Cairo, Egypt: The second edition of London Stock Exchange Group’s (LSEG) ‘Companies to Inspire Africa’ report was presented today at the British Embassy in Cairo, Egypt – hosted by the British Ambassador to Egypt, Sir Geoffrey Adams. The report identifies and celebrates growing and dynamic private businesses across Africa, with outstanding stories of innovation, growth and entrepreneurship. Businesses from Egypt in the report include ElFateh for Industries and Steel Constructions, Cairo 3A, Carbon Holdings Ltd, Fawry Egypt, Eagle Chemical Group Ltd, German Medical Healthcare, KarmSolar and Sambo Metals Company.
The event was attended by the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Egypt, the Rt. Hon. Sir Jeffrey Donaldson. A panel discussion on accessing private sector growth capital in Egypt was held by CDC Group’s Head of Africa Tenbite Ermias, Wuzzuf’s CEO Ameer Sherif, Carbon Holdings Chairman and CEO, Basil El-Baz, and Ezedehar’s Founder Emad Barsoum. The panel was moderated by Maged Ezzeldeen, Senior Partner, PWC.
The report highlights the featured companies to a global investor audience and can lead to further collaboration across borders with strategic partners, as well as create stronger value chains and help companies expand into new markets.

· 23% of companies are led by women, almost double the proportion in the 2017 report: standout sectors where senior female executives are having a big impact are Healthcare & Education and Financial Services, with 39% and 31% of companies led by female CEOs
· The fastest growing sectors are Financial Services and Renewable Energy with revenue growth rates of 70% and 66% respectively
· Consumer Services is the most represented sector with 79 companies from 20 countries, reflecting the growth of sub-sectors such as Consumer Goods, Food & Beverages, Leisure & Tourism, Media and Retail, and Africa’s growing middle class
· Agriculture remains an important sector for the continent with 53 companies, almost 15% of those featured
· The East-West African axis dominates this year’s report with 130 companies from Western Africa and 147 from Eastern Africa

القاهرة ، مصر: في حفل استضافه السفير البريطاني لدى مصر السير جيفري آدمز بمقر السفارة بالقاهرة، أطلقت اليوم النسخة الثانية من تقرير مجموعة بورصة لندن للأوراق المالية (LSEG) "شركات لإلهام أفريقيا 2019". التقرير يحدد ويحتفي بالأعمال الخاصة المتنامية والديناميكية في جميع أنحاء أفريقيا، مع قصص رائعة عن الابتكار والنمو وريادة الأعمال. وتشمل الأعمال الواردة من مصر في التقرير شركة "الفتح للصناعات والإنشاءات المعدنية"، و "كايرو ثرى ايه"، و"كاربون القابضة المحدودة"، و"فوري مصر"، و"مجموعة إيجل كيميكال المحدودة"، و"جيرمان ميديكال هيلثكير كوربوريشن"، و"كرم للطاقة الشمسية"، وشركة "سامبو للمعادن".
حضر الحفل المبعوث التجاري لرئيس وزراء المملكة المتحدة إلى مصر السير جيفري دونالدسون. كما عقدت حلقة نقاش حول تنمية رأس المال الخاص في مصر، تحدث فيها كل من رئيس الوحدة الأفريقية لمجموعة CDC تنبيت إرمياس، ورئيس مجلس إدارة "وظف" أمير شريف، رئيس مجلس إدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة "كاربون القابضة" باسل الباز، ومؤسس "إزدهار" عماد برسوم، وأدار الجلسة ماجد عز الدين، شريك أول لدى "بي دبليو سي".
ويسلط التقرير الضوء على الشركات المميزة أمام جمهور المستثمرين الدوليين، ويمكن أن يؤدي إلى مزيد من التعاون عبر الحدود مع الشركاء الإستراتيجيين، وكذلك إنشاء سلاسل قيمة أقوى ومساعدة الشركات على التوسع في أسواق جديدة.
وتعليقًا على التقرير، قال السفير البريطاني في مصر السير جيفري آدمز: "هذا التقرير يكشف عن إمكانات أفريقيا، ومع نمو استثنائي ومضاعفة مشاركة المرأة مقارنة بعام 2017، نرى اقتصاد أفريقيا يتطور بسرعة. نحن نؤمن بالتقدم الذي أحرزته أفريقيا، ولهذا السبب تلتزم المملكة المتحدة بأن تصبح المستثمر الأول من بين مجموعة السبع في هذه القارة".
وعلق السير جيفري دونالدسون، المبعوث التجاري لرئيس وزراء المملكة المتحدة إلى مصر، قائلاً: "يسعدني أن أعرض الدور الناجح للشركات الخاصة التي تدفع الاقتصاد إلى الأمام في مصر، وهي بوابة أفريقيا. وتلتزم المملكة المتحدة بمشاركة خبراتها مع أفريقيا لبناء رأس المال البشري لأفريقيا في القطاعات الإستراتيجية التي تعود بالنفع على شعوبها."

وأضاف قائلًا: "مع تخصيص 4.5 مليار دولار أمريكي للاستثمار في جميع أنحاء أفريقيا ما بين 2018 إلى 2021، نخطط لإقامة شراكة مع العديد من فرق الإدارة القوية للمساعدة في دفع النمو والازدهار من خلال أعمال ذات مسؤولية اجتماعية. وإنه لشرف كبير أن تعرض أكثر من 360 شركة ذات أداء عالٍ في نشرات "شركات لإلهام أفريقيا". ويقود هذه الشركات بعض من فرق الإدارة الأكثر ديناميكية في القارة والتي تحدد مستقبل صناعاتها."
