Siemens has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Authority for Industrial Development, marking a major step towards advancing localized manufacturing of low and medium voltage products. This strategic agreement aims to elevate Egypt’s industrial capabilities and strengthen its position as a key player in the Middle East and Africa's industrial landscape.
The MoU was signed by Mostafa El-Bagoury, CEO of Siemens Egypt, and Dr. Nahed Youssef Chairwoman of the Industrial Development Authority and witnessed by Stephan May, CEO of Electrification and Automation, Siemens AG, and Andreas Matthe, CEO of Electrical Products, Siemens AG. His Excellency Lieutenant General Kamel Al Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, attended the signing on behalf of the Egyptian government, underscoring the government's commitment to fostering industrial growth and technological innovation.
Based on the previous collaboration, this new MoU builds on the foundation established in 2021, when Siemens, Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), and the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) partnered to launch Egypt’s first Industry 4.0 Innovation Center (IIC) in the Knowledge City at the New Administrative Capital. The new agreement strengthens this ongoing collaboration by enhancing Siemens' role in promoting the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies and expanding its local presence in Egypt. Through this partnership, Siemens will continue to advance innovation in the domestic manufacturing sector by manufacturing and assembling electrical products and systems locally, further supporting the government’s vision of a self-sufficient, industrialized economy and driving progress in smart factories and advanced manufacturing solutions.
Commenting on the partnership, Mostafa El-Bagoury stated, "This agreement reaffirms Siemens’ commitment to Egypt’s industrial development. By localizing the production of low and medium voltage products, we are investing in the future of Egypt, transferring knowledge, and advancing the country's position as an industrial leader in the region. The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Lieutenant Kamel Al Wazir confirmed that the signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to localize various industries in Egypt, and is considered an important step to develop and localize the manufacturing of low- and medium-voltage electrical products and systems - which include medium-voltage electrical panels, electrical distribution panels, and low-voltage circuit breakers - pointing out that this agreement contributes to raising Egypt’s industrial capabilities in this field within the framework of the plan to transform Egypt into a regional center for industry and manufacturing in the Middle East and Africa.

القاهرة في 30 أغسطس 2024-وقعت سيمنس مذكرة تفاهم مع الهيئة العامة للتنمية الصناعية، في خطوة هامة لتطوير التصنيع المحلي للمكونات والمنتجات الكهربائية ذات الجهد المنخفض والمتوسط في مصر. يهدف هذا الاتفاق الاستراتيجي لرفع القدرات الصناعية في مصر وتعزيز مكانتها كمركز إقليمي للصناعة والتصنيع في الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا.
وقع على مذكرة التفاهم كل من السيد/مصطفى الباجوري، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة سيمنس مصر، والدكتورة/ناهد يوسف، رئيس هيئة التنمية الصناعية. شهد مراسم التوقيع السيد/ستيفان ماي، الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع الحلول الكهربائية والتحول الآلي في سيمنسAG، والسيد/أندرياس ماتيه، الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع المنتجات الكهربائية في سيمنس .AG كما حضر معالي الفريق/ كامل الوزير، نائب رئيس الوزراء للتنمية الصناعية ووزير النقل والصناعة ممثلاً للحكومة المصرية، مؤكدا لالتزام الحكومة بدعم النمو الصناعي والابتكار التكنولوجي في البلاد.
يأتي التوقيع على مذكرة التفاهم الأخيرة استنادًا للتعاون السابق بين الطرفين، والأسس التي تم وضعها عام 2021، حينما تعاونت سيمنس مع هيئة تنمية صناعة تكنولوجيا المعلومات (ITIDA) ومركز تحديث الصناعة (IMC) في إطلاق أول مركز للجيل الرابع للابتكار الصناعي 4.0 في مصر بمدينة المعرفة بالعاصمة الإدارية الجديدة. لذا يأتي هذا الاتفاق الجديد تعزيزًا لهذا التعاون المستمر، عن طريق تفعيل دور سيمنس في نشر تكنولوجيا الجيل الرابع للثورة الصناعية (4IR) وترسيخ تواجد الشركة في مصر. ومن خلال هذه الشراكة، ستواصل سيمنس دفع مسيرة الابتكار لقطاع الصناعة المحلية عبر تصنيع وتجميع المنتجات والنظم الكهربائية محليًا، مما يدعم رؤية الحكومة في بناء قطاع صناعي محلي يتمتع بالاكتفاء الذاتي، ويعمل على تطوير المصانع الذكية وحلول التصنيع المتقدمة.
وبعد التوقيع على مذكرة التفاهم، علق السيد/مصطفى الباجوري، الرئيس التنفيذي لسيمنس مصر قائلاً: "تؤكد هذه الاتفاقية على التزام سيمنس بتطوير القطاع الصناعي في مصر. فمن خلال توطين تصنيع المنتجات الكهربائية ذات الجهد المنخفض والمتوسط في السوق المصري، فإنّنا نستثمر في تطوير مستقبل الصناعة المصرية ونعمل على نقل المعرفة، كما نعزز مكانة البلاد باعتبارها مركزًا إقليميًا للصناعة في المنطقة. إن تعاوننا مع الهيئة العامة للتنمية الصناعية يمثل نقلة نوعية لتحقيق النمو المستدام والتقدم التكنولوجي في مصر."
أضاف السيد/ستيفان ماي، الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع الحلول الكهربائية والتحول الآلي في سيمنسAG: "تشكل مذكرة التفاهم الأخيرة مع الحكومة المصرية فصلًا هامًا لشراكتنا مع مصر، كما تأتي في إطار جهودنا المشتركة لتوطين التكنولوجيا المتطورة ودفع الابتكار الصناعي في البلاد. إنّ دمج خبرة سيمنس الواسعة في الحلول الكهربائية والتحول الآلي مع الأهداف الاستراتيجية لمصر، سيتيح للصناعة المحلية تبني حلول أكثر كفاءة واستدامة، مما يساهم بشكل رئيسي في شغل مصر لمكانة إقليمية هامة في التنمية والتطور الصناعي."
ومن جانبه، صرح السيد/أندرياس ماتيه، الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع المنتجات الكهربائية في سيمنس AG، قائلاً: "تفخر سيمنس بدورها في دعم مسيرة مصر التحويلية لكي تصبح مركزًا إقليميًا للتصنيع المتقدم والابتكار. فمن خلال هذه الشراكة في تصنيع منتجات الجهد المنخفض والمتوسط، ستقدم سيمنس منتجات وحلول كهربائية بمعايير عالمية للسوق المحلي، مما يعزز القدرة التنافسية لمصر، ويتيح لها مواجهة التحديات الصناعية المستقبلية بكل ثقة وكفاءة."
كما أكد الفريق/كامل الوزير، نائب رئيس الوزراء للتنمية الصناعية ووزير الصناعة والنقل، أن التوقيع على هذه المذكرة الهامة يأتي في إطار حرص وزارة الصناعة على توطين مختلف الصناعات في مصر، كما نعتبر المذكرة خطوة محورية لتطوير وتوطين تصنيع المنتجات والأنظمة الكهربائية ذات الجهد المنخفض والمتوسط، والتي تشمل اللوحات الكهربائية متوسطة الجهد، ولوحات التوزيع الكهربائي، وقواطع الدوائر الكهربائية منخفضة الجهد، مشيراً إلى أن هذا الاتفاق سيساهم في رفع القدرات الصناعية لمصر في هذا المجال في إطار خطة استراتيجية لتحويل مصر إلى مركز إقليمي للصناعة والتصنيع بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا.
