3-day virtual conference entitled ‘Shaping the Energy of Tomorrow’
Attracted significant, high-level speaker participation

Siemens Energy & partners are holding a major Middle East and Africa-focused virtual conference, entitled ‘Shaping the Energy of Tomorrow’, from October 19 – 21, 2020, to drive forward the sustainability and decarbonization agenda at a defining moment in the energy industry.
With the long-term impacts of Covid-19 and a fundamental shift in energy markets still being realized, now is the moment for the energy industry to collaborate to realize a future that is sustainable, efficient, affordable and accessible, in line with the ideals laid out by UN Sustainable Goal 7.
The MEA Energy Week conference is being held in partnership with the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK); the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa); the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS); and Masdar, a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable urban development, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi government’s Mubadala Investment Company.
The world-class speaker line-up currently features numerous regional ministers, CEOs, energy and finance industry leaders and Siemens Energy experts for the eight panel sessions.
To date, ministers from Benin, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria and the UAE will participate in the conference. Senior executives from Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company, ADNOC, Crescent Petroleum, DEWA, Euler Hermes, Masdar, Mubadala and Saudi Aramco have also confirmed their participation.
The panelists will address the numerous challenges and opportunities that the energy industry faces amid the twin goals of improving access to energy and meeting growing demand on the one hand, while also doing so in an environmentally and financially sustainable manner. Topics such as financing sustainable energy projects, integrating renewables into grids, incorporating digitalization and automaton, decarbonizing hydrocarbon intensive industries, and utilizing green hydrogen, will be at the forefront of panel discussions.
The launch of this important and timely event comes shortly after the listing of Siemens Energy on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on September 28, following a spin-off from Siemens AG. An estimated one-sixth of the world's power generation is already based on technologies from Siemens Energy. With this important legacy comes significant responsibility; to help shape the direction of the future of energy sector, with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and decarbonization, for the benefit of society.

يتحدث في المؤتمر الافتراضي عددٌ من كبار خبراء الطاقة والشخصيات الرئيسية في منظومة الطاقة بالمنطقة

