ومرحّبة لجميع الزوّار.
تستعدّ جنيف لإضفاء طابع مميز على أجواء البطولة من خلال إنشاء "قرية رياضية" على رصيف غوستاف أدور، حيث تنتظر الزوّار عروض رياضية حيّة، ولقاءات ملهمة مع بطلات الرياضة، وتجارب تفاعلية تشجّع الفتيات على دخول عالم الرياضة. وعلى بُعد خطوات، تُفتتح "منطقة المشجّعين" في رصيف الجنرال غيزان من 2 إلى 27 يوليو 2025، لتتحوّل إلى نقطة التقاء للجمهور مع دخول مجاني لمتابعة المباريات على شاشات ضخمة، وسط أجواء ترفيهية مفعمة بالحماس، ومنطقة طعام تناسب جميع الأذواق.
مبادرات حقيقية لدعم الشباب والنساء وسكّان جنيف
تتعاون جمعية جنيف لبطولة أمم أوروبا للسيدات 2025 (WEURO Geneva 2025) التي تتولّى تنسيق الفعالية مع جمعية جنيف للرياضة (AGS) لتحقيق هدف مشترك: تحويل هذه البطولة إلى محطة فارقة في مسيرة الرياضة النسائية، تتجاوز حدود الملاعب لتُحدث تأثيراً إيجابياً يدوم في المجتمع. إنها دعوة لإعادة النظر في دور المرأة في الرياضة، والاحتفاء بقوّتها وتأثيرها في جميع المجالات.
بعيداً عن أجواء المباريات، تدعو جنيف زوّارها لاختبار لحظات ساحرة حول ضفاف بحيرتها الخلّابة، من الرياضات المائية المشوّقة والإطلالات الآسرة على نافورة "جيت دو"، إلى الرحلات الهادئة على متن باخرة "بيل إبوك" الكلاسيكية التي تنقلك إلى أجواء الزمن الجميل.
