Cairo, Egypt 10 September, 2019 – Mercedes-Benz Egypt has selected its manufacturing partner for local assembly of Passenger Cars. This was decided after signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Mercedes-Benz Cars and the Egyptian government, namely H.E. Amr Nassar, Minister of Trade and Industry, in attendance of H.E. Mostafa Madbouly, Egyptian Prime Minister in June in Sindelfingen, Germany. This new milestone is set to further improve the market position of Mercedes-Benz Cars in Egypt. The local assembly contract was awarded to Egyptian German Automotive Co. (EGA S.A.E.) after a thorough assessment and selection process of other local candidates, performed according to Mercedes-Benz standards and Production System requirements.
Adding to the brand’s pioneering market position, this new agreement will prove to be another valuable addition to the local Mercedes-Benz Cars product line up, further introducing SUV models that were not introduced before in Egypt. Mercedes-Benz Cars sees Egypt as an important market for passenger cars and commercial vehicles for many years. In the long term, Mercedes-Benz Cars will create various potential for the country and the region through strategic cooperation for different mobility topics.
Thomas Zorn, CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz Egypt highly appreciated the efforts undertaken by the Egyptian government and authorities towards supporting the national automotive industry to attract more foreign investments to the country.

The planned assembly process will further satisfy the local market demand, where Mercedes-Benz Egypt will focus on assembling SUVs, a very popular product segment within the local automotive sector. The setup of the local assembly process is planned to begin very soon and the first car is expected to roll off the assembly line in the 2nd half of 2020.
In view of the long-term market potential, further investments are also conceivable, for example expansion of our dealer network nationwide, a logistical hub in the Suez Canal Special Economic Zone and a training center.
With the planned car assembly operation in Egypt, Mercedes-Benz Cars is supporting Egypt as an industrial location. Already, Mercedes-Benz is securing more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in Egypt with its own import and sales organization, a central spare parts warehouse and numerous authorized retailers and workshops in Cairo, Gizeh, Alexandria and Hurghada.
مرسيدس-بنز تختار المُصنِّع المحلي لتجميع السيارات في مصر
القاهرة في 10 سبتمبر 2019-أعلنت مرسيدس-بنز إيجيبت عن اختيار المُصنّع المحلي لتجميع سيارات مرسيدس-بنز في السوق المصري. جاء قرار اختيار المُصنّع المحلي بعد التوقيع على مذكرة التفاهم التي تمت بين مرسيدس-بنز للسيارات والحكومة المصرية ممثلة في معالي المهندس/عمرو نصّار-وزير التجارة والصناعة بحضور معالي الدكتور/مصطفى مدبولي -رئيس الوزراء المصري بمدينة زيندلفينجن الألمانية في يونيو الماضي. ومن المتوقع أنّ تعمل تلك الخطوة المحورية على دعم مرسيدس-بنز للسيارات في السوق المصري، حيث تم أختيار الشركة المصرية الألمانية للسيارات (EGA) للحصول على عقد الشراكة للتجميع المحلي وذلك بعد قيام مرسيدس-بنز للسيارات بعملية تقييم شاملة واجراءات اختيار دقيقة بين كافة المرشحين المحليين طبقاً لأعلي المعايير والمتطلبات الإنتاجية الصارمة لمرسيدس-بنز للسيارات.
تمثل تلك الإتفاقية الجديدة إضافة هامة للمكانة الرائدة لعلامة مرسيدس-بنز التجارية وخطوط إنتاج مرسيدس-بنز لسيارات الركوب والتي ستقوم بتجميع طرازات مرسيدس-بنز من فئة الـSUV التي لم تطرح في السوق المصري من قبل. إنّ مرسيدس-بنز للسيارات تنظر للسوق المصري باعتباره سوقاً محورياً لسيارات الركوب والمركبات التجارية على مدار عقود عديدة. وعلى المدى الطويل، ستقدم مرسيدس-بنز امكانيات وقدرات جديدة للسوق المصري من خلال تعاونها الإستراتيجي في العديد من مجالات وحلول التنقل المختلفة.
هذا وقد عبّر السيد/توماس زورن-الرئيس التنفيذي لمرسيدس-بنز إيجيبت عن تقديره للمبادرات التي تتخذها الحكومة المصرية وهيئاتها التابعة لدعم صناعة السيارات المحلية وجذب المزيد من الاستثمارات الأجنبية المباشرة لهذا القطاع الحيوي.

وسيعمل التجميع المحلي لسيارات مرسيدس-بنز على تلبية احتياجات السوق المحلي الذي ستركز الشركة فيه على تجميع طرازات من فئة الـSUV التي تمثل واحدة من أكثر الفئات المفضلة في السوق المصري. في الوقت نفسه من المتوقع بدء الإعداد وتنفيذ الخطوات المطلوبة للتجميع المحلي في وقت قريب جدا، حيث من المنتظر إنتاج أول سيارة من خط التجميع خلال النصف الثاني من 2020.
وبالنظر للإمكانيات طويلة الأجل التي يتمتع بها السوق المصري، ستضخ مرسيدس-بنز استثمارات جديدة في قطاع السيارات، بما في ذلك على سبيل المثال التوسع في شبكة الوكلاء المعتمدين واقامة مركز لوجيستي اقليمي في المنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس، بالإضافة لمركز تدريب عالمي.
وتعمل مرسيدس-بنز للسيارات من خلال تشغيل خطوط التجميع المحلية المقرر اقامتها، على دعم مكانة مصر العالمية بحيث تصبح مركز تصنيع إقليمي هام للسيارات. وفي الوقت الحالي توفر مرسيدس-بنز فعلياً أكثر من 1000 فرصة عمل مباشرة وغير مباشرة في مصر، من خلال شركتها التابعة للاستيراد والتوزيع ومستودع قطع الغيار المركزي والعديد من تجار التجزئة والورش المعتمدة في كل من القاهرة والجيزة والإسكندرية والغردقة.
