New ways of learning, new ways of connecting
4 October 2022 - At the start of the pandemic, British Council Teaching Centres in Country sought new ways to ensure the learning offer appealed to our young students. By September 2022, more than 15,00 students in 3500 classes from 20 countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Qatar, UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabi, Bahrain, Kuwait linked up to provide an incredible intercultural experience.
Connecting Cultures brings together British Council students from around the world, so they can enjoy a truly international experience without travelling abroad. As from October this year we are planning to involve more than 30,000 students in more than 40 countries. .
Speaking about this experience, Hamish Buchan, Regional Head of Young Learners at the British Council says:” An initiative that promotes an educational and social experience, combining multiculturalism, English and key skills for the future. We have been using our teachers, in our global network of teaching centres, to our advantage by connecting students in different countries through online activities, including video links.”

Every lesson is brought to life with engaging activities based on real-world topics, capturing the children’s attention and helping them speak English with confidence, the perfect preparation for their future in a globalized world.
“The interest the students showed and how they related in an amazing way with other students. They couldn’t wait to hear from their connecting cultures partners and made a huge effort to do a wonderful exchange. Simply a wonderful experience for the students. I don’t think they’ll ever forget it.” Says one of our teachers.

في 4 أكتوبر 2022 - في بداية الجائحة، سعت مراكز التدريس التابعة للمجلس الثقافي البريطاني المتواجدة بالبلاد إلى ابتكار طرق جديدة لضمان عرض تعليمي جذاب لطلابنا الشباب. بحلول شتنبر 2022، ارتبط أكثر من 1500 طالب في 3500 فصل من 20 دولة بما فيها المغرب وتونس والجزائر ومصر وقطر والإمارات العربية المتحدة والأردن والسعودية والبحرين والكويت لتقديم تجربة رائعة للربط بين الثقافات.
يجمع " ربط الثقافات / Connecting Cultures " طلاب المجلس الثقافي البريطاني من جميع أنحاء العالم، حتى يتمكنوا من الاستمتاع بتجربة دولية حقيقية دون السفر إلى الخارج. اعتبارًا من أكتوبر من هذا العام، نخطط لإشراك أكثر من 30.000 طالب في أكثر من 40 دولة.
يعد هذا البرنامج الآن أحد أكثر الإضافات إثارة لدينا على مستوى حصص ودروس المتعلمين الشباب. يتيح لطلابنا فرصة لقاء نظرائهم من بلدان أخرى حول العالم لتبادل الخبرات والعمل معًا في إطار مشاريع متنوعة. إنه صلة ربط دولي حقيقي!
وفي حديثه عن هذه التجربة، يقول السيد هاميش بوشان، الرئيس الإقليمي للمتعلمين الشباب بالمجلس الثقافي البريطاني: "مبادرة تروج لتجربة تعليمية واجتماعية، تجمع بين التعددية الثقافية واللغة الإنجليزية والمهارات الرئيسية للمستقبل. لقد استعنا بخدمات أساتذة شبكتنا العالمية لمراكز التدريس لصالحنا، عن طريق ربط الطلاب في البلدان المختلفة من خلال الأنشطة عبر الإنترنت، بما في ذلك روابط الفيديو. "
"إن مشاركة تقاليد وأفكار تجاربنا مع طلاب آخرين من بلدان أخرى فضلا عن تلقي ردود جميلة منهم، كان مثيرًا للغاية " يقول غسان، أحد طلابنا الشباب.
يتم إحياء كل درس من خلال الأنشطة الجذابة القائمة على مواضيع العالم الحقيقي، وجذب انتباه الأطفال ومساعدتهم على التحدث باللغة الإنجليزية بكل ثقة في النفس، والاستعداد المثالي لمستقبلهم في عالم يتسم بالعولمة.
"الاهتمام الذي أظهره الطلاب وكيف ارتبطوا بطريقة مذهلة بالطلاب الآخرين، حيث لم يقدروا حتى على الانتظار لسماع شركائهم في الثقافات المتصلة وبذلوا جهدًا كبيرًا لإجراء تبادل رائع فيما بينهم. إنها ببساطة تجربة رائعة للطلاب، لا أعتقد أنهم سينسون ذلك أبدًا." تقول إحدى مدرساتنا.
"إنها طريقة وممتعة لطلابنا لتحسين لغتهم الإنجليزية ومعرفتهم بالعالم، وقبل كل شيء، استيعابهم المتعدد الثقافات. الطلاب يحبونه. والآباء يحبونه. و المدرسون كذلك بدورهم. "
