As part of its goal to make Dubai a global maritime hub, DMC takes part in Seatrade ME 2018 offering progressive solutions for the advancement of the industry and promoting the city as being the “TRUE MARITIME CLUSTER”
UAE- 30 of October 2018: Dubai Maritime City (DMC), the world's first purpose-built maritime centre and a member of the Dubai World Group of companies, has successfully participated in the 9th edition of the Seatrade Maritime Middle East Conference and Expo taking place from the 29th to 31st of October at the Dubai World trade Centre.
Dubai Maritime City’s participation will play a significant role in promoting UAE as a first-class maritime destination and will provide a platform for DMC to showcase the recent and most ambitious initiatives that have played a vital part in establishing Dubai as one of the world’s most competitive maritime hubs. Dubai Maritime City offers a distinctive opportunity for international maritime key players to exhibit at their pavilion that includes MaK ME, Reintjes Middle East, Al Suhail and Drydocks World. DMC aims at also emphasizing the importance of private sector bolstering business and to encourage new initiatives by harnessing the power of innovation and technology.
Reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global maritime hub
DMC’s participation in the event reaffirms its strategic objective for Dubai to become the global innovative hub for maritime industries. It also aims to establish the city as a preferred destination by international companies looking for an environment reflecting growth and sustainability.
Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation clarified, “Dubai has taken its first steps towards international leadership after being ranked fifth among the world’s most competitive and attractive maritime centers. DMC continues its efforts towards modernizing the sector into an inclusive, competitive and attractive area for investments, in line with the UAE’s Vision for building a more sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation.”
Bin Sulayem further added, “Dubai’s global competitiveness can be further enhanced by the consolidation of public and private sectors. Building productive partnerships, promoting innovative ventures and expanding the scope of joint investments will contribute to the overall growth and progression of the maritime industry.”
DMC solidifies a “TRUE MARITIME CLUSTER”
Commenting on the Dubai Maritime City’s participation, Ahmed AlHammadi, COO of Dubai Maritime City, stated, “Our presence at this effective platform strengthening our aim to advance all aspects of the maritime industry in the region while upholding the values of quality and excellence. We are proud to participate in Seatrade Maritime ME, and extend our continuous support to all its programmes working to promote a culture of innovation and advancement in the region’s maritime community.”

Promoting maritime innovation
Rado Antolovic, CEO & MD Maritime Services Division, DP World added, “Dubai is already an established maritime hub. الإمارات العربية المتحدة – 30 أكتوبر 2018: أعلنت مدينة دبي البحرية، أول مركز بحري عالمي وعضو في مجموعة شركات دبي العالمية، عن نجاح مشاركتها في الدورة التاسعة من معرض ومؤتمر سيتريد الشرق الأوسط للقطاع البحري 2018 والذي يعقد في الفترة من 29 إلى 31 أكتوبر في مركز دبي التجاري العالمي.
وتعتبر مشاركة مدينة دبي الملاحية ذات قيمة هامة في تعزيز مكانة دولة الإمارات كوجهة بحرية عالية المستوى، وستكون منصة لاستعراض مبادراتها الحديثة والطموحة والتي لعبت دوراً هاماً في ترسيخ مكانة دبي كإحدى المراكز البحرية الأكثر تنافسية في العالم. وتوفر مدينة دبي الملاحية فرصة مميزة لرواد القطاع البحري من جميع أنحاء العالم للمشاركة في المنصة، والتي تضم شركة "إم إي كي" الشرق الأوسط، وشركة رينتجس الشرق الأوسط، والسهيل، والأحواض الجافة العالمية. كما تهدف مدينة دبي الملاحية أيضاً إلى التأكيد على أهمية القطاع الخاص في دعم الأعمال وتشجيع المبادرات الجديدة من خلال الابتكار والتكنولوجيا.
