Cairo - November 29th, 2018 – Schneider Electric Egypt, under a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding with Egyptian NGO - Towa Association is inaugurating its Water of the Sun energy system at El Heiz village in Bahariya Oasis for two wells (Bir Sherif and Bir Ain Gomaa), which supplies sufficient water for irrigation with cleaner renewable energy source.
As part of Schneider Electric’s sustainable development and Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, the project was aimed to serve a main objective of providing the inhabitants of El-Heiz community with two solar powered wells to cultivate around 140 Feddans. Accordingly, this will help in reducing the company carbon foot print (CO2 emission) by almost 38 tons annually resulting from replacing the diesel-powered pumps.
“At Schneider Electric, we believe access to energy a basic human right. Having such a project is expected to provide a lifeline and a source of income for more than 30 families whose main source of income is cultivation. Subsequently, drawing investors’ interest to the area” – said Walid Sheta, Cluster President North East Africa & Levant.
Integrating Schneider Electric Ecostruxure solution, allows sustaining the performance through real time monitoring to electricity generation and water production.
In addition to the two Water of the Sun solutions, Schneider Electric has donated its cost-effective Altivar 312 Solar Speed Drive at the Water Desalination Plant in El-Heiz village. The speed drive is designed to help ensure sufficient and constant supply of drinking water to people with limited or no access to electrical grids. It also generates eight-fold increase in water supply to the area.

The project provides training for selected local inhabitants in El-Heiz on how to deal with these integrated solutions operation and troubleshooting.
The company placed a Demo-Kit for Water of the Sun solution at the Water Education center in El-Heiz to educate inhabitants on technical operation of the solutions.

القاهرة – 23 ديسمبر 2018، قامت شنايدر إلكتريك مصر، الشركة الرائدة عالمياً في إدارة الطاقة والتشغيل الآلي، بتركيب نظام لضخ المياه بالطاقة الشمسية في بئرين في قرية الحيز بالواحات البحرية، والذي يوفر مصدر نظيف للطاقة المتجددة ويوفر المياه الكافية لري الأراضي الزراعية في القرية.
وبموجب مذكرة التفاهم التي تم توقيعها مؤخرًا مع مؤسسة "طوه" وهي جمعية أهلية بالواحات البحرية التابعة لمحافظة الجيزة قامت شركة شنايدر إلكتريك بإحلال المضخة الحالية التي تعمل بالسولار بنظام يعمل بالطاقة الشمسية لتشغيل بئرين للمياه، وهما بئر شريف، وبئر عين جمعة.
ويهدف المشروع، الذي يعد جزءا من استراتيجية شنايدر إلكتريك للتنمية المستدامة التي تأتي في إطار المسؤولية الاجتماعية للشركة، أن يوفر ما يكفي من المياه لزراعة ما يقارب من 140 فدانا من الأراضي الزراعية وخدمة حوالي 28 عائلة من أهالي الحيز والتي تعد الزراعة بالنسبة لها هي المصدر الرئيسي للدخل. هذا بالإضافة إلى أن هذا المشروع سيحد من انبعاثات ثاني أكسيد الكربون بنسبة 38 طن سنويا للوحدة،
وقال المهندس وليد شتا، الرئيس الإقليمي لشركة شنايدر إلكتريك مصر وشمال شرق إفريقيا والمشرق العربي: "تؤمن شنايدر إلكتريك أن الحصول على الطاقة حق أساسي لكل الإنسان. ومن المتوقع أن يوفر مثل هذا المشروع شريان حياة ومصدر دخل لحوالي 28 أسرة مصدر دخلها الرئيسي هو الزراعة مما سيساعد على جذب المستثمرين إلى المنطقة."
وتم تزويد نظام التشغيل بتكنولوجيا Ecostruxure من شنايدر إلكتريك والتي تضمن الحفاظ على مستوي الأداء من خلال المراقبة الفورية لعملية إنتاج وضخ المياه.
وقامت شركة شنايدر إلكتريك بتجديد جهاز التحكم في محطة مياه الشرب بقرية الحيز بمحركها الجديد من طراز Altivar 312 الذي يعمل بالطاقة الشمسية، وذلك للمساعدة في توفير مياه الشرب بتكلفة أقل للأفراد في المناطق ذات الاتصال الضعيف أو المعدوم بالشبكات الكهربائية. كما سيضمن النظام الجديد زيادة قدرها ثمانية أضعاف في إمدادات المياه إلى المنطقة.

وكجزء من مسؤوليتها المجتمعية، قامت شنايدر إلكتريك بتنظيم دورة تدريبية لمجموعة مختارة من أهالي قرية الحيز لتدريبهم على كيفية تشغيل النظام وصيانته، كما ستقدم الشركة تدريب لسكان القرية من خلال مركز التعليم المائي في الحيز لتثقيف السكان حول التشغيل التقني للحلول.
