Sonatrach awards $32 million contract, selects Emerson as main automation contractor
November 07, 2018 – Emerson (NYSE: EMR), in partnership with Fores Engineering, has signed a $32 million contract with Sonatrach, Algeria's state energy company, to modernize its gas processing plant in Alrar. As part of the contract, Emerson will combine its innovative technologies and operational certainty methodology to optimize Sonatrach’s production operations and improve the reliability and security of the Alrar plant’s processes.
Emerson’s modernization program at the Alrar gas processing plant, in the southeast part of Algeria, is designed to help Sonatrach achieve Top Quartile performance—defined as operations and capital performance in the top 25 percent of peer companies.
“Sonatrach has long been a valued customer to Emerson, and this contract further recognizes Emerson as a leading automation technology company capable of executing complete, turnkey projects to achieve measurable business improvement,” said Mounir Taleb, vice president for measurement and analytical, Emerson Automation Solutions, Middle East and Africa. “This project also enables us to support Sonatrach to ensure its facility meets the latest standards for safe, reliable and efficient operations.”
The project strengthens Emerson’s presence in Algeria, which is a strategic market for the company in Africa. “We are proud to provide Sonatrach the automation it requires to expand its gas processing operations in Alrar,” Taleb added.
In its role, Emerson will update control and safety systems, fire and gas systems, field instrumentation control and isolation valves, and other equipment to improve production efficiencies, equipment reliability and safety.
The project includes the engineering procurement, commissioning and testing of the new integrated control and safety systems, fire and gas systems, boosters and compressor controls, field instrumentation, liquid and gas metering skids, control and isolation valves, and other equipment for improved production efficiencies, equipment reliability and safety.
Sonatrach, an Algerian government-owned company that processes the hydrocarbon resources of the country, has diversified its activities to cover all aspects of the oil and gas industry value chain, including upstream (exploration and production), midstream (processing and transport) and downstream (refining, petrochemicals and marketing).

07 نوفمبر 2018 - أعلنت شركة "إيمرسون" (Emerson)، إحدى الشركات العالمية الرائدة في مجال تكنولوجيا الأتمتة والبرمجيات والمدرجة في بورصة نيويورك تحت الرمز (NYSE: EMR) ، بالتعاون مع شركة فورس الهندسية للمولدات والطاقة الشمسية، عن توقيعها عقداً بقيمة 32 مليون دولار أمريكي مع شركة الطاقة الوطنية الجزائرية «سوناطراك»، في سبيل تطوير وتحديث حقل الرار الجزائري. وبموجب العقد، ستجمع شركة "إيمرسون" بين تكنولوجياتها المبتكرة ومنهجيتها التشغيلية من أجل تحسين عملية إنتاج الغاز في حقل "ألرار" التابع لشركة "سوناطراك" لضمان أعلى مستويات الأمان والموثوقية.
ولقد تم تصميم برنامج التحديث الذي ستنفذه شركة "إيمرسون" في حقل آلرار، الذي يقع في الجنوب الشرقي من الجزائر، لمساعدة شركة "سوناطراك" على تسجيل أعلى أداء ربع سنوي، بتحقيق أداء تشغيلي ورأسمالي بنسبة أكبرمن 25 بالمئة مقارنة بالشركات النظيرة.
وقال منير طالب، نائب الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة روزماونت في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وأوروبا لإيمرسون لحلول الأتمتة: "لطالما كانت سوناطراك عميلاً مهماً بالنسبة لشركة " إيميرسون"، ويعكس توقيع هذا العقد الدور المحوري الذي تلعبه شركة "إيميرسون"، كشركة رائدة في مجال تقنيات الأتمتة وقدرتها العالية على تنفيذ المشاريع الجاهزة ومتكاملة لتحقيق تحسن ملموس في نمو الأعمال، كما يتيح لنا هذا المشروع أيضًا دعم" سوناطراك " لضمان التزام منشآتها بأحدث المعايير لعمليات آمنة وموثوقة وفعالة.
وأضاف طالب: "سيعزز هذا المشروع من حضور شركة "إميرسون" في الجزائر، والتي تعتبر أحد أهم الأسواق الاستراتيجية بالنسبة للشركة في أفريقيا. ونحن فخورون بتزويد شركة سوناطراك بأفضل حلول الأتمتة المبتكرة من باب توسيع عمليات معالجة الغاز في حقل ألرار."
كما وستقوم "إيمرسون" بتحديث أنظمة التحكم والسلامة، وأنظمة الحريق والغاز، وعمليات التحكم في الأجهزة الميدانية وصمامات العزل، وغيرها من معدات لتحسين كفاءة إنتاج الغاز في الحقل وتعزيز موثوقية المعدات والسلامة.
ويتضمن المشروع على المشتريات الهندسية والتكليف والاختبار لأنظمة التحكم والسلامة المتكاملة الجديدة وأنظمة الحريق والغاز والمعززات وأجهزة التحكم بالضاغطات، وأجهزة القياس، وسدادات قياس الغازات السائلة والغازية، وصمامات التحكم والعزل.
الجدير بالذكر، بأن سوناطراك، شركة حكومية جزائرية أنشئت لنقل وتسويق المحروقات، ثم قامت بتنويع محفظة أنشطتها لتغطية كافة جوانب قطاع النفط والغاز، بما في ذلك صناعات المنبع (التنقيب والإنتاج)، والصناعات الوسطى (التصنيع والنقل)، وصناعات المصب (التكرير والبتروكيماويات والتسويق).
