Abu Dhabi, UAE – 16 February 2023: His Excellency Yousuf Ali, Second Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), reaffirmed the solid relations between the UAE and India, saying: “The UAE and India share a long history of strong relations, which laid the ground for signing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) last year. One of the key objectives of the CEPA is to increase trade exchange by 120% from USD 45 billion to USD 100 billion over the next five years.”
This came as part of a meeting that was organised by the Abu Dhabi Chamber at its headquarters, where the Chamber welcomed a high-level delegation from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The meeting was attended by members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s Board of Directors, including: Masood Rahma Al Masaood Al Mehairbi, Treasurer; Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, Vice-Treasurer, and Nour Al Tamimi, Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Business Women Council.
The Indian delegation, headed by Dr. Gunveena Chadha Assistant Secretary General of the FICCI, included high-level representatives from the FICCI, as well as representatives of more than 30 private companies across a wide range of industries, which include Agriculture, Chemical, Electrical Equipment, Textile, Pharmaceuticals, Food and Beverages, Sports Equipment, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and more.
His Excellency Yousuf Ali, Second Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said: “We are proud of our economic relations with India which centre on mutual respect, friendship and cooperation. We have worked together on several projects and have signed different agreements to strengthen cooperation in vital industries, including manufacturing, SMEs, energy, IT, digitization, logistics, and financial services industries, among others. Our trade history with India confirms the importance of our partnership, especially that India is the UAE's number one trading partner in terms of non-oil exports, accounting for 14% of our total global exports. In 2021 alone, non-oil trade exchange between the two countries amounted to USD 45 billion.”
His Excellency added: “We would like to assure you that the Abu Dhabi Chamber is always ready to provide Indian companies with all the support they need to make their business a success. This, of course, comes within the Chamber’s newly announced strategy of playing the role of a policy advocator, a networker and service provider to its member companies.”
Dr. Gunveena Chadha Assistant Secretary General of the FICCI, said: “The meeting today, organized by the Abu Dhabi Chamber, serves as an ideal platform for connecting companies in Abu Dhabi and India and uncovering investment opportunities for the benefit of the two countries. We are keen to drive investment, and take part in different projects and agreements, as per the UAE-India CEPA, which marks the beginning of a new era of success for the two countries. I would like to express my appreciation of the active role that the Abu Dhabi Chamber is playing in attracting, supporting and advancing businesses.”
The meeting comes following the Abu Dhabi Chamber’s launch of its new 3-year strategy spanning from 2023 to 2025, which centres on serving the Abu Dhabi Economy and solidifying its position as the “Voice of the Private Sector”. In line with its new strategy, the Abu Dhabi Chamber aims to empower the private sector in Abu Dhabi and enhance its competitiveness, making Abu Dhabi the first choice in the MENA region for doing business by 2025.

غرفة أبوظبي تبحث تعزيز التعاون التجاري مع اتحاد غرف التجارة والصناعة الهندية
أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 16 فبراير 2023: أكَّد يوسف علي موسليام، النائب الثاني لرئيس مجلس إدارة غرفة تجارة وصناعة أبوظبي على متانة العلاقات الإماراتية الهندية على مختلف المستويات؛ والتي نتج عنها توقيع اتفاقية الشراكة الاقتصادية الشاملة خلال العام الماضي، وكان من أهم مستهدفاتها زيادة حجم التبادل التجاري بنسبة 120% من 45 مليار دولار إلى 100 مليار دولار خلال السنوات الخمس القادمة.
جاء ذلك خلال اجتماع الأعمال الذي نظّمته غرفة أبوظبي في مقرها، مع وفد الأعمال من اتحاد غرف التجارة والصناعة الهندية، بحضور أعضاء مجلس إدارة غرفة أبوظبي كل من مسعود رحمة المحيربي أمين الصندوق، وسعيد غمران الرميثي نائب أمينِ الصندوق، ونور التميمي عضو الهيئة التنفيذية لمجلس سيدات أعمال أبوظبي.