تعقد سيمنس للطاقة مؤتمر افتراضي للطاقة يركز على قضايا ومشكلات القطاع في الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا تحت عنوان "رسم مستقبل الطاقة" وذلك في الفترة من 19 إلى 21 أكتوبر 2020. يقام المؤتمر الافتراضي في فترة هامة يمر بها قطاع الطاقة العالمي وسط احتياج دولي غير مسبوق لطاقة بدون انبعاثات كربونية.
يقام المؤتمر بالتعاون مع جمعية غرف الصناعة والتجارة الألمانية (DIHK) وغرفة التجارة والصناعة العربية الألمانية "غرفة"، والقمة العالمية للصناعة والتصنيع (GMIS)، وشركة أبوظبي لطاقة المستقبل "مصدر"، إحدى الشركات العالمية الرائدة في مجال الطاقة المتجددة والتطوير العمراني المستدام والمملوكة بالكامل لشركة مبادلة للاستثمار، وهي شركة استثمارية تساهم في تحقيق استراتيجية حكومة أبوظبي.
تضم مجموعة المتحدثين رفيعي المستوى العديد من الوزراء والرؤساء التنفيذيين ورواد قطاعي الطاقة والمالية وخبراء من شركة سيمنس للطاقة في جلسات النقاش الثمانية. يشارك في المؤتمر إلى الآن وزراء من دول بنين والعراق والأردن والمغرب ونيجيريا والإمارات. كما أكد كبار المسؤولين التنفيذيين في عدد من الشركات على مشاركتهم، بما في ذلك شركة أبو ظبي للنقل والتحكم، وأدنوك، ونفط الهلال، وهيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي، ويولر هيرميس، ومصدر، ومبادلة، وأرامكو السعودية.
سيتناول أعضاء اللجنة الفرص والتحديات العديدة التي يواجهها قطاع الطاقة في ظل هدفين مُقترنين يتمثلان في تعزيز سهولة الحصول على الطاقة وتلبية الطلب المتزايد من ناحية، مع القيام بذلك أيضًا بطريقة مستدامة على الصعيدين البيئي والمالي. وستتصدر حلقات النقاش عدد من الموضوعات مثل تمويل مشروعات الطاقة المستدامة، ودمج مصادر الطاقة المتجددة في الشبكات، ودمج التحول الرقمي والتشغيل الآلي، وإزالة الكربون من الصناعات كثيفة الهيدروكربونات، واستخدام الهيدروجين الأخضر.
يأتي إطلاق هذا الحدث الهام والذي يأتي في وقته بعد فترة وجيزة من إدراج شركة سيمنس للطاقة في بورصة فرانكفورت للأوراق المالية في 28 سبتمبر، وذلك بعد انفصالها عن شركة سيمنس AG. تجدر الإشارة أنّ حوالي سُدس قدرات توليد الطاقة في العالم تعتمد بالفعل على تقنيات شركة سيمنس للطاقة وهو ما يُعد مسؤولية كبيرة؛ للمساعدة في تشكيل مستقبل قطاع الطاقة، مع التركيز على الاستدامة والابتكار والتخلص من الانبعاثات الكربونية لصالح المجتمع.
يضيف الدكتور/فولكر تراير، الرئيس التنفيذي للتجارة الخارجية وعضو مجلس الإدارة التنفيذي لجمعية غرف الصناعة والتجارة الألمانية (DIHK): "يُعد المؤتمر الافتراضي "رسم مستقبل الطاقة" من المبادرات الهامة التي تمثل منصة متميزة لمناقشة أهم التحديات الاقتصادية التي تواجه قطاع الطاقة الآن وفي المستقبل. يشارك في المؤتمر عددٌ من رواد قطاع الطاقة وصنّاع القرار في وقت يشهد تغيرات حاسمة وحادة لقطاع الطاقة الإقليمي والعالمي".
أما السيد/ عبد العزيز المخلافي، الأمين العام لغرفة التجارة والصناعة العربية الألمانية فأضاف: "إن هدفنا الأساسي بالتعاون مع سيمنس للطاقة وصناع القرار في العالم العربي، وخبراء الطاقة المشاركون في هذا المؤتمر، يتمثل في خلق المزيد من التعاون والذي من شأنه تسريع خطى تحول قطاع الطاقة نحو مستقبل أكثر استدامة عن طريق تنفيذ خطط عمل طموحة والاعتماد على التكنولوجيا الحديثة والمزيد من الابتكارات. إن الطريق نحو تحول قطاع الطاقة يكمُن في تبني الحوار ومواجهة التحديات لضمان تحقيق تحول مُستدام ودعم تعافي الاقتصاد العالمي بعد جائحة فيروس كورونا".
ومن جانبه، يوضح السيد/ بدر العلماء، رئيس اللجنة التنظيمية للقمة العالمية للصناعة و التصنيع: "يجب علينا الاستمرار في توجيه جهودنا لتغيير أنماطنا حياتنا لكي نتغلب على التحديات العالمية التي تواجهها الإنسانية اليوم ومن بينها التغير المناخي؛ وهو ما يعني ضرورة تحويل النقاشات إلي أفعال. إن هذا بالضبط ما تم تحقيقه بالفعل من خلال المبادرة العالمية التي قمنا بإطلاقها مؤخراً تحت أسم "السلاسل الخضراء" والتي تهدف للحد من الانبعاثات الكربونية في القطاع الصناعي والاستفادة من تقنيّات الثورة الصناعية الرابعة لتحقيق لنفع العالم والإسراع بمعدلات استخدام الطاقة النظيفة، فضلاً عن تعزيز مفهوم المسئولية المجتمعية التي تتخطي أي حواجز".
ويختتم محمد جميل الرمحي، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة أبوظبي لطاقة المستقبل "مصدر" قائلاً: "إن من أهم الدروس المستفادة خلال عام 2020 هو ضرورة الاستعداد من اليوم من أجل بناء مستقبل أكثر استدامة، حيث يجب أن نعمل معاً من أجل تحقيق التحول نحو الاعتماد على الطاقة النظيفة. ويكتسب "مؤتمر رسم مستقبل الطاقة" أهمية بالنسبة لنا في "مصدر" كونه ينسجم مع أهدافنا المتمثلة في ضرورة تسريع وتيرة تطوير حلول مجدية لدعم جهود التنمية المستدامة. ونحن نتطلع للتعاون مع سيمنس للطاقة والشركاء الآخرين خلال هذه الأوقات الاستثنائية التي يمر به قطاع الطاقة.