تعزيز مكانة دبي كوجهة بحرية عالمية
وتؤكد مدينة دبي الملاحية من خلال مشاركتها في هذا الحدث على هدفها الاستراتيجي الرامي إلى تعزيز مكانة دبي لتصبح وجهة مفضلة للقطاع البحري، كما تهدف إلى ترسيخ مكانة المدينة كوجهة جاذبة للشركات العالمية التي تبحث عن بيئة للنمو والاستدامة. وأوضح سلطان بن سليم، رئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة موانئ دبي العالمية، قائلاً: "اتخذت دبي أولى خطواتها نحو الريادة الدولية باحتلالها المركز الخامس لأكثر المراكز البحرية تنافسية وجاذبية في العالم. وتواصل مدينة دبي الملاحية جهودها لتحديث القطاع وجعله قطاعاً شاملاً وتنافسياً وجذاباً للاستثمارات، بما يتماشى مع رؤية دولة الإمارات لبناء اقتصاد أكثر استدامة يعتمد على المعرفة والابتكار".
وأضاف بن سليم: "يمكن تعزيز القدرة التنافسية العالمية في دبي من خلال دمج القطاعين العام والخاص، حيث إن بناء شراكات مثمرة وتشجيع المشاريع المبتكرة وتوسيع نطاق الاستثمارات المشتركة سيسهم في نمو وتطور القطاع البحري بشكل عام".
ترسيخ مفهوم "تجمع بحري حقيقي"
وتعليقاً على مشاركة مدينة دبي البحرية، صرح أحمد الحمادي، الرئيس التنفيذي للعمليات في مدينة دبي الملاحية، قائلاً: "إن وجودنا في هذه المنصة الفعالة يعزز هدفنا الرامي لتطوير جميع جوانب القطاع البحري في المنطقة مع الحفاظ على الجودة والتميز. نحن فخورون جداً بمشاركتنا في معرض ومؤتمر سيتريد الشرق الأوسط للقطاع البحري 2018، ونقدم دعمنا المستمر لجميع برامجه التي تعمل على تعزيز ثقافة الابتكار والتطور في المجتمع البحري بالمنطقة".
وأضاف الحمادي: "تبلغ قيمة القطاع البحري في دولة الإمارات 200 مليار درهم، وهو ما يشكل 5 بالمئة من الاقتصاد المحلي. وستستفيد مدينة دبي الملاحية من هذا الحدث الذي يجمع قادة العالم وخبرائه لتعزيز القدرة التنافسية للدولة؛ ما يسهم بزيادة جاذبية المجتمع البحري وتشجيع المستثمرين الإقليميين والدوليين على الثقة بالقطاع البحري في الإمارات".
وتابع الحمادي قائلاً: "ويأتي معرض ومؤتمر سيتريد الشرق الأوسط بالتزامن مع تطورات عديدة رئيسة حدثت في القطاع البحري. نحن في مدينة دبي الملاحية نواصل التأكيد على التزامنا باستكشاف وتقديم أحدث الابتكارات والمبادرات البحرية لبناء علاقات وثيقة واستثمارات قيمة من شأنها أن تعمل على بناء بيئة بحرية آمنة ومتكاملة ومستدامة، تخدم نمو الاقتصاد الوطني".
تشجيع الابتكار في القطاع البحري
ومن جهته قال رادو أنتولوفيك، المدير التنفيذي ورئيس قسم الخدمات البحرية في موانئ دبي العالمية: "تعتبر دبي مركزاً بحرياً متطوراً. ومن أجل التكيف مع ديناميكيات السوق المتغيرة علينا التركيز على الابتكار والتكنولوجيا، حيث يلعبان دوراً مركزياً في نظرتنا ومبادراتنا. نحن نؤمن أن استخدام التكنولوجيا الجديدة سيكون بمثابة عامل محفز للنمو، ما يسهم بإعطاء دبي ميزة تنافسية كبيرة تعزز مكانتها كمركز بحري عالمي".
وأوضح أنتولوفيك: "يعتبر معرض ومؤتمر سيتريد الشرق الأوسط منصة متميزة لخبراء القطاع لتقديم آرائهم وخبراتهم حول الوضع الحالي والتوقعات المستقبلية للقطاع البحري، ويربط المعرض جميع الأطراف الفاعلة ويوحد الجهود من أجل ضمان تقدم القطاع باستمرار".
