Fly like a bird with Italian performer Daniela Caputo
From now until April 22, Italian performer and dancer Daniela Caputo is offering guests personal one-on-one classes in aerial yoga, aerial dance, flexibility yoga and ballet barre at Velaa Private Island’s Wellness Village. With years of teaching experience, Daniela has performed around the world with famous singers and artists, often appearing on TV shows. She loves nothing more than to share her skills and teach people new movements, while improving their fitness and stamina. Daniela will be available at the resort’s new yoga and pilates pavilion, designed to guide guests through transformative poses.
Ballet on the beach with Julian Mackay
For one night only on April 28, American dancer Julian Mackay makes a triumphant return to Velaa for a captivating performance of ‘Heaven on Earth’. Julian has assembled some of his dear friends, including world-famous dancers from the Royal Opera House, HET National, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Bayerisches Staatsballett, to present selections from Don Quixote, Spartacus, Swan Lake, and other iconic works over eight performances.
As the sun sets, the magic begins, as Julian and his handpicked cast perform classical ballet favourites on an open-air stage overlooking the ocean. Pure gold portraits by Ben Mosley
From May 1 to 5, one of Britain’s most respected artists, Ben Mosley, will be visiting the island for private portrait painting sessions with our guests. No ordinary portraits, the renowned expressionist is known for his elaborate use of 24k gold and precious metals, all of which he will be bringing to the island to create his one-of-a-kind paintings – the ultimate keepsake of your island holiday.
Influenced by Picasso and Matisse, Ben is the official artist for Team GB for Paris in 2024. Admirers of his work include Frank Lampard, Ed Sheeran, Alan Shearer, Mike and Zara Tindall, Sir Alex Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, Jose Mourinho and Hollywood director Jerry Weintraub.