ومن الجانب الهندي ترأست دكتورة جافينا شادها مساعد أمين عام اتحاد غرف التجارة والصناعة الهندية الوفد الهندي التجاري الذي زاد عدده عن 30 شركة تجارية، تمثل الشركات الخاصة العاملة في قطاعات الزراعة، والكيماويات، والمعدات الكهربائية، والأقمشة، والأدوية، والأغذية والمشروبات، والمعدات الرياضية والمواد الاستهلاكية وغيرها، إلى جانب حضور ومشاركة عدد من رجال الأعمال والمستثمرين وممثلي الشركات والمؤسسات في إمارة أبوظبي والهند.
ولفت النائب الثاني لرئيس الغرفة إلى أن الشراكة الاقتصادية الإماراتية الهندية تمثل نموذجاً مهماً في خريطة العلاقات الاقتصادية الدولية لدولة الإمارات القائمة على الصداقة والاحترام والتعاون، وترتكز إلى العديد من المشاريع والاتفاقيات الرامية لتعزيز التعاون في مختلف القطاعات الاستثمارية الحيوية وذات القيمة المضافة. مؤكداً بأن أرقام التبادل التجاري بين البلدين تؤكد أهمية الشراكة القائمة وآفاقها المستقبلية الواعدة، حيث تعتبر الهند الشريك التجاري الأول لدولة الإمارات من حيث الصادرات غير النفطية، وتمثل 14٪ من إجمالي الصادرات على مستوى العالم. وفي العام 2021 وحده، وصل إجمالي حجم التبادل التجاري غير النفطي بين البلدين إلى 45 مليار دولار".
استراتيجية غرفة أبوظبي
وشدد يوسف علي خلال كلمته على استعداد غرفة أبوظبي التام والمتواصل لتقديم الدعم للشركات الهندية لتمكينها من تحقيق النجاح في بيئة الأعمال بإمارة أبوظبي، بما ينسجم واستراتيجية الغرفة الجديدة التي تم الإعلان عنها مؤخراً والتي ستقوم الغرفة بموجبها بلعب دور محوري في دعم السياسات التجارية، وتعزيز العلاقات التجارية وتقديم الخدمات لأعضائها من الشركات المحلية والأجنبية القائمة أو الراغبة بتأسيس أعمالها في إمارة أبوظبي.
من جهتها، أكدت دكتورة جافينا شادها مساعد أمين عام اتحاد غرف التجارة والصناعة الهندية على أهمية اجتماع الأعمال الذي اهتمت غرفة أبوظبي بتنظيمه، لما به من فرص مهمة تتيح مجالات التعارف بين ممثلي الشركات التجارية لدى الجانبين في أبوظبي والهند، واكتشاف مناخات الاستثمار المتوفرة، والتي تحقق العائد المرجو والمنفعة المشتركة للجميع، لاسيما وأن مجال الاستثمار وعقد المشاريع والشراكات ستكون ضمن إطار بنود الشراكة الاقتصادية الشاملة بين دولة الإمارات وجمهورية الهند، التي شكلت بداية حقبة جديدة لمزيد من التقدم والازدهار لشعبي البلدين الصديقين. معربةً عن تقديرها للدور الفاعل لغرفة أبوظبي وما تقدمه من إسهامات بارزة في سبيل جذب الأعمال ودعمها والارتقاء بها.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن اجتماع الأعمال يأتي بعد إطلاق غرفة أبوظبي استراتيجيتها الجديدة للسنوات الثلاث القادمة والتي تضمن لها لعب دور فاعل في دفع عجلة نمو اقتصاد أبوظبي وتجسيد مكانتها كصوت القطاع الخاص. وتماشياً وأهداف استراتيجيتها الجديدة، تستهدف الغرفة تمكين القطاع الخاص في أبوظبي وتعزيز تنافسيته وجعل الإمارة الخيار الأول لممارسة الأعمال في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا بحلول العام 2025.
